Top notch! Thanks! It must be tiresome to read comments from people who cannot take a few extra seconds to view your videos BEFORE they comment...

Great video Van. I think its easy as a novice carver to make a big mistake and think the project can't be saved. I myself have only been carving for less than a year, but one of the most satisfying lessons I have learned is that you can almost always carve deeper. The end result might be a lot smaller than you intended but a finished carving is better than a piece of firewood! I can't tell you how many times I have been carving a face, only to be unhappy with the results, before carving the detail off entirely and starting again. It has resulted in in some of the best faces I have done. Thanks for everything you do Van! PS would love to see you on instagram!!

Nice . We all make mistakes and as beginners it's hard to know how to correct. Thanks for showing us how to salvage a rough out . Would like to see more of these type of videos. If you need mistakes maybe I could send you mine to use on future videos (LOL). Great job, Van. Always a learning experience from you.

Thanks Van!!! I don't know if you remember, but you helped me get into carving years ago when I met you at Silver Dollar City. You connected me with a carving group in Texarkana AR. You also helped me buy my first knife, an OCC Scout. I still use this knife every day and I have been carving ever since. Keep the videos coming!!!

Yoir instruction are always inspiring and you technique is straightforward and easy to follow.
I do wonder if you could detail some of the tools you use. I see some OCC and DOCKYARD but some of your gouges are interesting to me. I'd like to know what brands you use. Thank you for your time.
