The azure dragon and white tiger are also symbols of justice and righteousness. In ancient chinese courtrooms, they are part of the "4 protections". The front doors of the main entrance would be adorned with the 2 door gods to keep away ghosts and evil spirits. Inside the courtroom, there would be 2 pillars flanking the magistrate's table, with the azure dragon carved on one side and the white tiger on the other. These 2 pillars prevent yaoguai from influencing the court's decisions.
Thank you for such a educational content. I think, according to Bazi, Earth element represents transition, absortion, mediation, ending stage, located at end of each season (late spring/ late summer/ late autumn / late winter). The earth acts as storage to absorb one element for other element to flourish (eg. absorbing Water/Winter for Fire/Summer to begin)
I almost forgot that the yellow dragon is included as the 5th bonus element. It made me think..what if there’s the 6th bonus. That element would be Wind.
The four beasts here aren’t really gods. They’re guardians of the gods. Those gods are qilin the phoenix, the turtle(?) and another one I forgot. They’re similar with their guardians. It’s really complicated. I tried researching the gods, but it’s only the Four Symbols. The wind is closely associated with the four dragons. This also includes the Azure Dragon. Like I said it’s complicated. My culture’s mythology is too complicated. I hope this helps.
When I saw the intro, I just loved it. And since my birth year is 2004, that makes me a parody of the air nomads. And like aang, I have a fat bison. She can't actually fly, but she makes it up by eating me out of house and home.
Each of them have names: Baliu=Byakko(White tiger) Xuanwu=Genbu(black tortoise) Qinglong=Seiryu(Azor dragon) Zhuque=Suzaku(vamillion bird) Huang Long=Kohryu(Yellow dragon)
I read this somewhere before but can't remember where that, the snake is actually the tail of xuanwu aka the black tortoise, while the tortoise represents defense and stability like a fortress, the snake represents offense and agility..

Super cool to learn this! Thank you for your insight
Wait… does the Japnese word ‘yokai’ come from the word ‘yaoguai’ you used here? :o
@@cecillewolters1995 It's the same word, just different pronunciations
@@syrupybrandy2788 oh so that's why only the dragon and the tiger make it to the lunar new year dance... cool
This reminds me of the classic anime Fuushi Yuugi..❤❤❤❤
Why isn't anyone talking about Beyblade?
Fushigi yuugi is actually related to this legends the suzaku, seiryuu, genbu, and byaaku are the japanese terms for the four guardians
Love the intro!

I read somewhere that wind isn't included because it was part of the "life sciences" branch.

Black Myth brought me here.
So the black tortoise is a female, and the snake is male, and they are mating?
to be honest, its kinda implied but not totally said.
I read this somewhere before but can't remember where that, the snake is actually the tail of xuanwu aka the black tortoise,
while the tortoise represents defense and stability like a fortress, the snake represents offense and agility..
My favourite is the blue dragon
LET IT RIP!! If you know, you know...
