Oh, wow! That’s my lion blanket! Thank you so much for featuring me, Isabella! To clarify something that I think I should’ve worded better in my submission--this blanket wasn’t my first project ever. But it was my first mosaic project. It was around my 10th crochet project overall. Also, to answer your question, Isabella, it definitely took me many months after the contest to not just hide the blanket away in an airtight bag. But eventually I accepted that blankets are made to be used and now it lives a lovely life on my sofa!
Wow! Thank you for sharing everyone’s gorgeous works of art! And for being so open and encouraging! I’m 50 and still sleep with a teddy bear that my husband gave me for our first Christmas together. You’re never too old to enjoy plushies. ❤
This is a lovely video- my most proud item is a random jumper. My maternal grandmother taught me to knit when I was about 10 and I've knitted on and off over the past two decades since then. Four years ago she was diagnosed with terminal cancer and one of her last wishes was to be supported to die at home. My mother and I helped her to achieve this and I knitted beside her for the last few weeks of her life as we spoke with her and guided her to the end of her life. Whenever I wear that jumper, I feel like I am getting a great big hug.
"We don't get to brag that often" .. my husband and I will hold our items out to each other (crafting, etc) and say "validate me!" And the other person makes oh ah sounds ❤
This video kept me smiling from beginning to end. Thank you for demonstrating genuine joy and support of fellow crafters. You have a beautiful soul, girl!!!
What a beautiful idea for a video, and a wonderful way for people who may not post a lot on social media to still share something they're proud of. Incredible work, everyone, and thanks to Isabella for bringing it all together
That's the most wholesome video I've seen in a while. So full of love and encouragement. What a great video idea, thank you so much! I really enjoyed watching you gasp at all these beautiful projects of these unbelievably talented people. The fact that so many people felt comfortable and secure to share their results and personal stories with you is a reflection of your character. You have managed to make people feel seen and not judged through your videos, which is so beautiful. I apologize if I might have expressed something in a strange way. English is my second language. :) Greetings from Germany
your celebration of others is so inspiring and touching, it’s so wonderful to hear someone be so vocally appreciative and supportive. your joy for others’ success is so beautiful. a true girl’s girl through and through🧡
Wow Isabella (the human) said so many nice things about my sweater, my cat, my hair AND my organized email?? What a great day! And little miss Bella (the cat) says hello to everyone :) I love seeing everyone's creations
I’ve watched both of these and I enjoyed them so much. You are such a ray of sunshine; your enthusiasm and joyous appreciation is so infectious! Thank you for doing this. It really brightened my day.
Actually trying not to cry about the Tigger and Hug Bunny plushies, that's so sweet!!! I've got a stuffed cheetah that's my cuddle buddy - she sleeps in a little pillar near my bedroom window now so she doesn't get messed with by the cats. My hubs and I buy each other plushies all the time - our room is full of them!! We have nearly as many as our kiddo does hahaha.
Oh my... This was such a wholesome video! I loved all the projects and loved how happy they made you! This is just such a nice idea... Hearing about the projects was soo sweet .. All you guys are just amazing!!❤
This is such a great video idea! It was so cool to see what people are most proud of. Y'all are so talented! Also you should totally try mosaic crochet - it is one of my favorite techniques and happens to also be the technique used to make my favorite thing I've crocheted (a blanket with dragons and griffins on it as a wedding gift for one of my best friends. Modified it a bit from a pattern, but the graphs in the pattern were amazing and the result was fantastic)
I have to say, if I had seen the call, I also would have submitted my mosaic crochet blanket as well. It is probably king sized, and heavy because I used an acrylic cotton blend yarn. I use mine every day, and it stays on the back of my couch for easy grabbing to snuggle under. I am a believer that you can absolutely make a work of art in crochet, but a blanket should live its life as a blanket. You can always make a new work of art that you can be more proud of at a later time.
Love them all! I know for sure my proudest piece is the socks I crocheted (yes, crocheted) for my bestie for Christmas last year. I invested in alpaca fingering wool and spent the better part of a month crocheting in every spare moment I had (which wasn't a lot. I'm a work from home homeschooling mom lol). They weren't perfect, but she loves the heck out of them and wore them so much that I've already had to fix the toe for her lol.
Thank you so much for including my piece! And honoured to be featured with so many other amazing fibre artists ❤ I created the mosaic crochet blanket at 21:00 😊 I used Hobbii twister yarn in tropical art deco and pastel crayon! (Also your pronunciation of my name was perfect!! I’m from Australia 😝)
I can totally reccommend that cardi! It's the Solitary cardigan by Victoria Marchant. She's in the process of stopping selling her patterns though, so I'm not sure how long it'll still be available.
oh my god!!! i saw the lion blanket and thats literally my next project! i haven't watched this video yet but i literally screamed and had to run here to the comments section! i'd love to send you a picture of a blanket i made using the same technique! (not to be featured i just love showing people this blanket) i love this style of crochet and no weaving in ends!
This is a great video...felt like we were all sitting together sharing our projects...like the old days w/o social media lol. You must do another video like this in the future!
It looks like my comment got auto-removed by youtube because I linked naar the pattern of my cardigan😆Anyway, it is the Solitary cardigan by Victoria Marchant, I totally forgot to mention that in my e-mail (I always seem to forget half of what I'd want to say with such things ...). Also my thought process was 'huh, I missed that, I'm not sure what I'd have sent in' and then seconds later: 'oh shit, I didn't miss it! I made the right choice, but eeps now I'm up first!' lol. And yes, it's kind of scary, but in a good way. Loved your reaction.
Great video of great works! I live that my favorite TH-camrs are so passionate about building community and encouraging us to build each other up! Keep crafting, my friends! You are all SO talented!!!
I'd love to see more vids like this and be able to submit someday! I am only about 8 months into learning crochet and not quite confident to share finished projects ( still working on keeping my tension stable) but my grandkids are happy with thier wonky blankets and cardigans so that's something! 😸 -Bean
Mosaic crochet is wonderful technique and as long as you don't jump a few rows (speaking from experience 😅) it's really simple with mostly two stitches that can as shown an amazing diversity of Motiv Styles.
Just because your work is undervalued doesn't mean others should be. You should think it's crazy that you're ONLY paid $18 an hour as a laborer. The problem lies there.
Thank you again to everybody that submitted! I couldn’t get all the original submissions in one video. Part 2 will be ready in about 2 weeks. 😊🎉

Using Bella the Cat’s face to censor that person’s identity made me laugh out loud lmao

I hope this becomes a yearly tradition because this is so delightful and heart warming. ❤❤❤
I would honestly love to see this be quarterly or maybe even monthly, if Isabella gets enough submissions (and she's up for that).

Holy cow! You have some tallented people watching. Mosaic crochet, try it out. It isnt as hard as it looks
as someone who makes 18$ an hour as a laborer, giving yourself 20$ for knitting is crazy to me. but if it makes you money, get it
