I melted my 400i for this StarMAX and I'm very happy with that decision. They are not really comparable in terms of intended use and utility, but for the same price, you get a lot more ship. I think the StarMAX oozes personality and has a ton of utility. Fully crewed, it can be loaded and unloaded very quickly and easily. The 2 top mounted turrets are also very good for keeping the skies clear while you load up cargo while on the ground. I love it👍
@@Citizen-Bob No no, you're all wrong. The two red spinny things are mini wormholes to Pyro!! Especially useful for dumping illegal narcotics and corpses through when you get scanned by security🤣👍
@Orginal_Sinner Freelancer Mis: Starlancer Tac Freelancer Max: Starlancer Max Freelancer Dur: ...Starlancer Trek? And the Starlancer BLD is a whole new addition.
This is the Freelancer I never knew I wanted. Cargo grid setup with room for a vehicle. Drop down cargo grid portion is easy enough to work with. I personally love using this ship.
You mention Star Citizen using fuses in space ships. I was thinking the same thing! Fuses are obsolete, even now. LOL... The use of circuit breakers would have been better, so they could just be reset, and not physically replaced, dropped/lost.
Possibly, but not by much: this ship is very slow and cannot really become a good fighting asset. Making it hopeless by giving it Starfarer controls would kill it.
@Leptospirosi ... absolutely. This ship needs to be able to pitch-and-roll effectively to leverage those upper-turrets. If they reduce maneuverability... then they need to alter one of the turret positions. Personally, I believe they would be making a huge-mistake in doing this. Mastering the unique-mechanics for a dorsal-turret was one of my favorite-aspects of planes like the P-61 Blackwidow in War Thunder. The asymmetric-advantages a skilled-pilot has with these turrets against lighter-fighters are incredible. Having two beefy-ones on this agile of a gunship... will absolutely shock most-people. Note: I can't imagine them touching the controls. MISC is the manufacturer identified as having the most advanced propulsion and control.
I got rid of my MAX for a Zeus, but gonna get rid of that too and go back to a RAFT, seems like that boat is going to fulfill what I want from a cargo ship, tho definitely will hurt not to have the versatility of the Zeus. This is a nice review mate, I feel your pain, CGI ignores all older ships and just goes after the attention whoring for the new ones :| but oh well, money is the ruler.
I promised to myself that if they work on the Freelancer the way I would want they to work, i'll re-buy one. Right now I'm enjoying my Zeus, a pretty nice daily.
For the same price a lot of people compare it to the Corsair. Completely different ships. If they'd un-gimp the Corsair (give the pilot back all of the guns and use the whole cargo grid) there would be no comparison for me. Mostly the only cargo I carry is recovered from bounty ships I shoot down. But gimped, what does the Corsair even offer anymore?
I made the mistake of melting my vulture thinking i would be safe buying in game. When that soft patch happened, i ended up losing it and didn't have enough money to replace it. Had to grind, but someone was willing to give me some money to buy it. I will eventually give the money back.
The fuses is the pinnacle of the uninspired vision of the future. E.g. terminals (gone in the 90s), multicrew ships (already questioned in today's aviation), touchscreen to open ships (never invented, because complete useless), energy management (skipped after the steam age), all is a abuse on the art of real world engineering ...
400i stole the front entry ladder from the Freelancer. I wish they had given it back to the Starlancer. Freelancer was buggered and disrespected by someone in CIG. Weak.
I think that space could be used for so many creative ways. Imagine a whole collection of Pico carefully placed on the dashboard... how cool that would be!
For the relative competition of size and price, what other ship can take 6x 32scu crates plus 2x URSA rovers? Forget the paper stats, it loads up very well and very easily in practice and the two top turrets can keep the skies clear while loading up on the ground. It's a fantastically well thought out ship, have run a bunch of missions in it fully crewed and it's very impressive. If you ignore the cargo grid and just stuff boxes anywhere you can fit them, the StarMAX carries upto 420scu in total. The rear cargo bay also takes 4x Furys or 2x Merlins, which is a lot of fun and again, very impressive.
Don't forget: this is an Exploration/Industrial ship that people don't seem to understand at-the-moment. It features a scanner most overlook; it's a fixed-mast atop the ship... mid-body. Additionally, it hasn't been showcased, yet... but the co-pilot is slotted-into the "Sensor and Radar-command" for this ship. The MAX also features an integrated and partially-concealed "Exploration and Data-running-hub" between the Recreation and Habitation Areas. This is the most incredible-ship in-the-game, right-now... in my opinion. Throw in wonderful maneuverability and combat-capacity on-top of everything-else, as-well.

heck! How could I have missed it! Now I can fly my Carrack toy model all the way to Pyro!
Agreed makes me wonder if they'll make a star lancer durr or mis now
@Orginal_Sinner
Freelancer Mis: Starlancer Tac
Freelancer Max: Starlancer Max
Freelancer Dur: ...Starlancer Trek?
And the Starlancer BLD is a whole new addition.
I've watched a ton of these Starlancer videos, and no one has mentioned that the windows in front of the gunner seats have closable blast shields.
They were broken in the one they gave me... you know... rentals...🤥
I have! 😄
Subliminal hit them by accident.
This is the Freelancer I never knew I wanted. Cargo grid setup with room for a vehicle. Drop down cargo grid portion is easy enough to work with. I personally love using this ship.
I still think that with some well-deserved updates the freelancer could close the gap with the Starlancer a little. It just needs some love!
1:22 I love how it's wearing sunglasses. It's that cool.
In full MISC tradition, the pilot is sitting 45 feet from the windshield.... Got me good on that one. 🤣🍻
In this ship, the space between the seats and the windscreen is so wide that it could even become useful for something imaginative! 🧐
Love the dashboards and cockpit style of MISC
So many picos in that dashboard!
You mention Star Citizen using fuses in space ships. I was thinking the same thing! Fuses are obsolete, even now. LOL...
The use of circuit breakers would have been better, so they could just be reset, and not physically replaced, dropped/lost.
00:45 but when someone with that hair walks out of the hospital I would go into full panick mode myself......
I think you are probably right...😄
I love the Starlancer nice and snappy controls for keeping nose on though I am 100% sure this will be nerfed
I'm afraid you are right... too bad... it flies like a butterfly!
Sadly 😥

Twin flux capacitors! I'm sold!
Great Scott!
hey bob !
glad you did the video, she's realy high quality (like all the others)
i have good fun watching it !
Thanks as always, my dear!

I signed up the check for the washer and the dryer: you cannot be a real star Citizen without a proper laundry: not even Origin offers that!
Still... origin provides for the 600i, The iron you need for pressing creases out of clothes
For the same price a lot of people compare it to the Corsair. Completely different ships. Washer and Dryer. 👍
They are very useful when it's raining outside in the space and you can't hang out laundry
También vendí mi querida Freelancer Dur 😒
I still miss her sometimes... I feel you, my friend!
part of me really wants to trade in my vulture for one of these...but can't give that thing up T-T
Don't do that. Everyone should own a Vulture!
@@Citizen-Bob i do love my vulture...the feel of it. the layout. only thing i wish it had was a pilot-controlled tractor beam in the cargo bay!

@azntactical4884 vulture is a derpy lil bird. But its a good bird.

Freelancer needs tons of love from all of us!
I hate this huge dashboard. If it won't be changed I have to melt this ship.
I think that space could be used for so many creative ways. Imagine a whole collection of Pico carefully placed on the dashboard... how cool that would be!
starlancer is meh... for a ship that should be a cargo ship... there is not much of a cargo there.
It's not a cargo ship. it's MISC FUN ship!!! 😁

I easily put over 350 scu in it.
