I love that you were at least man enough to not edit that epic fail out of the video that worked well for how and what not to do and how you just kept rolling with it.. glad your alright
Ok - I’ve only just seen the title. I’m 1 second in. I already know this is going to be epic. Mark and fire. What could possibly go wrong!! Edit: just saw the flare up! Love your work mate.
I bought one of those gas can adaptors and the compact gas burner and compact cooking set from Biker Bits a few years ago. I travelled throughout NZ and cooked every day and night with them. It saved me many hundreds or even thousands of dollars, compared to eating out two or three times per day over many weeks. In Australia, it all has a permanent place in my 4WD and is ready for any bike ride occasion. Very pleased with my purchase.
You are greatly entertaining. I'm sure you got this comment several times, but I was afraid you were going to blow yourself up... Exciting, but frightening. The first time I lit my father-in-law's Coleman stove, I thought I was going to blow myself up. I did something out of order and the flame jumped out of the stove and went down the hill where we were camping. It was exciting, I am glad nobody was watching me. That's what I get for trying to get a head start on breakfast. I was glad the motorcycles were up the hill. I just watched earlier this week you're thrilling exercise of a wheelie going bad. That was also entertaining. I think we have all done that. I am sure glad you are okay after your wheelie experience. Then you try to blow yourself up with a stove. We live a world apart, but we have both done the same dumb stuff. Human males, we can't help it. Thank you Mark for the entertainment.
Holly cow! I wrote camp baking with a canister stove in the search, I had no idea I was going to watch you nearly baking yourself! I’m glad nothing happened although I must admit I chuckled a little. I just had to subscribe.👍🏻
I had no plans to use anything except for isobutane canisters, and this is good motivation to stick with that plan lol Thanks for being a big enough man to share your mistakes with others as you learn from them, that was a fun watch. :)
“Bloody close one mate” I’m worried now about how I use my gas stove that I bought from you last year, if you remember you taught me how to setup and use the stove and canister. 🔥🤨🔥🤨😱😱lol
Awesome Mark. Love learning how to do something by seeing how not to do it 🤣🤣 Been using that adaptor for a few years now after seeing you use it. Great tool and a cheap way to make a cuppa
Hi Mark, i have the 2nd stove you showed and use the aerosal cans with an adapter as they are much cheaper here in the UK than the round canisters you showed.I didnt know about the arrows on the cans so will have to check if we have that on our cans here. I use a stubby holder to stop the can rolling when in use. Also you are so right about having part filled cans as i always take a fresh can if I go on a trip. Keep up the great videos and stay away from fire lol
Great vid Mark, bought one straight away (just rocked/found it outside just now). Its going to be a great upgrade to the esbit alcohol stove. Ill have a laugh each time i fire it up when i remember the brutal and hilarious departure of your eyebrows👌
God, I had a similar hair-burner situation refilling a butane torch years ago! I'm so glad you posted this, it gave me a much needed laugh remembering my own situation, haha!!!
Great video mate and nice to see you showing products you sell I laughed like mad when the cooker and gas came apart and the look on your face was classic, excellent stuff 👍🇦🇺
Do you reckon it is safe to cook right ontop (with a pocket rocket or something with adaptor) of a long gas canister refill alongside with an enlarged base?
With the non cheaper gas canisters, once you plug the stove onto it, do you have to use it in one sitting or can you use the canisters like the cheaper one- more than once
Thanks Mark you are full of good information, its handy to know the correct way to attach the Butane Canisters, I use them all the time, great value for money.... David...Adelaide.....Tiger 900GT....
Cheers Mark. I fell off my chair and woke up the family laughing. Cant script this shit 🤣🤣🤣 I might have to break out my bikerbits kit tomorrow in the cave for a lockdown lunch. 👍👍
Kmart here in Rocky has the 227g Campmaster 74%Butane/26%Propane mix cans for $4.50 each. That's 3 times the price of a 220g butane can(Kmart$4.50 - 3pk) but that's still far cheaper than the camping stores.
Difference in price is because the other cartridges have a mixture of different fuels so they can be better utilised for differing conditions. Companion canisters have a mixture of 45% butane, 28% isobutane and 26% propane,
Came to say the same thing. The n-butane cheapy is fine in mild weather at sea level, but as you rise/cool you'll experience lower vapour pressure and poorer performance.
Nice one Mark, that's one way check your heart rates alright..I jumped as well there!! Funksake....Ha. Gas & me don't get on the best either...Cheers mate. 😉🏴👍
Mark, with the second stove, I assume it is designed for the canister to be upright with the stove sitting up on a box or something beside it???? That to me makes your stove and adapter far better suited to use on a bike trip where you’ll be cooking on the ground.
The arrows on the canister are telling you to put the canister on its base and use it upright, not which side to lay it on. The gas in the canister is actually a liquid as it is under high pressure and the flare ups are excess quantities of the liquid propane/butane flooding the stove. Only petrol and kero stoves and a special "inverted canister" gas stove have fuel canisters that are typically used lying on their sides.
Sorry, but you are wrong. He is right. These are for what in Asia we call picnic stoves, or butane barbecue stoves. In all these applications the canister lies flat, but cutout tab up as that prevents flare ups.
Hahaha, bloody terrifying. Just watching that got my heart rate up. But, I had a good laugh afterwards! Well done mate, I loved watching it and I know it was all deliberate for educational purposes 😂😂😂👍. Bloody classic, I think this will become cult viewing. Take care brother 👍
I have the second stove on the video, but I pulled the legs off and made a plate to fit my trangia it was a cheaper way of adapting it to gas and its wind proof even works in a gale but you must pack thin paper between the pots to stop the pots rubbing together so the aluminium doesn't rub into a fine powder when adventure riding on rough roads like the Birdsville track, its a much better system, boils water fast and everything is contained in the kit.
They're not the same mate, the expensive ones are a mix of propane and butane and work a lot better in colder temperaters (down to 0c). The cheap ones are butane and pretty useless below 7c as butane has a higher evaporation point. Cheers.
Why you don't do cooking, even just heating up some water, in the tent. No overhead light to burn. And that's a must for a true down under adventure. :-)
9:30 those things are garbage. There's a rubber hose inside that metal. I had flames shooting out of the hose the 1st time I used it and it went right into the trash.
I love that you were at least man enough to not edit that epic fail out of the video that worked well for how and what not to do and how you just kept rolling with it.. glad your alright
Stoves, lighter, gas cannisters & Mark - what could go wrong!
Flameout!!! 🔥 🤣👍
Most honest stove review imaginable. Love it...

Just finished my first week back to school. Student were great ! Friday night drink and then BAM !!!! Mark just made it even better !
Classic Mark, just awesome !!
If I ever turn on the news and it says kangaroo flat man died in gas explosion I'll know who it is straight away lol
Well, that was entertaining. Thanks for showing us what not to do 🤪
I had no plans to use anything except for isobutane canisters, and this is good motivation to stick with that plan lol
Thanks for being a big enough man to share your mistakes with others as you learn from them, that was a fun watch. :)
Thanks mate! 👍
You dont need a script Mark your funny regardless. Thanks for tips here cheers
We learn from our mistakes. There is great benefit in learning from other peoples mistakes !
Top video. Shows that even the most experienced Camper can occasionally have an exciting day. 😄😂🤣😇
That last stove you showed is what i use, but i stand the bottle up, that way no flare ups because liquid gas cant come out.
Man, that was genuinely stressing me out and I'm not even there. Glad I could learn from it though hahaha Nice video.
“Bloody close one mate” I’m worried now about how I use my gas stove that I bought from you last year, if you remember you taught me how to setup and use the stove and canister. 🔥🤨🔥🤨😱😱lol
Made my day Mark, thanks, good to see I'm not the only one that has Sh!t like that happen. Cheers from Canada.
LOL Good Onya mate! 👍
Awesome Mark. Love learning how to do something by seeing how not to do it 🤣🤣 Been using that adaptor for a few years now after seeing you use it. Great tool and a cheap way to make a cuppa

I re-watched that flare up 3x times , hilarious 😆
Great balls of fire batman, that certainly lit up the night sky over Bendigo. 😀👍👨🚒🚒
Your not wrong you definitely couldn't script this sort of shit 😂😂😂 I'm nearly dying of laughter.
Just wet myself, please keep makin’ these vids - laughter is the best tonic 😅😁👍🏻
Never a dull moment! A must have for any moto camping. Glad your face is intact, stay safe *T4S* 👍🍻

Yes!

As many times as you like! 👍
I recommend Fire-Maple Wifi adapter, its lock canister very solid.
Let your mates do the cooking on the ride about’s. Always a pleasure. Glad your ok.
Hot topic today Mark.
Thanks Mark you are full of good information, its handy to know the correct way to attach the Butane Canisters, I use them all the time, great value for money.... David...Adelaide.....Tiger 900GT....
Cheers Mark. I fell off my chair and woke up the family laughing. Cant script this shit 🤣🤣🤣
I might have to break out my bikerbits kit tomorrow in the cave for a lockdown lunch. 👍👍
Hey Mark, we all have done the flare up trick a few times, as always mate it’s a good vid.
Cheers
Shane.

Lost my shit on that flare-up!! Too funny!! Thats Gold Mark

Yep, others are for the mountain tops.
Hey Mark you can also get a refill adaptor for the bigger canisters to refill them from a 9kg gas bottle
Sorry don't know!
Holy shit you scared the crap out of me 😅
Mark and fire 🔥 as compatible as water and electricity ⚡️
Nice one Mark, that's one way check your heart rates alright..I jumped as well there!! Funksake....Ha. Gas & me don't get on the best either...Cheers mate. 😉🏴👍
You are a classy act bro 😎

I never knew about the gas canister arrow up, thanks.

That was funny mate 🤣 old mark🔥
🤣🤣🤣🤣 thanks for the laughs mate! Love ur videos and Sence of humor

I had to watch the flame thrower several times 🤣😅😄😃😀
There’s a valve on eBay to transfer gas from the tall into the pot looking gas canisters 2.49
I never knew that about the gas cannisters. I've learned something today. I assume you still have your eyebrows. 😁
Bro that was awesome glad nothing bad happened and iam sher it will be me soon lol thanks for the vid 🎉🎉
Awesome video mate thankyou
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 That was great Mark!
😂🤣 very entertaining thank you 🤣😂😂
Caught this after my labor day camping trip .
Oh man that was funny as fu*k, just what I needed on a Friday night, pissing rain, and in lockdown.. Going to stick with my Jet Boil I reckon.. LOL
When filling the lighter, hold the gas canister upside down so you get the liquid gas into the lighter 👍
Is your parents house still standing or did it get burnt down when you were a kid?
Concerning the price of the canisters - just bought a refill adapter!
Absolute classic….I’ll show you what not to do! How’s the beard Mark? Still laughing 10 minutes after watching this episode
Best camping stove is the camp fire, after seeing this I will try a gas stove.
I must not be the only one that's had to send you an email about the adapter after buying it from you lol
Nope your not alone! 😀👍
This instructional video could go either way. It could be useful as in Nero Burning ROM software, or a disaster as in Emperor Nero burning Rome!
For more safety tips.... read the bloody instructions ! Good fun video mate.
Absolute Gold 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You have as much luck with fire as I do with sharp instruments haha 🤪😂
Mark and fire enough said.
Hey Naomi
Check the house insurance and his life insurance policy ......quick. 🤣🤣🤣🍻
LOL 🤣
They're not the same mate, the expensive ones are a mix of propane and butane and work a lot better in colder temperaters (down to 0c). The cheap ones are butane and pretty useless below 7c as butane has a higher evaporation point.
Cheers.
So they are selling less volume of gas for the same price? that's an example of shrinkflation.
Why you don't do cooking, even just heating up some water, in the tent. No overhead light to burn. And that's a must for a true down under adventure. :-)
Its not a Mark video without a bit of flame 🤣
"Do as I say, not as I do." 😄
9:30 those things are garbage. There's a rubber hose inside that metal. I had flames shooting out of the hose the 1st time I used it and it went right into the trash.
Hell of a salesman. 😂
Bloody hell mate, you soil them trousers for sure yea?
I'm glad you dtill have your facial hair😂 Mark.

Hahahaha what a classic. I think you should look for a battery stove great video
So funny I had to show the wife and she thought that errant flame was hilarious. Don’t try this at home 😂
After watching video I have but 2 words "Be Careful!"
Hhhiiiisssss…..Boooooom!! Lol
I’m crying 😂🤣😂👍🏻
Next, I will demonstrate Russian roulette.... and pay close attention... I can only do this once.
(Sorry Mark, only joking...I couldn't resist it)
Really glad that butane canister didn't cook off on you...
Me Too! 🤣
This dude has a Suzuki dr-650 somewhere in that garage
