And me as a viewer am blessed by your exemplary charter! To me that’s why wood carving or any other talent is important! It shows God’s workmanship! Bless you Alex my artist friend! My teacher in high school did an experiment where he had two different classes make snowflakes but they were listening to different music. It was interesting.

I suffer from chronic pain from a spinal injury. When carving in the round, 3D, it takes concentration and thought. I have to spatially picture the image of what I am trying to create in the wood itself. This is necessary for me so that I do not remove material that is needed for my creation. When I am in my single mindedness to the process of carving. It takes priority over my pain that I have, and it will fade into the background. Wood carving in a way has become a form of pain medication for me. When I start carving it's hard for me to stop. It’s as if I am addicted to it. I believe part of the reason for this is the relief I get from pain and how it will magnify itself when I stop. And I enjoy it immensely. At times, I lose all sense of time. What ever talent I have for wood carving has grown with practice and the study of it. Alex, your lessons have helped that growth and your example of what can be done with wood has given me a desire to pursue this art. Thanks again

I've just started wood carving, it's mainly you where my inspiration has come from to start. My gouges arrived last week and I've nearly completed my first piece and im really happy with it. I can't draw but I can carve it seems. Thanks for the guidance and talks, it's made my lockdown a lot easier having a carving interest and project! Thanks.
