For me, to be free on lust temptation is first in the morning: 1) I'll be grateful to Him for everything He had done in my life 2) Sing 3 songs to glorify Him 3) Forgive my enemies 4) Ask Him to give me the strength to flee from sexual temptations by thinking something good, honorable, just, pure and lovely.
The hardest thing about trying to rekindle your faith is letting go of the sinful past and reassuring yourself that you are still worthy to try again to be a christian. After many sins it becomes hard to change back to the way you were before. This test is so hard.
If anyone had full knowledge of how God loved them and who He is, they would never sin again. But our minds are only finite, and our emotions change. Enjoy Jesus beyond what the flesh offers is critical in the battle. Asceticism helps no one, God created us to have pleasure, the issue is the misuse and abuse of those faculties. So, for God's glory in us, we must submit ourselves to His design and manage our bodies the way He designed them. This means giving up worldly forms of sexualilty and embracing God's design and bringing the flesh into submission to God's will. Furthermore, we harm our ability to enjoy God and love Him, love others, and enjoy the gift of sex when we engage in the selfish, inward sins of porn and masturbation. Diligent prayer, and devotions coupled with developing healthy habits are the steps I'm taking.
