    When asking for ANYTHING outside/on top of the usual services, always be prepared to be turned down, or additional charges to be involved.
    It is entirely up to the other party whether they wanna take the request or not. Or offer it for free. This is a free market society.

    One time, I was taking a Grab with a friend and I told my friend that I was so thirsty because it was such a hot day but I had forgotten to bring a bottle of water... And the Grab driver offered me a can of Sprite! So nice of him. :)

    yeah bro, seriously if you give ur driver even an extra $2 when you mess up (e.g. late), it makes everything okay one. because that makes the whole difference of those few minutes. plus, they appreciate that you haven't taken them for granted.

    The girl in crutches damn entitled. She demanded driver to go up pick her, expect driver to text politely when driving. Not every driver has good command of English and not every driver can text a good complete sentence and drive safely concurrently. She can complain to grab all she want but why need to shame grab driver on tik tok? He may wanted to earn a bit extra to cover cost as he may have a family to feed. He tried to negotiate with her but she deemed as trying to take advantage when she was the one trying to take advantage. And she made that driver lost income. She went too far. She is the one ungracious, not the driver.

  • @Mandy-fg9jx
    @Mandy-fg9jx ปีที่แล้ว +12

    Even if the driver does not ask for extra charges for the drive up 3 floors, the girl should pay the driver tips as a courtesy la.
    On the other hand, it is such a no-no for me when driver start to randomly complain the company payment scheme to their passenger. 😑

    Can't afford to be gracious? Why are we making excuses for people who are unkind? Everyone is having a hard time. A little kindness wouldn't hurt.

  • @whykid
    @whykid ปีที่แล้ว +7

    It's also weird because in Malaysia. sitting in front isn't virtue signalling but a sign of courtesy to the driver, whereas sitting at the back of an empty car ride points to entitlement (you are my personal driver) - not that it always means that, but just comparing the two.

    • @teezhiyao
      @teezhiyao ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree that it's just being courtesy. I don't see why it's being seen as a 'bad' thing...

      Yeap but she might no have known that service

    • @pan4665
      @pan4665 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not trying to be mean, but she is kinda foolish to expect people to be nice to her, when each person has his own will and they act accordingly. If she is observant enough, she will realised this happened because both party is lacking kindness because she is also unwilling to pay extra for the driver while expecting the driver to do this act of service for her.

    • @xia0b0iix
      @xia0b0iix ปีที่แล้ว

      @@o0ohwyo0o Or she could be, like any other human, look to exploit and take advantage of the loophole called " expecting graciousness". We will never know. But the fact that she mentioned and expected the driver to act gracious for her (just because other driver has done it for her out of good will even though it is not required for drivers to do so) does give the impression she is entitled and is expecting something that is not required by the other party.

    Well sometime I feel that people (not all) had forget that phrase "if you are happy, I'm happy too". Life is difficult, yes but I don't think we should make other people life even more difficult. Is not like it make you happier by doing so. Overall being kind and respectful, whether is from the driver or passenger. Peace guys👍
    On the other hand, really no one use this 😂 anymore? Am I too old? LOL😂😂

  • @eileenstacie
    @eileenstacie ปีที่แล้ว +3

    In summary, if this is your private for personal use, then yes - would agree that passenger should ask if they want to change things. But if this is a grab hitch, grab, Gojek, the driver put up their services, so this is commerical right? Then no. well... The ride is not only a payment from getting to point A to B. It is also service..the driver is providing a service right? The passenger paid for the ride and service right? So, honestly! Who wants to pay for a nasty service? If the driver really can't deal with people playing with his car seat audio whatever... It's fine not to put up his ride service. He can still have his private car for personal use.
    And when they talked about driver earns marginal, that is not shouldered by the passenger. It is the driving company they worked for. This is not the US and tipping is a culture to earn more. Actually, the fact is, US is trying to change their tipping culture already. Hopefully we are not regressing to be like them.

    • @johnnyhaze4605
      @johnnyhaze4605 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      typical entitled comment sia. People put up their car as a service means they need to be prepared to get their whole car fondled? You try book a grabcar then tell the driver to get off and you drive instead. When you don't have basic respect for others, then maybe stay at home better.

    • @Missy_Ai
      @Missy_Ai ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's not about service, it's about basic manners. The car is not yours, so you should not use it as thought you own it.

    A classic example is Firefly Airline Malaysia. Their Customer Service hotline and Customer Care team is horrendous ! They practically ignore my emails and their CS Advisor cut off my line when I was talking to them after waiting 50 mins for someone to pick up the call. What choice do I have except to go on social media?????

    Even more importantly, it depends on when the videoing begins. If it records the whole incident, then you might have a stronger case to garner support.
    But many a times, the videoing starts after the triggers have occurred and we cannot simply treat the person who posts the video as the victim or someone who is telling the truth. How are we so certain that the supposedly 'victim' isn't the perpetrator and doesn't aggravate the situation before the videoing.
    Such viral video often only tells one side of the story.

    Some drivers are fishing for tips these days. If driving can't earn enough, why don't they find other jobs? Passengers also may be earning little, but under circumstances/inconvenient (eg. in clutches no choice need to take cab) Please think for passengers too. Those who drive their own cars won't understand. If drivers aren't happy just cancel ride lor...
    In short, saying money hard to earn...doesn't excuse a person to be rude / selfish / entitled. On both sides.
    On the other note, I have lots of respect for food delivery.

    I ever picked up a family of 4, the young boy sat on front, changed my android player to BT mode. When I asked what was he trying to do, he replied "oh i want to listen my music". My response simple: This is not your car boy, keep your hands to yourselves. The parents seemed not noticing as they busy talking behind. No points for guessing which ethnicity.

    hahah sorry la, I'm with JP. where got people sit in front to be 'polite' to grab/taxi driver one. damn virtue signal sia.. and ironically, can't help but feel it shows how much the person looks down on the driver that they would feel the need to make such a big deal of the matter.
    it's really simple.. being polite means being respecting your driver. don't need to go to the extent of sitting in front. pls. let's be real.

    I really don’t like how everyone likes to take out their phone and film, then post on social media when something happens. I understand that you want the video as evidence but you don’t need to post it on social media. I was harassed by this uncle in the bus because he said my shorts was too short. I just ignored him and he eventually stopped

    Huh? We all come from diff culture and diff understanding...if something is not clear, communicate nicely. There is no written rule about all these things, so we cant assume everybody understands the "basic courtesy". I dont think this case was a good example of "entitlement". The driver absolutely did not have to react that way!

    Both were clowns to me, as you (JP or JC?) have mention both escalated a small issue to become a big one. Adjusting aircon without asking is uncall for..you can't do that in a taxi or bus..lol.. they are providing a service too. IF too cold or not cold enough can always ask the driver to adjust. Sure the passenger was a knob for adjusting without asking, Uncle could have just say politely, if want to adjust ask and he will adjust..without going off at him..at the end of the day what happen?..passenger didn't get where he wants to go..and driver got a complaint on his record?..

    PAP is not just economically, socially and institutionally entrenched in Singapore, its values are also psychologically entrenched in the minds of the vast majority of Singaporeans.
    On this point, Chee Soon Juan is right after all, “Our biggest struggle is not against the PAP. It is against what the PAP has done to our minds.”
    If the central tenet of democracy is the empowering of its citizens to decide their future, then is it still democracy when citizens decide time and time again to relinquish their rights to the dictates of one ruling party?
