I was a little surprised by your complaint with combat cause I was thinking... I never found flash guard or dodge that hard to trigger... and I'm the type of person who rarely guards cause I swear I forget the shoulder button exists and thats almost always what its mapped to... but then I remembered I would just spam the dodge and guard any time the enemy seemed poised to be ready to attack so that probably had something to do with it. for the record I only ever played on normal... I did try the hardest difficulty once but I can't get past the 3rd boss... i'm glad the game never punishes you for taking an easier mode lol. Great video and looking forward to seeing more!
It would be nice! It is such a good game. At least it's a budget release at $39.99. I think it's worth a rebuy and replay if you've already played it once.
I am interested in this game since my cousin is really into it and I am planning to get the PS5 version. But that whole reliance on parrying does sound offputting considering the only game I ever enjoyed parrying in was the God of War trilogy. I am hoping this game's timing windows aren't TOO strict like most parry systems.
@@civilwarfare101 I don’t think so. It would lessen the results of it though. I end up just doing a lot of rolling around and getting to the back of enemies instead. Difficulty would also probably decrease their HP and increase your damage output
Ys IX: Monstrum Nox has demos out on Playstation and Switch. Maybe PC, I am not sure. It has the same mechanic. You should try it and see if it bothers you or not!
I Absolutely love Ys 8 Lacrimosa of Dana😭😭

Thanks for the follow last night from Taylor’s stream!
@@DrLevelUp Thanks for the follow back, always nice to see more Falcom content that seems level headed~
I wish there was a way to upgrade the PS4 version to PS5. Such a good game. Thanks for the review.

*adds to cart* sounds very interesting!
It’s a good time! Anything Nihon Falcom does is good, in my opinion. JRPG comfort food

I definitely got better at it towards the end of the game, but it was challenging to get going.

Does difficulty effect the timing windows?
