    Good for you. I once loved the thought of Chaing Mai till I survived 3 intense smoke seasons and ended up on an inhaler. I'm currently considering Cha-Am and Hua Hin. Truthfully, I'm in love with Prachuap Khiri Khan about 1.5 hours south of Hua Hin. I hope you make it down there on this trip.

    Khao Takiab is the place to go, nice vibe there and also it has Tamarind and Cicada Markets. No doubt you'll find Blueport and Market Village malls as they're quite hard to miss! Cha Am is worth a visit as well, but crazy busy at weekends (as Hua Hin is) with the Bangkok crowd. Enjoy it Wayne!

    I love Hua Hin. Spent a couple of months there earlier this year during that grim hot season. It's perhaps one of the most underrated places in Thailand, but I totally get the appeal.
    Head to Baan Khun Por (night market) on Soi 88. It's open every day, but far more lively on the weekends. A lot of fun. Cheap food and beers, live music etc. Also very cheap Thai, Western, Mexican, Indian food.

    • @WalkAboutWayne

    Ah my home from home mate, glad you got yourself down there. I hope you got the lay of the land there now and been to the main beach area in front of Centara (my fav hotel!!!) and got to the night market and other markets (Tamarind mkt & Cicada mkt) of an evening. Plus everything you need in Market Village mall. If you want a good choice of food plus some local music (outside of the bars area) get down to the gaunt food court just past the railway lines at the end of Hua Hin 88 Rd 🍲

    • @WalkAboutWayne

    Wayne what websites/booking services do you use to rent out condos in Thailand? Is it easy to find something or better to have booked everything in advance if I wanted to stay in Chiang Mai for a week and then go to Hua Hin, for example.

    • @WalkAboutWayne
      @WalkAboutWayne  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I spent a few days in Hua Hin last month. Took the train down from Bangkok and a van back (the highway to BKK sucks!). I had a Philly cheese steak at Satan's Grill across the street from your Bike rental shop on soi 80 which yes, is a bar street. Pretty quiet though. I stayed at a placed called the Maven Stylish hotel which is just a couple minute walk from that street. Brand new, nice location, good price, will stay there again next visit.

    Good beginning… hope you like it. I remember Bill from UnseenThailand saying he moved there from CM and it didn’t last all that long before he moved back to CM. It looks like it could be in ‘the busy but not too busy’ sweet spot. Curious on how you would find it for people who walk everywhere and if it’s a lot tougher getting by with English. Enjoy the trip!

      Thanks! Yes I did see Bill didn't like it. Not the case for me at the minute, but it is early days. It's a great place. More vlogs about my thoughts on the way.

I would totally eat there I’m a foodie and Thai street food is great i know some are questionable we just have to use our common sense and enjoy 😄

    How often do you travel for vlogs? You ever thought of traveling within Thailand as such but to even greater distances, Like the Muslim in south-south Thailand?

    Hua Hin has become so much busier and with so much traffic over the past ten years or so. That main road running south is awful and dangerous. i liked it there a couple of decades ago.

    • @WalkAboutWayne
      @WalkAboutWayne  ปีที่แล้ว

      Lot's of people have said that so far. It's been dead since I been here really, lovely clear roads.

    • @cookietulis6252
      @cookietulis6252 ปีที่แล้ว

      Additionally now, particularly on the weekends, everyone has started taking the back streets - which are mostly more like alleys really - in order to avoid the traffic maelstrom on the main road. They really aren't set up the handle the amount of cars and bikes, which typically are racing through at double the appropriate speed. As a pedestrian it feels hideously dangerous.

    Having available pure land race Thai Sativa would be a plus for Thailand, and cheap on top of it, whereas I have heard tell that pure Thai is very much the top shelf of all cannabis as evaluated by many aficionados. By taking pot and leaving pot so much any more, I would spend a minuscule amount on that stuff, and pure Thai would be all I would pretty much need. Sobriety is precious: I just never want to abuse it, by overdoing it.
