- Installing a CR Lawrence Powr Lite Limo style rear window in the 1989 Chevrolet cameo. Probably one of the most Epic OG Parts you can find at this point in time. I searched for 10 years to find one. Held on to it for several more years before deciding the Cameo was the right Truck!

This hasv got to be one of the best mods in a stock looking appplication ,aspecially on an extended cab ,great stuff guys,keep up the good mods.
I didn't want to lose the rear seats in my xcab. So this is where she'll reside! Its very cool! Lots of wind when you roll it down.
There is no perfect, there’s only good enough. THAT’s definitely good enough!!! For me, it’s a lot like the SuperDome by virtue that it’s something I only saw in the magazines, but never saw one in person. Awesome video! Glad you brought another part of minitruckin history back to the forefront. Enjoy that airflow man! ✌🏻

My fav mod ever. CR Laurence Power Lite roll down back window. Waiting on a guy in CA to send me one for my C30. Love it man. What a score. Super rare these days. I even contacted them and ask them to continue to reproduce these windows and they said they stopped around 1990 or ‘91 and they will not do it.
When I was rebuilding it as soon as I said what i had they were like nope, don't have anything. There were at least 3 versions that ive seen. Its like they were trying to get it right. They are quirky, but cool as hell! Reminds me of the old mercury turnpike cruisers!

That is the coolest mod. You are right won't see a lot of minis with them. Puts you in some one of a kind status right there. Too cool!

That's pretty cool I actually had a 1987 ford f-150 bigfoot cruiser it came factory with the limo window there actually pretty rare trucks and not many people seem to know about them...
like this setup better ( interesting knew about the model option but mostly for the recall/internet-video's about it, also toyota made a model's with roll-down and i can remember it in my hood/next-door to me etc and thinking wow i like that for fresh air instead of my stuffy fixed/no-box factory lifted/ford-big-foot-competition k1500 80's ) than k1500 sliders-mailing box now 🤔if there's a way for this and the convertible/bubble hard-top mod to work together?
thinking about something similar for my back window on my 60's charger for summertime and defogging and also for the air not to thumping my ears/glass at hyi speed with the vent-window or back-passenger-glass open

Tid bit tip: use a small rope wrapped around the rubber with end of rope on the inside of the truck. Then after placing window pull the rope while pushing on that spot of the window. Takes just a couple minutes
Lol yeah ive done that before. Not possible with the limo window. Too much of it sticks inside the cab.
Had one of these power back windows in my 88s10 low rider .back in like 2000 loved cruising summer nights in with the back window down . My glory days lol

Same. These days its twice as hard to find og parts as it is to build something yourself. Which makes both ways extremely cool.

I have one in my 1987 s10 it's a power light brand power window. I paid $50. For it 10 years ago. Mine came.e out of the GM tech center. At night it will reflect the head lights back at the car behind you.

I did not know they fit on the s10 truck I have one on my 91 obs truck and I have another one I am getting ready to put on another truck very cool set up.
They only fit what they're made to fit. The s10 ones are rare as hell. I saw a few full sizes chevys with them in the 90s.

Its not perfect but it's not supposed to be. That's what makes us not factory🤘 looks great. You gotta get us a driveing video with all that airflow.

Discontinued in the 90s. The company still makes power back windows for all the newer stuff. No one there worked there in the 90s and has any clue about the windows. Finding them in the wild id expect to pay $2500-5000

If you take a thin rope and put in the channel in the rubber and pull it as you hold the glass against the body. Oh a lube it with glass cleaner or silicone spray.
Love what you guys did is it possible to put that same product on a 98 Chevy S10 short cab..and what size is recommended..
Its a part from the 90s. They made them for about anything back then. I found this as a used unworking unit and rebuilt it.
CR Lawrence is the brand. They still make power rear windows for new stuff.

How much and where can I get this done at I got a 1984 c10 susta smurf and the only way I change my rear sliding window is if I get the limo window put in it
They made them for c10s back in the day. Ive been offered 2k for this one repeatedly. So id say you're gonna be in that range trying to find one

@@HardCoreGarage I was talking about using an electric sunroof out of a car to make the back window to try and have close to what you have here. Then finish the rest of the opening with body work. Or add corner windows like the 50 model trucks 5 window trucks

This kit was discontinued in the mid 90s. They make all the newer power windows now. Your only option is treasure hunting. Id expect to pay 2500-5000 for a working kit

I have one of these for my S10 I haven't put in yet. Was wondering what u did to secure the bottom. Mine has kinda like a post on each side at the bottom but I didn't get anything with it to install that mounts in the truck that they insert into.
I should add, I watched your video of when you went to pick it up. I've been waiting for this video. Can't believe I didn't notice it right away. You've been a huge help to me with my 88 S10. I appreciate your videos!

There is nothing supporting the bottom, but its very secure. The window frame holds everything nice and tight.

Not exactly. I've got the breezer in my 90. Its kinda a pain in the butt to deal with when it's out. I like it popped open but I'm always scared it's gonna break when out. And the opening is alot smaller
