    This is my next car. I had 2 options, a G35 Coupe or a Scion FR-S I finally decided the FR-S is the car I want with the Manual Transmission only. It's more reliable than the G35, it doesn't burn oil like the G35 Rev up, and it's a cooler car. Plus I'm a Toyota car enthusiast.

      It really depends on what you like and your type of use, if you need the extra space/ comfort and you don’t mind a bit heavier and more FWD feeling car the WRX is a good choice and has a bit more straight line speed but dynamically the FRS is unmatched at the price range, it’s just a lot of fun to drive but it’s a smaller less comfy car. Hello, not sure if your still answering comments to this video, but I was gonna get a 2013 for my first car, what would you say are the most common problems, maybe from amount miles and such. Thank you. Great video!

    • @seizethespeed
      @seizethespeed  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank for watching! I’d say the head gasket is definitely the main concern but happens in higher mileage. Same thing with a few oil leak points like the valve covers. Other than that they are solid cars!

    • @AJS86
      @AJS86 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Head gaskets aren't really any issue with these. More a problem with older E series Subaru engines.
      2013-14 make sure you have had the valve spring recall already done.
      Some 2017 VINs had fuel pump recall too.
      Make sure you don't drive it hard without it being up to temperature.
      Ideally get a baffle put in the oil sump and oil cooler if you plan on driving hard.
      The factory clutch can be a bit iffy if you drive hard.
      Also heavy duty clutch likely will snap the OEM release fork.
      And the OEM throw out bearing is a crap design and will likely give up and start making noise.
      Replace it all when the clutch is done.

    • @AJS86
      @AJS86 ปีที่แล้ว

      The sealant on things like the timing cover and what not will degrade over time and oil leaks will happen.
      Change oil frequently and look after it and you'll have no issues.

    I love my 2013 FR-S, it's red just like yours and when I bought it, it already had tints and everything. I do a lot of around town driving with traffic so I got it in auto - would've loved to have it in manual but it would get me in trouble because I'd be spinning the tires every chance I got

    It's a great car in brand new condition and it'll remain great if you take care of it, but buying these used is an absolutely nightmare. There aren't that many and they become very problematic past 60-80k miles cause so many of the owners used em for track, boosted em, drove em hard or were negligent, then they do an oil change and oil filter change see some forbidden glitter stop using it and put it up for sale. You go check it out, get it inspected, all looks good. buy it and a few thousand miles in before your next oil change your engine blows and you're out $6000 more than what you paid.

    • @seizethespeed
