when the police officer said "he was always on the top of our charts" -
The detective man say Snow stabbed someone down the lane.
Yo, that is one of the funniest things I've heard someone say.
Gotta the rawness of the 90s
@@MrParkerman6ah licky boom boom dowwwn
The early 90s was a hell of a fun time and place to be. It was to be the last true decade of love and fun. Thank you for laying down the soundtrack to it, Mr Prince. You guys did something extraordinary. Anyone who was there will always know Informer.
Thanks Jeremy......One love
Yea man. Crazy track
It had all the good things we have now and none of the bad stuff. The internet was free and open the music was curated and even the heroin was safer
For real!!! What a great time for music...the last great time for music. Was never the same after the 90s...
Police officer :Yeah he was on top of our charts.
Canada's most wanted man.
My childhood friend used to dance to “Informer” all the time when we were kids, he passed away in a car accident out in LA in 2009, he was only 25 years old, great memories, 90’s was the best, I still be bumping this in 2021 #RIPJullian

Snow is a Legend of Canada to me
It's cool to see this video I was born in 87 and you see nobody with phones all in they hands. Man this was a dope time
The guy actually has a great R&B singing voice. Sounds almost exactly like Lead singer of Colour Me Bad.
Great observation he reminds me of the lead singer!
Yeah same era too. I would love to see more straight singing in
Omg he does! Legit

GREAT Documentary. With out DJ PRINCE there would have been NO SNOW!
BIG UP MARVIN PRINCE.
Yeah big up to Marvin and Snow and the rest of the crew back in the days in Ajax and Pickering. Came to Canada from Jamaica in 1988 met these guys and we became friends. Never forget were you came from thanks for the memories guys. A me man Marcus Respect 👊🏾. Reds ,Tyrone , Big Mikey , Dean , Ian, Dog Foot , Junior, Rev, and others give thanks!
Jim Carrey’s parody of that song on
In Living Color was hilarious 😂
What an amazing friendship between SNOW and PRINCE....I love seeing people to whom life was cruel, catch a break and use their uniqueness to reach the stars 🌠

12 inches of snow is one of the best hip hop albums ever.
He was definitely in my cassette tape play list back in the 90's.. one of my favorites.. the white boy before Shady.

Didn't realize it was the actual DJ who uploaded this. Really amazing documentary and important part of Canadian music history. Really cool to see the time on the road in those days. Snow lives on!
I STILL jam to Snow today. I was just a teenager when his album came out and even my mom liked him! She was amazed I could understand the words and learn them lol.
I'm sure I'm dating myself here but imagine if snow and bizzy bone did a track... I think their flows would go great together
This dude put more work in and has more street cred than 90 percent of these chump ass fake ass rappers today. Superfact!
Not more then Jim Carrey’s imposter
Yep. New rappers let the production do all the work. If the power went out there lack of talent would be exposed. It's smoke and mirrors
I can’t take any one who says superfact serious
@@mrfake675man… I can send you some real rap that probably ain’t no one ever gon hear because of the lack of production
I remember hearing this song on the radio back in the 90’s, great memories 🙏🏻🤘🏻🇨🇦

Americans didn't see it that way. Especially hip hop heads.
Thats a legend right there...
Snow has just that something in his voice and songs that still make me listen to his music in 2019...and i cant get sick of hearing that beautiful voice

Snow was fire and had a very original sound. I remember him getting so much shit in the 90’s and fizzled out. Jim Carey and in living color kind of buried him. I bump his shit now in 2019 it’s hard body af
The whole album rides
😅
“ Watered Down Reggae “
Jim Carey was a fool 😂
He was hardly any of that but he had fun and a good run..shout out to MC Shan
Most gangster rap artists are posers. The whole issue of authenticity and cultural appropriation is ridiculous. Every culture borrows from another!
Informer and Ice Ice Baby stand on their own and are as good and authentic as most other rap music. My only complaint is that the whole genre of rap and hip hop tends to glorify misogyny, gang violence, consumerism and unbridled ego.
Sad to see good people getting betrayed, however, those good people always receive the ultimate blessings💪🏾💪🏾One Love Prince🇯🇲
Wow that’s deep. In other words, if you achieve greatness and don’t get the rewards instantly, it will come even more one day
I once had the honour and pleasure of meeting him and I have to say he is one the realest cats out there. He's very down to earth and humble if didn't know who he was you would never know he's a celebraty.
Loved this dudes music back in elementary school. I played lady in the red dress one time in my music class. ❤😂

Before Eminem.....There was Snow, with all the charisma, style, flow and vibe.......👊🏾💯🔥
At the time he was accused of being a culture vulture, a poser like Vanilla Ice, but he never came out and promoted his street cred because he didn't care. He was actually a real one.
They played this song all the time in Gold's Gym in Las Vegas in 1993.
I'm working on doing a great karaoke version of Informer for my 40th bday. Lololol, dream big!! (But honestly, it's not easy, I dare anyone to give it a try to keep pace w/Snow). ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Back then cultural appropriation wasn’t on people’s minds.
The talent shone through
he was the Eminem of reggae/hip hop/rap in a sense
M. O.G. fuck femeniem
Eminem busted into the rap scene with not just a skill, but a high performance level that arguably puts him with one of, if not, the greatest.
Snow gets props; but you can't say the same about him. Dude was fucking up his life & thanks to di yardi dem, music became his saviour. Eminem was ALWAYS into his music & came up, paid dues & went through it. Snow started DJ-ing in jail & got put on after a trip to NY.
Both had their respective come up stories, but they're two different stories and are NOT equal in their respective genres.... PERIOD!
dude hes been around way before EM.. and there's a bunch of white rappers before EM by the way.
Wait! What? Whatchu talkin bout arnold? Yo you need to read up on your history kid.

"A lot of us associate rap music with Jamaica.." Wait, what?
Do some research you will be surprised
Indeed! We do not associate it we KNOW it is from Jamaica.
Yeah, chanting was well before rap. It's the EXACT same thing just with a Caribbean accent over reggae.
Your an idiot, go listen to wacktrap puss.
I was thinking the same thing. A lot of people associate rap music with New York is more accurate.
When the president of Warner Canada says he's never heard of someone getting out of prison and making an album... In 1993..........murdahmurdahmurdah was da case that they gave me!

Where SNOW grew up (Allenbury Gardens Public Housing, North York, Toronto) and where Keanu Reeves went to school (North Toronto Collegiate Institute) were actually VERY close to each other. Roughly 9 KM or 5.6 Miles !!

One hit wonder, but he was talented. The stuff he did was too niche at the time. It was too chill. They would fit right in now. He'd be selling today.
He wasn't a one hit wonder though. He had a few top 10/number 1/ and top 50. Even in the states he charted high enough not to be in the one hit wonder category.
"One hit wonders" will ALWAYS be better than a "Never was"!!
