Pretty much. My parents, uncles, and little sister are all pretty well-versed in games. As a kid, It was frustrating to have the adults slow down their combos just to give you a chance. Nowadays, it's pretty much a free-for-all in any game we play, and you gotta git gud.

3:43 Lamy was so confused when Botan said her siblings proceeded to hit her with a turtle shell. She probably didn't realize Botan is talking about the shell item, since she seems to be not too familiar with Mario Kart, and imagined Botan being pelted with real life turtles..
The Japanese have a idiom that says something along the lines of: "Lion parents push their children off cliffs to only raise the ones that have the strength to climb up again" (which is typical thinking for Asian Eagle Dad / Tiger Mom type parenting) which may be why Lamy was thinking that it was a LITERAL turtle shell and not a thing from a videogame.

Being in familion is harsh, they have to beat her up in game for her to become a proper gamer. But like anime shounen protag she trains until she mastered it
Last time someone said "you still have potential to grow", she didn't grow any breasts or even height. Just ask Rushia or Matsuri xD
I can already imagine Nene being punching bag every time a game collab comes, within 5th gen or with their senpais.
I feel like Botan's the type to not just enjoy playing a game, but enjoys playing it while being decent at it, not sure if that makes sense though. I'm not sure what Botan's content will be but would love to see her play Grim Dawn or Diablo in one of her streams. I've always expected FPS games from her since people were already talking about it, but never games like Diablo.

@@yuuki3 Personally i think It not because people don't want to improve but going from B level casual player to A level good player will took practice, dedication and time which honestly many people didn't have luxury for, for example being able to race in racing game is easy but learning about corner entry and exit trajectory, proper throttle and brake control, car setting, steering input, wet weather, elevation, etc will take a lot of time not to mention track or map familiarity also crucial for someone being just ok or good this ultimately lead people to just satisfied just being ok and not pushing the barrier to become good player

Yep, I definitely know this feel. For a long time, my elder brother was the one clearing all the "difficult" games like Doom and Commandos, and pretty much every other game while we younger brothers watched. Thus, whenever us siblings would play in multiplayer games like Tekken he'd always come out on top.
Perks of being the elder brother is you *HAVE* to be on top of your family sibling hierarchy it's like pride and a must! I'm not sure if it makes sense to other people but to older brother out there (since I am older brother as well) will understand what I mean, its like we need to always be on top after our parents kind of thing because we are like the leader after our parents

My older brother would kick me into a corner in Street Fighter and not let up. He would only play legit with his friends, so I had to learn how to get the jump on him fast, because he would literally just kick me to death 😩😆
any sibling rivalry rooted in fighting games is basically a shounen anime. growing up with a younger brother that’s 3 years my junior, i had to uphold that same pride all throughout my gaming life and best him in any game that we both played. Smash, Halo 3, Tekken, you name it. everything was going well for me until we got DBFZ. at first i was still beating him in most matches... and then he had his 3 week long training arc in the summer. where i only occasionally practiced maximum damage combos, he was learning fundamentals, wake-up attacks, footsies, anti-airs, and block punishes... hell, he even learned the frame data on the characters i played. so yeah that was the story of how i lost my pride (and 5 sets in a row) to my younger brother. it’s weird to think that we’re now equals when it comes to gaming, but seeing that amount of drive in anyone is enough to make even the proudest older siblings shed a manly tear. in the process, he even discovered a love for fighting games and the natural desire to overcome his own weaknesses made him way better than i’d ever expected him to be.
For me it was racing games, as the younger sibling, I'd watch them play or try to clar games after they did so, but then... I started going more hardcore, putting the gears on manual on NFS MW and so on, eventually reaching Colling McRae where I was an absolute madman (and basically cleared 80% of the game by myself) and then...Dirt Rally: Driving an Audi Quattro S1 at full throtle through the Netherlands stage with my 10 year old steering wheel.

Familion built their family members to be tough just like a real lion~ that backstory and then connect it to nene's gaming skill is really funny.

Botan has this confident attitude that I don't see in other japanese personalities very often. Like, she doesn't try to downplay her skills, she is very talented and won't try to deny it. It's kinda refreshing, honestly.

I'm saying this because I just saw the 4th gen's first collab of Keep talking and Nobody Explodes where Coco couldn't express her thoughts well, Watame whose presence you couldn't even feel half of the time and Kanata carrying the three. It's funny but they were so stiff, lol.
Botan feels like someone that I find easy to relate to. I hope to watch more translated content. I saw the first half of her debut, and honestly had no idea how awesome she is.

I can definitely relate to the “much older siblings” thing. My oldest brother and sister would pummel the hell out of me when I was under 12. After that I outgrew them both insanely fast. I even had actual growing pains but within 2 years I was 8” taller than the brother and around 12” taller than the older sister. Familial genes are crazy sometimes. The two youngest ,including myself, we’re basically giants compared to them now. Anyway, back then there was a moment that the older brother just stopped messing with me and that same moment I noticed I was looking at the top of his head rather than staring at his chin. He still tells everyone that story today.
