My current age is 13-14. Most of my family and friends have died due to something with either drugs or anything else. Its sad to know that, but you get used to loss. People say that grief isn't a practice doesn't make perfect, but it does with grief. I haven't done drugs, besides legal ones like caffeine, but I know once I may do, I know I would overdoes. I know I want to talk to my family members one last time, but sadly you can't after their dead. I know I have a future, but I choose how I make it.

This is so true, it was my dogs birthday about a year ago, I decided not to take a pic with him because I thought he would survive another birthday, he never did, I never got another picture with him. I died the day I came home to see that he was gone

I'm 37 years young and I lost my mother to Cancer almost 10 months ago. It feels like it was still yesterday that I held her hand while she took her last breath. From her day of diagnosis in mid-July, I quit my job and stood by her side every single day. Ran errands with her, took her to all her appointments, helped her with every chore, and gave her medication. Even before diagnosis, I was/am a mommas boy, and I let it be known that she was my literal angel. Her condition worsened with every passing day until her last breath on October 4th of 2023. Today, I am still empty. My light has been shut off and I just feel like I'm floating by. I still don't know how to go about my day to day life. But one thing is for sure, I made sure I ALWAYS told her how much I loved her, even when she could no longer talk from the metastasis of the cancer. She was my angel. And I just want to write it on here as well, that I LOVE YOU MOM. I loved you then, loved you now, and will love you forever. ❤
The closest thing to this that we had come and talk to the students at my school was a man referred to as "the West Virginia batman" best part was it was a middle school and not a single person really payed any attention to him and I must admit the closed attention I payed to him was just to see if I could figure out how old he was based on the number of years he spent in places like prison and running from the police 😅🤣
he actually came to a school in west virginia on his tour and our school was invited so i got to listen to this speech irl. the crazy thing is that just a month before i saw him in person, i listens to his speech online. but it was still so emotional and i almost cried :’)

My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer last month, I lost my sight when I was 13, and she was there through it all. Now it’s time for me to be there for her. We’re both strong, and even stronger together

@ after 5 months of chemo And a surgery, miraculously my mother is cancer free. She’s so strong. She was able to beat stage 4 cancer. It’s still a fight, the odds of a return are high. The 5 year survival rate is about 30%. But her body was receptive to chemo treatment, and this battle is one I know she can win again if she has to

My mom was/is dominated by my dad. Long ago her "motherhood" was stripped from her from my dad. Living there was a hellish experience. IF you have parents that treat you with love, CHERISH IT!!!! There are those of us who want and long to be loved, but have been beaten down during those young years..... I can't even really explain it. I'm sorry guys....

My mom give birth to me when she was only 18, She did said that she wanted to be a mom to me, but I know deep down how she knew that if she give birth to me that she would lose her freedom but she chose to have me. Oh god I’m emotional now, but I’m alway grateful for my mom for doing that *I’m grateful for everything*

My grandma died from a car crash on November 30, 2020. She hadn't seen me in over four years. I really wish I could've had more conversations with her, and that I could've seen her more often. Nobody is guaranteed tomorrow. Please don't wait to see your loved ones until it's too late.
Absolutely not true. It is on us to reflect every day on our decisions and relationships. A lot of the time change or trauma will cause or force us to reflect on these relationships. Being able to appreciate and make the most of these relationships while we still have them is one of the most important things we can do for ourselves, and one of the most fulfilling, because these relationships won’t last forever. Make sure to let people in your life know how much they mean to you, and if they’re not worth your time, don’t waste any more of it with them. Nothing lasts forever. Make the most of your time in the here and now by learning from the past and then leaving in the past, leave the future in the future, so you can focus on making the most of today.

Mom died of Cancer, just about a year ago, and spending this last Thanksgiving was very difficult, realizing that it wasn't ever going to be the same again. I miss both my parents, who have passed on. I can only believe that they are both watching me live my life, Mistakes and all.
“Your mom died.” Those words will always flood me to tears. I could be having the best day of my life, but to hear those words, it breaks me into a million tiny pieces, and it reminds me of how grateful I am to have the bond I do with my mom.

Very sorry to hear that you lost your mom. I just wanted to share that my father passed away 3 years ago and he told me once that he was so proud of me and that was the best day of my life. I always remember that day and knowing that he was proud of me made everything else not matter as much. It gave me a sense of satisfaction and security. It was one of the best feelings in the world. To all the parents out there, let your children know you love them and that you are proud of them, it’s such a powerful thing for a child to know that their parents are proud of them.

I’m seeing this right after he came to my school, all of my friends and I were in tears by the end of it. My grandma died from cancer when I was little, so when he got to the part where his sister passed away we all immediately broke down into tears. This man is so inspirational. If family is not meeting your emotional needs you need to seek out friends or maybe some group therapy. We all need people to talk to and that honestly care what we are saying. I feel very sorry for your loss. My opinion on this however is a bit different. I believe we will die and rot. All our remembrances will be gone. Yet I believe times lack of mercy is a gift. It keeps us going and forces us to make every day count and it allows us to keep moving because it forces us to.
I loss my mom when I was 15 it's been almost 17 years ago when she passed not a day goes by where I don't think about her my message would be if you parents in your life that love you don't take for granted don't take any of your love ones for granted cause you just never know I would kill not literally to see my mom again even if for five minutes

James Grzelka That is so true. I have heard this phrase many times and it changed my life literally when i moved away from negative friends. I was able to do this when i was born again xtian. I blocked many fb "friends", insta, twitter. spent less time on social media and more time with xtian friends. No regrets. i stopped saying 4 letter words. Spent time reading the BIBLE. Despite tough challenges i face, i never let go of God and family. I am a school teacher now and i reach out to students. It is so rewarding when you can change one young kid's life for the better.

I sat, depressed, in the dark one night, thinking about how I let my mother down. I wondered if anyone else shares the same guilt and remorse. So, I typed into youtube: "I'm so sorry, Mom". This video came up. I cried my eyes out. That was 2 years ago. I did a lot for my mother, but not enough. It will haunt me forever. BE KIND TO PEOPLE, ALL THE TIME; or it will haunt you too.
I'm 64 and I could tell the same story this guy told. When I was 22 years old I called home one day from a vacation I took with a friend and found out my mom died from cancer a week before. I had to fly home in the middle of our trip to the florida keys to go to my moms funeral. She begged me not to go on the vacation but she wouldn't tell me why. My friend and his dope were more important than worrying about my mom being sick. The whole event didn't hit me until I was 36 years old when I had a wake up call. I regret what I did to this day but no I'm not living out my past sorrows. I learned a valuable lesson from that and I hope that anyone reading this will realize that family and your loved ones are more important than anything else. I had the best mom in the world and she did everything for me but when I turned 14 it all went downhill from there. Growing up in the 70s was a very difficult time for a lot of people. I only wish I could go back and do it all over again. Don't let it happen to you...
So she withheld the fact she had cancer from you. Probably for years. At least the partner I lost when she was 22 was honest with me. You are not to blame, you had no idea, you were entirely innocent in that situation. You did nothing wrong, because I can almost guarantee that if you'd have be told the truth you'd have stayed, no argument.

Lost my dad to cancer 12 years ago and it was not the same anymore, and one thing i know he wanted me to take care of my mom and my sister.. So i did that till date... And seeing my mom's smile and my sister looking up to me... I can only thank God for being there by my side ✝️❤
While I was watching this, almost about to end, mom walked into my room and asked if I was watching a film. Of course I was sobbing and I do that even if I see some thriller or comedy. She asked if I was okay and I broke down and hugged her and said I love her , she didn't say anything and hugged me back . That's a mom , all she needs is some love and care in return of every single things she does for us everyday.
This video changed my life. I am now 4 months clean. Thank God I still have my mom, trying to be a good son everyday. I changed my friends, my environment and my life now makes more sense. I know I have already lost some of those big dreams I had as a young boy. But i am rebuilding myself over day at a time.

My current age is 13-14. Most of my family and friends have died due to something with either drugs or anything else. Its sad to know that, but you get used to loss. People say that grief isn't a practice doesn't make perfect, but it does with grief. I haven't done drugs, besides legal ones like caffeine, but I know once I may do, I know I would overdoes. I'm 37 years young and I lost my mother to Cancer almost 10 months ago. It feels like it was still yesterday that I held her hand while she took her last breath. From her day of diagnosis in mid-July, I quit my job and stood by her side every single day. Ran errands with her, took her to all her appointments, helped her with every chore, and gave her medication. Even before diagnosis, I was/am a mommas boy, and I let it be known that she was my literal angel. Her condition worsened with every passing day until her last breath on October 4th of 2023. Today, I am still empty. My light has been shut off and I just feel like I'm floating by. I still don't know how to go about my day to day life. But one thing is for sure, I made sure I ALWAYS told her how much I loved her, even when she could no longer talk from the metastasis of the cancer. She was my angel. And I just want to write it on here as well, that I LOVE YOU MOM. I loved you then, loved you now, and will love you forever. ❤

I’m seeing this right after he came to my school, all of my friends and I were in tears by the end of it. My grandma died from cancer when I was little, so when he got to the part where his sister passed away we all immediately broke down into tears. This man is so inspirational. I hope he continues doing this for a long, long time!!

I feel very sorry for your loss. My opinion on this however is a bit different. I believe we will die and rot. All our remembrances will be gone. Yet I believe times lack of mercy is a gift. It keeps us going and forces us to make every day count and it allows us to keep moving because it forces us to.

James Grzelka That is so true. I have heard this phrase many times and it changed my life literally when i moved away from negative friends. I was able to do this when i was born again xtian. I blocked many fb "friends", insta, twitter. spent less time on social media and more time with xtian friends. No regrets. i stopped saying 4 letter words. Spent time reading the BIBLE. Despite tough challenges i face, i never let go of God and family. I am a school teacher now and i reach out to students. It is so rewarding when you can change one young kid's life for the better.

I'm 64 and I could tell the same story this guy told. When I was 22 years old I called home one day from a vacation I took with a friend and found out my mom died from cancer a week before. I had to fly home in the middle of our trip to the florida keys to go to my moms funeral. She begged me not to go on the vacation but she wouldn't tell me why. My friend and his dope were more important than worrying about my mom being sick. The whole event didn't hit me until I was 36 years old when I had a wake up call. I regret what I did to this day but no I'm not living out my past sorrows. I learned a valuable lesson from that and I hope that anyone reading this will realize that family and your loved ones are more important than anything else. I had the best mom in the world and she did everything for me but when I turned 14 it all went downhill from there. Growing up in the 70s was a very difficult time for a lot of people. I only wish I could go back and do it all over again. Don't let it happen to you...

So she withheld the fact she had cancer from you. Probably for years. At least the partner I lost when she was 22 was honest with me. You are not to blame, you had no idea, you were entirely innocent in that situation. You did nothing wrong, because I can almost guarantee that if you'd have be told the truth you'd have stayed, no argument.

Lost my dad to cancer 12 years ago and it was not the same anymore, and one thing i know he wanted me to take care of my mom and my sister.. So i did that till date... And seeing my mom's smile and my sister looking up to me... I can only thank God for being there by my side ✝️❤
While I was watching this, almost about to end, mom walked into my room and asked if I was watching a film. Of course I was sobbing and I do that even if I see some thriller or comedy. She asked if I was okay and I broke down and hugged her and said I love her , she didn't say anything and hugged me back . That's a mom , all she needs is some love and care in return of every single things she does for us everyday.
