    As a newb, un-brazed a line full of mineral oil with R-22. That was a nice big fireball. I can’t imagine doing the same with R-32 or R-454B. Always use a tubing cutter when doing a coil changeout.

      Yes! Definitely be more careful with A2L refrigerants

    How about having the sparker going as you introduce the R32. You may have gone past the stoichiometric point for ignition. That would be a proper test.

    Great video, thanks! Will share this with our guys. We are in the process of getting everyone certified but this makes the point clear. Looking forward to the next video.

    How about when we braze the condenser and that copper pipe get heated is it dangerous, what do you guys recommend

    Loved this video ! I thought of making one like it and now I don’t have to lol my take away is that they are both flammable. Idc about “mildly “ because that’s like saying someone is mildly pregnant. I saw fire on both.

      Well said. We all need to be more careful from now on

    With the open flame, you need to allow the gas to fill the chamber to reach the flame.

    But here in Europe R290 and R600 are being used in refrigeration, fridges and freezers, in many supermarkets as well. The industry does not care about technicians' safety.

    Try some r-32 , compressor oil and air mixture in your test chamber.

    • @GWAC555
      @GWAC555  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes! Mixture of oil, pressure, refrigerant and air in the system can complete the combustion triangle. If air is not present it will never result in combustion. Technicians should never skip pulling vacuum.

    Have you done a comparison between R-134a and R-1234yf yet?
    Id love to see those

    Main danger is not sparks but arc. It ignites much better than candle flame.

    I miss old R22 systems, built to last. R410A will be the last of the good refrigerant

    People are forgetting that you need to have all three sides of the fire triangle to ignite a flame things don't just spontaneously combust.
    These systems can be completely safe.

    Please do R452a that cointains r1234yf

    • @GWAC555
      @GWAC555  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      R452A is a mixture of 11% R32, 30% R1234yf, 59% R125.
      This is a non flammable A1L refrigerant, R125 is a flame suppressant, when mixed with mildly flammable refrigerants it will make the mixture non flammable. Just like R410A is 50% R32 and 50% R125.

    The concentration of the r32 was too high to be in the range of explosive mix.
    Between 13,5 and 27%Vol in air it is explosive. Below and above it's not.
    Try that again with 20% Vol.mix in Air 🤪

    R290 dangers. Compare that danger with a leaking BBQ grill or a gas stove with a leak.

    • @GWAC555
      @GWAC555  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      The propane and Natural gas used in BBQ grills and stoves have an odor added to them so we can detect a leak. R290 has no odor whatsoever.

      Hmmm, one people commonly associate with a risk of explosions, the other people don't think much of all.
      I'll let you guess which one AIR CONDITIONING is.

    Mo99 for R-22 replacement, but isn't efficient as R-22 & will have a higher energy cost compared to R-22.
    R-32 is probably going to get banned in the US soon as its already banned in the EU.
    The US is banning R-410A & companies are still selling R-410A units!

      Thank god mexico with all it's lack of regulation exists.
      Everybody wants a closed border until it's time to do closed border shit. I prefer my ac with the smallest side of fireballs possible, in home and auto.

      I live in Europe and R32 is not banned, if anything it's becoming more and more common just like R290 and R600. Many Minisplit ACs are using R32 in Europe right now. I personally do not consider them as safe refrigerants. They are not.
