      @rho5539 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MellowJelly agree. she is famous now and is lined up together with these very talented Artists because she is/was a gf of a billionaire. nobody in the music industry give attention to her before because there are "lots of other" female musicians and music producers out there who have been existing even years ago. Spotify and TH-cam could attest to that. so those people who claims that Grimes opened the door to this new music genre or style is so wrong and is a big LIE. but i have to admit she is passionate enough to become "big" to the point that she will have a baby with a very famous man in the planet, because look how famous she is now. that is something admirable about her. but as an Artist, i have to say no she isn't that good at all, and to be lined together with Dolly Parton just shows the politics in the music industry.

    One of these things are not like the other and I have to say, broke my heart a bit seeing an idol of mine playing this "too cool, and too vintage" persona even though she worked with pink. Dolly is certainly an angel helping Grimes not feel so out of place or the least of interest due to experience or genre.

      I heard about that, so scary. I was stalked for years, it was like at least 4-6 years, by a guy I worked with for a couple years.
      I only found out because his wife's lawyer called me because she had found files and files full of photos of me, accounts he was spoofing (like he'd create an Instagram account with the same name as a friend of mine and then pretend to be them and talk to me), all kinds of stuff, and she was using it in their divorce.
      Blew. My. Mind. I had no idea! Not even the slightest clue. Was he following me in person? No one knows, I haven't spoken to him and his wife didn't know either, so it's entirely possible. It totally shifted my perception of reality. It's terrifying to know you can be stalked for so long and not know it!

    Seeing Grimes and Dolly together makes me so happy, I hope that they can make a song together one day. And in the whole album thing, I feel like listening to an album can recontextualize a song. Songs should be made in a way that they work as singles and in an album (if they are going to be out in one). Too many artists back in the day were making songs for an album that aren't great on their own, and too many artists nowadays are creating songs/singles, then throwing them into an album, making it sound like an overglorified playlist.

      Grimes spoke about Joanna Newsom on her ticktock comments, someone had asked her what her fav song and she replied.

    I buy albums. Even if it's just in MP3 form in many cases now, I buy albums. I like having that control over my music and would not want to pay to stream music or put up with ads in it. Plus, I can have my music on the go without a voluntary tracking device (cell phone).

    @ 6:39 - Thank you ladies for talking openly about the current culture of the music industry and music as an art form. This discussion is so sooooo important to have often and now. Music has been dying for years imo and continues to die. Younger generations will not understand how true music is supposed to sound, be, feel, etc... unless they have parents exposing them to this dying art form by playing the albums of true musicians. Today's "music" sounds like a bunch of computer sounds, mostly on a loop, with someone "singing" repeating and totally unsophisticated and empty lyrics that could have been be written by a naughty 10 year old into mommy's Mr. Microphone. Unfortunatly, music has left the building. Music is dead.

    Grimes probably has both the best and worst comments in this video. She’s a very talented artist and just because her music isn’t as popular or mainstream doesn’t make her any less brilliant. I love all these women their all great but grimes and dolly touch me the most.

    I’m not a fan of Grimes music but I respect her opinion and agree with the part where she talks about algorithm. Major label kills the algorithm and just keeps unsigned artists in the dark. But that’s about to change.
