This is the twenty fifth episode, we will be covering Victorian Kite Marks. These are early registration or patent marks, and are a fascinating tool to use to research antiques. Kit marks apply to metal and jewelry, as well as many other items. We'll cover how and when they were used, and the tips I used to research and identify them. I can't wait to share these special pieces from my Victorian jewelry collection with you!

Missed your live show and catching up now. I love the Scottish kilt pins with citrine and antique sterling bookchains. But I haven't been able to find one with a kite mark. Of course, maybe I was not looking thoroughly enough online or in person. Where did you find these beautiful and meaningful pieces? Thank you again for the informative video.
Thanks so much for watching! When searching online you can search for key words “kite”, “lozenge” or “diamond” registration marks - however I have had the best luck simply by looking closely at pieces, whether online or in person. (These early registration marks are not very common, and the majority of the pieces in my collection were purchased on eBay and Etsy.) Good luck on your hunt, I’m sure you will come across some special treasures!
I took some time to look over my pieces and found some with kite marks! So excited. Some were worn and hard to see a part of the number. I'm still trying. Thank you for the info. It made these pieces more special to me.❤❤❤❤
