    idk the details about Botan's health beyond needing to go to the hospital a couple of times for it but has she talked about what's going on with her? Because I had no idea it was bad enough that the doctor asked her to considering quitting.
    Thanks for clipping this. I feel like there aren't too many people who clip Botan talking about things like this and I wish now more than ever that more people did or that I knew enough Japanese to understand her myself, because I really like hearing her discussions on things like this, even if the subject matter was heavier this time around. The fact that she could laugh through this entire conversation and, in the face of her own death, come to the conclusion that she truly loves what she's doing is honestly incredible. I've always had a lot of respect/admiration for Botan but damn she's really something else. I hope she'll still be with us for quite a while and we can treasure the time we still do have. Thanks again for the subs.

      I think I need to clear up something first, the reason why the doctor got worried was because of a hilarious misunderstanding www
      When Doctor asked when and how much she works, when and what does she eat, and whether she exercises.
      Of course, as Botan's a streamer, all of those are very unstable and she only ate take out food too, but she couldn't tell the doctor that she's a streamer. So of course the doctor immediately assumed she's working in a black company, and tried their best to convince her to quit that black company www
      And regarding her affliction, so far, she haven't talked or shared any details regarding it before, just some hint and there, like it isn't anything life-threatening.

    Botan already takes breaks from streaming pretty often with a few days rest so we don't have to worry too much about her, afterall she can take care of herself and obviously knows more then us, and if I remember correctely this was like a few months ago when she had her hospital check.
    All we can do as loyal SSRB is just to continue to support her while shes still streaming.

      Yup! The story was from a few months ago, around January and February.
      She shared she have reduced ordering take out foods, sleeping early, and like in this clip, taking a walk to exercise. It's great to see her doing her best to take care of her health!

    Awww Botan 😢
    I do admire Botan for her strength and passion, but on the other hand I hope she takes care of herself. I don’t want to hear about her death or anyone’s death for that matter until I’m old and near death as well. I know that’s not how life works but it’d be nice if it worked out that way.
    Also I know she was laughing while talking about her father, but I can’t help but detect some pain. It’s a painful story.

    Ah, I've been seeing people talk about this clip so it's good to see context. That said as a translation note, maybe it's just a regional thing but what you tl'd as "cardiac massage" is usually referred to as CPR, at least in Canada & USA.

    • @SSRB_Botandyn_446
      @SSRB_Botandyn_446  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I wanted to use that too, but my images of CPR is always the blowing air into the victim, rather than the defibrillator CPR.
      That was why I kinda had some qualms on using the term CPR, because I imagined them blowing air and pumping heart if I read that term.
      Hope that clears it up!

    • @Sphinxrave-dev
      @Sphinxrave-dev 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe the term is more generally called “resuscitation” procedure. (The R in CPR). It’s not specified what kind of process exactly but you can surmise they tried to resuscitate but did not succeed.

    • @SSRB_Botandyn_446
      @SSRB_Botandyn_446  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Sphinxrave-dev What Botan actually said was Shinzou(Heart organ) massa-ji(Massage), so Heart massage/Cardiac Massage.
      So I think that the process used was indeed the defibrillator.

    So Botan's father passed away. Lamy's mother and grandmother also passed away when she was younger. She said, "take care of your health" while she was, you know, drinking. But she doesn't drink that much this year.

    Botan seems to be coping OK, but I can't imagine how traumatizing that event had to be for her mom. One minute you're taking your husband to the hospital because he doesn't feel well, and the next you're frantically doing cpr on him only to realize he's already gone. Like..fuck, dude.

  • @rade-blunner7824

    Quite a heavy subject to be talking about while chuckling every other sentence...
    When my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer after a lifetime of smoking, he died within five months. It was a difficult time, but at least we all had that time to come to terms with the inevitability of it, including him. I can't imagine just one day being told out of the blue that he's already dead, let alone a harrowing story of my own mother having to push the doctors aside to give him proper CPR herself.

    • @Paul-bs5wl
      @Paul-bs5wl 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      1) That is Botan's personality (definitely of her on-screen presence, but I suspect it's not too far off herself normally)
      2) This could have happened 10+ years ago, plenty of time to have healthily come to terms with it.
      3) Not every culture is as cripplingly afraid of death as modern Westerners are.

  • @SeanCrosser

    When you take streamers' work schedules at face value, they really sound like they're overworked.
    IMO the difference is that unlike wage-slaves, they (should) have audiences that can understand if they go on a hiatus, whereas I can't just tell my boss that I need a week off or I'll implode.

    • @SeanCrosser
      @SeanCrosser 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think it was a Subaru clip where she talked to a friend about having work to do near-constantly, not being able to join them for stuff, and the friend went "is your work, like, black?!"
      Because prepping stuff for streams is "work", and you do that a day before the stream, and even if it's a 3-day stream schedule, that means that you're functionally working 6 days, even if the 3 prep days aren't full work.
      Full-time streamers are amazing. It's tempting to view them as just having fun playing games, talking, or singing as a job, but there's a ton of work that happens in the background to get those streams running smoothly.

    • @SSRB_Botandyn_446
      @SSRB_Botandyn_446  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Dont know about other streamers, but for Hololive members, they even have to prepare and practice for their concert lives, without even stopping their streaming activity, so I really respect them on that.

    Istg that other clip going around needs more context, ie a lot of people assumed her doctors know she's a streamer when that's not the case so it creates more confusion.

      @SSRB_Botandyn_446  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hmm~ They might've missed the stream when she talked about that earlier this year, so they simply didn't know either.
      It can't be helped as they're clipping almost every Hololive members after all.
      Edited: By the way, when I was clipping and editing, I remembered that you asked for a clip about her families, and about that, I'm sorry the first clip about her family is such a dreary and heavy clip 🙏

    This is unproven, but i have this theory that these past years, i feel like there's a 'cap' on seiyuu's performance especially older veteran seiyuu, but even younger seiyuu, if we compare it to english VAs. More apparent on lines that is loud or straining for the actor like screams. As much as i like JP VAs i cant help but notice the english VAs performances. Its as if there's a safety regulations for taking care of the JP voice actors from the industry/management. I hope cover is as active on managing their talents well being.

    I would advice her not to do exercise in the evening, or night time. Because the plants release carbon dioxide instead of oxigen from 6pm to 3am. It's not good for lungs if she exercise too much in the evening. This little fact has usually been ignored, and it's one of the causes of early death.
