Also saying the avermedia will replace the goxlr is misinformation imo. You show it as a great idea but in practice both the software and the hardware are a complete trainwreck! IMO goxlr mini is still best option and will be for a while.

I haven't been this excited about an interface in years and the fact that it can potentially replace 2 integral devices is something I want to see happen. What's also refreshing is that you give information as you see it, not sugarcoating it for sponsors or manufacturers. This is super important to build trust and also helps manufacturers with less support time from end users because if we can't get the hardware to work, we know it's us and not the hardware. In this case, we know it's the hardware and not us. :D

If all you talk about is the products that work well and you like then we never understand how it could be bad. although i don't think this is a GoXLR killer.. i am so happy another company came out with a device that can "compete" (obviously after software is upgraded and other little hiccups). When a company can compete and create multiple options you start to see more innovation, price changing, design changes, and other things as creators we want to see added or taken away. $350 for this device is a great price point!. I feel like TC-Helicon will come out with a new one before this year is over and then drop down the prices of the Past GoXLR's to help all budgets.

I was so hyped I remember you saying in your streams for the last couple weeks don't buy a go XLR yet and I knew something new was coming out soon I just wish it was something that was worth waiting for. I'm so glad to see companies trying to make a product that surpasses the go XLR not just matching it but a product that doesn't function is as much good as a product that doesn't exist. I would pay a licensing fee just to have a virtual software like elgato's mic software but that works with all microphones. Something more feature-rich than voice meter banana that would be a good stepping stone between that and a go XLR. I would even pay the elgato tax for them to release a competitor hardware product. I'm so disappointed in avermedia because they genuinely had the opportunity to release a one of a kind sensational product, and then they cheaped out in all the areas that actually matter.

Aver Media will forever be that company with great design choices and ideas but without the execution needed to make their products actually good.

When switched from a UX2 audio interface which I only got for pod farm software. I never expected an audio interface to ever power a mic enough to be usable live.
So when I swapped to a new audio interface and wanted hardware gain I bought a DBX 286s.
So instead of "no option, completely unusable" I know that you could just plug mic into a DBX 286s pre amp processor then run a line out into any audio interface or mixer.

I feel like this is always AVerMedia signature. Get us hype on a product that COULD be good but then leaves us wanting more in the end.

Kinda similar with AMD Gpu drivers, they make good products, but they tend to take their time to make the software level work correctly, got both 4k pcie cards from Elgato and Avermedia (4k 60 pro mk2 & live gamer 4K) and for recording quality hands down avermedia wins, but since Elgato software is just well made and more flexible (flashback recording, multi app, streamdeck integration), its the better choice for streaming in general.

Also the other notice it's not just an XLR input.. it's a combo input.. You can also fit a 1/4" plug in there.. Which is valuable coz I was lookin at wireless lav mics and none of them have an XLR plug, what most of them DO have is a 1/4" plug stickin out of the receiver, which may need to be plugged into a small cord but.. yeah. I dunno for me personally-- I'm starting to think that the big mic in your face thing might not be for me. I feel claustrophobic trying to game with this big thing in my face and have to avoid hitting it when I get up and stuff. I'm thinking a lav mic might be better, but the GoXLR and Wave XLR both have just straight XLR inputs (it's not a combo jack) so that wouldn't work without a small extension cable but when it comes to audio every added connection in the audio signal brings noise and potential nightmares.

I've found relying on these types of all-in-one devices to be a real pitfall. I have a dedicated audio interface for my XLR mic, a stream deck for...well stream deck related things, and a Korg Nano Kontrol 2 MIDI Fader that when used with a program like Power Mixer (overrides your built-in Windows mixer and allows you to "keybind" faders/keystrokes to turning up/down/ext specific programs) and VoiceMeeter can be fully utilized to control ALL the audio ins and outs of your PC. Getting a specific device to handle each specific task is way better than hoping that one device will do all those things perfectly.

Regardless of competitors to the market; It'll be years before I replace my SM7B, GoXLR, and Streamdeck; They're proven valuable assets to have. Whatever comes to market will have to prove their value over time for people to see them as viable and buy their product.
