Best biochemistry lecture I have been received so far❤️ Huge respect Sir ❤️ Really biochemistry won't be boring for any student if they find teacher like you
WOW man, all day looked for it and finally found it here. No one couldn't explain it so short and comprehensible as you did. Huge compiment from my side !!!
If I ingest 0,5 dl sunflower oil, when feeling hunger, my body tells me:”we not hungry, go back to play!” If I eat any high-carb or processed food, means that the food has been made as apetiting as possible by adding right combination of salt, sugar, sodium clutamate etc., my body don’t stop eating before strech-pain from stomach. But, if I add some 0,3-0,5 dl of sunflower oil to the portion, my body reports:”we satisfied” enough quick to keep the body in good shape. I was low-fat vegan for ten years, and did not get rid of the love-handles even when cycling weekly 100+ km and swimming 1-3 times per week. Now in high fat lacto-ovo diet I have my six-pack visible even with much less of sports.
Pretty technical. I’m a Whipple patient from 2017 cause of pancreatic cancer and am still experimenting with what works best for me to to avoid pain, maintain weight and well….live as long as I can 🥸. It seems protein bothers me. Would that make sense to you ?
Hi, thanks for a great video. Id be interested in the same video with a focus on a ketogenic diet. With starvation of carbohydrates how does this effect the process?
you skip the initial glucose step and just go right to the glycerol and fatty acids. the fatty acids drive ketone atp production for energy while glycerol is used to maintain minimum glucose levels needed for the brain and general function
I have a question Dr, is it the production of the 'ketones' is from the 'too much of acetyl co-A' that is produced by fat ? I've learnt about the production of ATP from the crab-cycle process, but never explained about 'ketones'.. hoping for a clearer explanation Dr, thank you so much!
Your diagram shows fats going to both the portal vein and the lymph system. Everything I have read says that fats go to the lymph system only. Why do you show a path for fats to go to the portal vein?
is oxaloacetate a product of the citric acid cycle, and if so, why are ketones produced if oxaloacetate can just be turned into glucose? is it less work for the body to produce ATP from ketones rather than convert OAA into glucose?
Alright, but which source does the system prefer when glucose is not available: protein or fat - and why? By my experience it's protein. On a low carb diet, training bodybuilding or even crossfit style, I lose muscle mass and strength, which technically should not happen because there is enough fat as a source for ATP production.
When they say each gram of protein has 4 calories, is it meant that the body will allocate 4 calories worth of amino acids from each gram of protein to be converted into pyruvate, or that the total amount of amino acids obtained from each gram of protein has 4 *potential* calories?
I spent 4 years in medical school. This was the best biochemistry lecture so far. Thank u
why am i paying 9k a year when mr youtube man explains this in 5minutes
Exactly
Because you've been had
And your teacher probably doesnt have a nice mustach and muscles like mr youtube man
Yesss🤣🤣🤣🤚🏾🤚🏾
Because you don't remember it.
The very best overview explanation of metabolism I’ve ever heard. Very well done sir! Where was the video when I was in undergrad??
He's still trying to find an answer for that
Best biochemistry lecture I have been received so far❤️
Huge respect Sir ❤️
Really biochemistry won't be boring for any student if they find teacher like you
After 6 years of ex phys, this was the most simple explanation I’ve seen. Nice job
You're the best Man, Medical student from Africa.👏
Very well articulated, this channel seems underrated
Man, the smile at the climax is intoxicating !!! Loved the video
Your explanations are amazing! So easy to underatand
Great and clear short explanation! thank you
Great job explaining that. Awesome and under 6 minutes
Best, most concise explanation I've seen yet. The others are either too neophyte or are complicated gobbledygook.
Really great video ..Now i understand it more than when i did in college.very thankful to you for sharing this ..
That was a lot of fun. I like the drawings and I actually understood it.
Perfect explanation sir! I finally got to understand the overview after months learning them
The clearest I have ever understood this process
This is an AMAZING overview/summary of macronutrient metabolism. Love your videos! ❤️
A great overview before studying the lecture. Thank you 💛
bro’s stache is MAJESTIC
Mate that was so well explained I’m no smart cookie but Damb that’s made perfect sense easy to understand. Appreciate it mate .
Doc, outstanding explanation of energy metabolism of macronutrients. Thanks!
Great. Well explained Dr.
you did this concept amazingly in an understandable manner. Thank you and keep rocking
can you be my professor? I have no idea why I am paying all my money to university where I can open youtube and get a lot better explanation.
Great explanation for easy understanding
Very well explained. Thanks Dr Mike. I love your videos.
As an engineer with little interest in human bio aspect, I understood a decent amount of info. Thank you.
Haha engineers are expert of everything except of their own field.I am also engineer but working in Biomedical field.
excellent short and sweet
Thank you sir
He says, "Easy!" I'm glad this is easy for someone. I'm following but it's taking me a bit longer. I have to watch the video a few times.
When the absence of glucose, the body is force to use ketones. Perfect! That clearly explains why ketogenic diet works to lose weight effectively.
From the diagram, when would protein be turned into pyruvate and used as a fuel source?
This was an amazing video btw, exactly what I was looking for!
Hey mate , really appreciate you effort on the chanel and you're a Legend, love the way you make things eazy so tnx a lot👌
Wow, great explanation! Very intellectual& detailed breakdown
What a brilliant lecture Doc! Thank you!
Bro ur carrying me with this video🙏🏾
Thank you!!! You really are fantastic at explaining things.
WOW man, all day looked for it and finally found it here. No one couldn't explain it so short and comprehensible as you did. Huge compiment from my side !!!
You answered my questions about how ketones can be converted to ATP, thanks!
The perfect summary!
Dr mike deserve a thanks . Small beautiful sum up
So nice of you 😊
Vivid explanation. I can understand how different nutrient break down into ATP in a couple of minutes
Thanku for such a well explained tutorial
You’re rocking the mustache!!!!!
lovely! thank u for this free university level lecture
Brilliantly said
Beautiful lecture 🙏🏽👏🏽
With all due respect, a mustache that stylish is impossible to ignore 😆
great work thanks
Great explanation thank you!!
Great moustache as well!!
Thank you❤️
From Sri Lanka 🇱🇰🔥
Great explication, Thank you :)
Thank you for wonderful video. Was wandering if you have a video on chloraplast or plant energy as well.
Phenomenal presentation
Saving my medical school grades one video at a time 😅
Very well explained, thanks!
Excellent content.
Thank you, mustache guy!
the moustache makes me want to have one

THANK YOU SM!! I FINALLY UNDERSTOOD HUHUHU
It's wonderful to understand in short..
I love ketones, producing them right now! On a 3 day fast...
Thanks , amazing , question - where does this KETONES come from then ?
Better than my teacher teaching
I've never been more confused T^T but thank you for this!
Wow 🤯
Just tell us when and what you eat so we can look like you.
Smart
Please tell me when the body starts to break proteins instead of fat ?
After how long I mean.
Thank you
It would be great if you could make a video for anatomy and physiology
Thank you Doctor 💕. But can you in the next videos allows properties of the translate to Arabic language , please? 🙏💕
Very helpful , thank you
Too fast talking bro. Dont try to beat the algorithm. You are giving terrific info.
Bring the mustache baaaaaack
Thank you dr

Hey Dr, I have a question who take Proteins, cabs and fat from blood to cell (mitochondria)?
Your amazing thank you !!!
Good video!
Do u do personal choaching and dieting?
How about proteins?
3:43 What happens to cellular respiration when there is a Thiamine deficit?
Can you give me the sources? I would like to use your video as an orientation for an elaboration. Thanks!
Thanks!
