      What people don’t realise is that the polar wash you should agitate it with a wash mitt. But people don’t seem to realise that. So they say it’s just crap. But if you follow the instructions it really isn’t.

      Polar Blast - Polar Wash - Polar Seal, can't fault these three. (Polar Wash I use wash mitt, then jet rinse) after polar seal jet rinse and dry via my Milwaukee leaf blower with a special adapter for cars. Works great

    In my opinion, Polar Blast has a price and performance I would expect for their target market. For those of us in the know, we buy Bilt Hamber. Meguiars Ultimate Snowfiam is way too costly, even at sale prices. Good job on the video, Jon 👌

    Jon, I've been steadily working my way through your videos and I've got to say they are brilliant, by far the best detailing channel.

    I have been using Bilthamber as pre-wash and then after blasting it off after dwelling, giving the car a second blast of Bilt Hamber and doing the contact wash with it, works superbly! :)

      Do the same now when I clean. To me it's really slippery so adds that feeling of preventing scratches when contact washing. I like to soak my wash mitt in their auto wash shampoo

    Very interesting angle on snowfoams Jon I’m still more of a Citrus 🍊 guy myself that Megs stuff is ridiculously priced shame because as you know there are so many smaller brands out there with would give it a bloody good run for the money cracking video my friend 😉🎥

      @boofstien2 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Me too Pete and I've tried the others. Bilt hamber auto foam is also cheaper per wash when brought in 5l, mixed correctly and applied correctly. I suppose I use 300 ml of mixed solution per car (150ml of autofoam per car)

    I agree completely about foaming cars. I rarely do it when washing my cars. Only time I do it is typically for reviews or for stripping waxes. It’s a pain plus cleanup after wards sucks. While drying the car foam always ends up coming out of somewhere because it gets in every crack and crevice. I like the testing you did showing their cleaning abilities that was cool. Great video

  • @TristanJCumpole

    Great video! I've watched a few this morning, and it states everything as straight as can be. My understanding of these foaming pre-wash cleaners is that they lift the abrasive particles that might otherwise scratch the paintwork during a more thorough physical wash. I get that a lot of people think that foam is more exciting, but is it necessary? Yes and no. Yes inasmuch as any light pre-wash is necessary, but no as in does it clean more thoroughly.

  • @fordyford
    @fordyford 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I love the color and smell of meguiar's ultimate snow foam !. And 👍 for coating maintenance !.(170ml in 830ml water!), On the other hand if I need a slightly more aggressive shampoo, I add 50ml of apc or super degreaser 👌
    For those who leave it in the cold and pieces that form in it, leave the bottle in hot water, the shampoo will return to normal. Where to leave it at home warm !.
    In 1:20 it also makes a good clay lube. Because good lubrication

    I have used both. I’m not 100% sold on snow foams as a cleaner but I appreciate the extra lubricity when contact washing. It must capture and suspend some amount of dirt, and so I would assume that in the long run it will reduce swirling.

    • @KRBY555
      @KRBY555 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      thats what I do. Initially I thought they were a a dream product. There is a (thai?) dude on here that tests them all as just a foam/rinse product. Even the best is weak. The play is to foam, and use that as your base to handwash.

  • @BobDiggler76
    @BobDiggler76 5 ปีที่แล้ว +20

    I've tried these before watching John's review. These are both expensive and poor performing - neither of these products are nowhere near as good as Bilt-Hamber Auto Foam. That is a excellent cleaner, degreaser, cheaper (34p per wash) and includes anti-corrosion properties. I can't understand why either of these would warrant any kind of recommendation.

      I’m new to home car washing and I am considering a pre wash since I’ve got a car I’m proud of now.

    I used the AG snowfoam and honestly its not as good as Autobrite Magifoam (yes I know there is a caustic component in there, but still). I feel as though the magifoam helps the shampoo take off that much more dirt than the AG.
    I also feel like I have to pre-wash the pre-wash with surfex for it to get anywhere close to the magifoam.
    I honestly didn't like the polar wash (used as a spray on). I felt it disappeared to quickly, I felt I was rushing around the car once the shampoo was on there, and feel it didn't do as good a job as the ol' Bilt Hamber shampoo.
    Other than that I would recommend the AG polar blast if you were stuck using off the shelf Halfords products, but not the AG Polar wash or the AG Polar sealant.
    I'd be interested in a comparison between the AG polar wash and the Halfords own brand wash and wax.

    Most of the "detailing" in the uk we use snow foam as a pre wash and just rinse it off. How bad is it to foam a car and contact wash it. I love some of the American products but I dont think the americans just get the point of the pre wash.

    You mention doing a video comparing foams that may be able to topple the legendary Bilt Hamber for cleaning power. If you do I'd like to see HDD FOAMumental & Waxplanet 8 Below, both claim incredible cleaning power and far better dilution rates than BH.
    I've got a bottle of the HDD one on my shelf to try but still burning through my BH at the minute.

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      ive got 8 below.. HDD foamumental I had that and it was not a strong cleaner imo. not like BH anyway. I think its been totally reformulated since then though let me know what you think of it the HDD products are good.

      @minimadmotorman 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ForensicDetailing I like FOAMumental V2, it's a strong cleaner, I'll be honest though that I have gone back to BH as a day to day foam. I've been using the HDD foam alternatively as tyre and arch cleaner through a pump sprayer.

      @vergo8 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@patrikpakarinen no not at all,use at the correct dilution ratios and you cant go wrong,it cleans well and is really thick foam.see one of jons snow foam battle videos i think it came second in hes test only to bilt hamber

    • @ShortCycle.
      @ShortCycle. 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was using Magifoam prior to discovering Bilt Hamber and I'd still recommend it now if you want a thicker foam then B/H whilst still having decent cleansing strength.
      Didn't have any problems with stripping protection.

    Does anyone know what we call that (presumably rubber) folding brush holder that was draped over the edge of the soap bucket? That’s a handy way to keep those items nearby!

    • @TerrificFlow

      it looks like one of those rubber glove for the kitchen but i'm not sure. There's an expensive product that is similar, it's called buckanizer from outlaws: really expensive for what it is, but great to store brushes or mitts

      Try amazon under sink saddle caddy or tidy. Only a few quid and work well.

    I’ve been really enjoying your videos. Great information.
    Can I ask a question please.
    I won’t to wash my Bmw but I don’t have access to a power washer.
    I was going to use a hand pump spray for snow foam pre wash but after your comments in this video I’ve started to doubt the need since I will be hand washing it anyway.
    Would you use a pre wash at all or just rinse the car with water and go straight to hand wash?
    Thanks for the content pal.

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      you can but really you need a presure washer as a matter of priority a K2 should be around 50 quid which ist ok for getting started.

    • @Steven-qi4gm
      @Steven-qi4gm 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ForensicDetailing thanks for the reply. I have been looking at the k2 but it seems it comes with a Lance more for blasting pavements, and I’m not sure of which foam and car spray attachments fit to it.
      I’ll have to try and do more research, I keep going around in circles with it 🤦🏻‍♂️
