    Sometimes I forget just how labor intensive all that you are doing is, and then a video like this one shows someone wincing (Alyssa this time) and it hits me: That's hard work! - Good to see the drive is still there!

    U both r such hard workers. Always look like y'all are enjoying what u r doing even though it takes a lot out of u. Really have enjoyed the videos. Thanks for letting us tag along on your journey. Can't wait to see the next one 😁

    I was wondering if you could pull out your Plans and show us were these Braces are going within the currently completed Timber Frame structure.

    It's typical that I plugged in my battery for a job on one of our rentals and then watched the video!
    The tune is Fur Elise BTW.
    Liking the framing vids, very educational and it's great that you work well together, just like me and my OH, it makes life much easier and I think you both learn lots, we still do this in our ( young at heart) 70's.

    Hi, Just a little tip to help with power tools, put the cord over your shoulder and through a belt hook to make a loop, then use a bit of a dowel or something to stop the loop coming out. This keeps the cord out of the way and behind you so you don't accidently cut the cord or trip over it.

    We love keeping up with you two. We were wondering, did we miss the video where you show us exactly where these braces are going. We're racking our brains trying to figure it out. If you hadn't, could you do a little diagram or photo shop something? Keep up the good work.

    The song at the 11 minute mark is “I am falling for you” or at least I think it is. If so it would be by loving caliber feat. Michael Stenmark.

    FYI: I use furniture polish on my wood working equipment. I don't know how it will work on timber framing equipment. I spay it on and wipe it off. It allows wood to slide easily over the surface of the equipment and visa-versa. It will help with sap build up removal.

    Guys, before you hook up your power from the grid, add the necessary disconnect breaker and “generator receptacle” so during a power outage you can switch off your main, plug your generator into the receptacle, start the generator, close the generator disconnect breaker.

    Often with white pine you can stick your framing square to the vertical side of a timber and it will stay there, talk about sticky pitch. We slather on some turpentine and scrap it off. Having to put so much effort into plunging the morticer I wonder if it is getting dull? As for the Center, always base you stuff off an edge or better called the best face or next best face. Yes you can still use lines either centered or set a given off the best or next best face. Good to see a decent bunking system for working on.

    • @airbubba
      @airbubba 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, the braids look nice, but I can't help but cringe every time I see her bending over close to the power tools with rotating blades and moving chains, etc. If the hanging braid(s) get caught up in the moving apparatus, it would be a severe scalping at best and possibly even more catastrophic. Please make workplace safety a higher priority.

  • @pierregodin1668
    @pierregodin1668 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I could be wrong but, could your electric mortisor needs sharpening?? I can't see why she had to put all her weight on the tool to plung into the soft wood??Or could it be there is too much sap on the chain cutter that create too much resistance??Also i noticed that the cut results seamed ruff not clean and sharp cuts, like your chisels that cuts like a razor.

    • @jedidiah5131
      @jedidiah5131 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it can be sharpened but its a pain in the ass...you have to sharpen across the teeth and the chain tends to twist as the file grabs the tooth....most people will send them away to have them sharpened....but its not cheap.

    • @markn2904
      @markn2904 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jedidiah, Thanks for the informative response. I could see where this is NOT like a chainsaw that can be relatively easy to sharpen. Of course all cutting tools that are sharp are easier and safer to use.

      They will eat insects, as far as ticks not likely...insects have to be moving for chickens, if they don't move a chicken will never see it, don't you guys watch Jurassic Park lol...Chickens prefer ground ops/ticks are almost always 2' or higher off the ground.

      i agree. If you have to put your whole body weight on it, it needs sharpening. It may look and feel like you are working hard, but it is unnecessarily hard on you and the tool.
