True, but it also makes it much easier to empathize (step in his shoes) with his blindness. Empathy > sympathy. Blindness - or whatever other message this could've been about - is just a bunch of words to some people. They don't have any comprehension of what it might actually be like to experience it; they may have heard about friends or family or others in the news going through the same thing, but haven't given it much thought past the basic concept. And it's probable that none of them will fully comprehend what it's actually like, but it's not their reaction to word choice that should be looked down upon. The problem stems from us being flooded with so much information that we become numbed to these messages (or worse, numbed to appearance), so much so that powerful wording like this is needed to capture our attention and evoke empathy. Or so I would think, and idk how to go about fixing that other than making an effort to become more aware of oneself, and spread that awareness to others when the opportunity presents itself.
