Cheers, Jack for the mention. Carving over here in New Zealand is pretty small, thus youtube is a nice way to have contact with other carvers, like yourself and other youtube carving channels and viewers. Have a great day. 😊
My pleasure Matt, I’m happy to have learned about your channel and your art. I’m hoping to help my audience discover new creators that they might not be aware of. Looking forward to your future content!👍
Thanks Jack for mentioning Kevin Coates in your video. Kevin is an amazing & talented carver. We both live in the Newfoundland and Labrador province of Canada. Kevin lives about 2 hours drive from me & I have on several occasions visited him & it is a joy & inspiration to watch him carve. I am new to carving. I really enjoy watching your videos both on this channel & your carving channel. Thanks so much.
Hi Bruce! I’m happy to hear that you’re enjoying the channel. That’s great that you’ve had opportunities to visit with Kevin and to draw inspiration from him. Thanks very much for sharing your thoughts and Happy carving!
Thanks for the mention Jack! I set with Harold at least once a week for 8 years and it finally hit me one day, hey there's not really much video of Harold carving, so I just decided I'd better start, and just a spur of the moment thing, as you could tell from the video and background noise, and I've kicked myself everyday that I didn't record more! We had planned on doing more, but life, then covid, and well, you know the rest! It breaks my heart, it's like having that very knowledgeable grandparent that you didn't take advantage of that knowledge and then they're gone! There is one other video of Harold carving stubble, just a short video.
My pleasure Tim! I’m sure you’ll treasure your memories of the time you spent with Harold. I imagine that knife he made for you is also something that you’ll treasure. I’m so glad that you’ve shared your videos and I sure hope others take a look, I think they’ll be amazed as I was. Take care cousin!👍
I've lost track of how many "Inferior tool company" tools he made for me, or just gave me, but I do know my favorite. Harold was a great blacksmith also, and I was talking to him about making an Adze for spoon and bowl carving, he'd never made one, but he said we'd work it out and see what we could do, he walked into carving the next week and walked up and handed me this perfect Adze, perfect handle and sharp as a razor! I was a happy man! 😄

@timpevey868 Wow! That’s a great story Tim! Is it OK with you if I mention this as a follow up in next week’s episode?
Not a problem at all.
Thanks Tim. 👍
