Even though I have limited understanding of Japanese, Botan might be the first hololive vtuber that I'm willing to watch streaming, I'm especially interested in her playing Siege and Diablo.
As expected of our Pro FPS connoisseur Botan, she's a fan of real firearms in her FPS. CoD as a series in the past put tons of effort into realistically emulating the feel of different real guns in their games, even though the franchise is very fast paced. Battlefield also tried to push the realism of them. I think the reason for games not adding real guns recently has been related to unproven connections between video games and real life violence, plus a whole variety of modern FPS games having near-future or futuristic settings. An OG FPS player like Botan though knows how much fun it is to use something based on real weapons of war.
The "video games = violence" narrative has been pushed around by a lot of people for at least three decades now (people remember Jack Thompson?), yet the games industry still gave birth to military shooters and the like, and of course research has long proven that there's no real connection between them. Hell, FPS started off with fantasy weapons (like Doom's BFG) and it was around the late 90's - early 2000's that we started seeing guns based off real world firearms, leading to the rise of franchises like Counterstrike, Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, Battlefield etc. Also, there's still a lot of recent games that use real-world guns like Escape from Tarkov and Battlefield V, and 2020's Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War is bound to use more realistic guns simply due to its setting. So no, video game violence has nothing to do with fantasy guns in FPS, and more to do with the video game trends at the time.

When she talks about the supposed copyright, it's not really copyright but licensing. It may be why they use fictional names or nicknames on real gun platforms. well, there's actually a chainsaw gun attachment irl called killsaw chainsaw bayonet made by Panacea X
Cries in forgottenweapons.com
She's getting more and more Slav by the day. The first gun she mentions is a Kalashnikov. She wears Adidas, and a weird coat that looks like a huge ushanka. She's got light hair. The only discrepancy is that she says she can't drink.
I have a strong feeling she will really enjoy Doom
AS a (self-proclaimed) gamer that doesn't really into FPS (Cause I sucked at it), she mentioning Arma put a big grin on my face
3:22 rimmy and botan collab please.
Would love to take Botan out to a shooting range
When she talks about the supposed copyright, it's not really copyright but licensing. It may be why they use fictional names or nicknames on real gun platforms. Although some of them are using the actual name but maybe they got the name for them instead.
I mean it's Activision, they buy a few iconic names but cheap out on the rest of the weapons for low costs.
Truly a slav gamer lion
Of course the Adidas Lion would mention AK-47 first.
What a gamer
0:24 a fellow FAMAs enjoyer I see
Lol, imagine Botan doing an Arma, Squad, or Insurgency stream.
Surpressed MP40 is one of my favorite guns to run.
we stan our gun otaku father
An actual AK-47 idol
Also, give this girl Warhammer 40k and give her a fucking Bolter
Adidas stripes? Likes the Krink? The gopniks are going to love where this is going....
imagine competitive CSGO with botan
I wish I could find Botan online at any relevant channels (her channel's recent TH-cam activity is music and her Twitch has been quiet for like a year) to suggest her a perfect game for her style. Kinda bummed I can't.
