The Ohio State University has been playing football for over one hundred and ten years. In that time literally thousands of players have taken the field wearing the Scarlet and Gray, earning the right to be called Buckeyes.
But while the history of Ohio State football is filled with some of the greatest players and coaches in the game, perhaps no single player personifies the great Ohio State tradition, and the spirit of the Buckeyes, more than one man: college football’s only two-time Heisman Trophy winner, Archie Griffin.
But for all of Archie Griffin’s success on the field, it stands as a testament that those closest to him remember him most for his generous nature and a desire to share his success with those around him.
Perhaps Woody Hayes summed it up best. When asked about Griffin, Hayes responded, “He’s the best player I’ve ever coached, and an even better person.” - กีฬา

Archie Griffin is such a legend that he’s respected & admired by Penn State fans. He’s a great man.
For Mr. Griffins parents to not be college educated and then give ALL EIGHT of there children college educations speaks volumes about their character and personal dedication. Stories like this make me PROUD to be part of Buckeye Nation (born and raised there)

Even for me as a Michigan fan, he's a hard guy not to like. Same goes for Chris Spielman, Paul Warfield, Jack Park, Jim Tressel etc. I'm sure there's others.

I was in high school when Archie was at THE OSU. There won't be another span of college football like "The 10 Year War". It was great and the Arch made it that much better. The only twofer in NCAA history.

Archie Griffin disappeared in virtually every critical game and was TERRIBLE in the NFL.
Teams keyed on him. And there wasn't a well developed passing game to utilize. Also he was under used in second half of 76 Rose Bowl. Breaking his hand in first half didn't help either
