Jamie has the pre-facelift model whereas with the facelift they've fixed the stiff suspension issue! I'm saving up to get the 2016/17 model.
I owned a Golf R and completely agree, the S3 and Golf R are perfect for all rounders. I know families who use them for their kids and have fun on the weekends. Especially the S3 you don't feel connected to the car at all.
I dont when you will see this but I'm from south Africa n i watch your videos n prefer them than too gear... continue with your work you explain n give a better feeling

This is a wicked car, but the RS3 is best in class for sure. The 5pot is too good in comparison to the 2.0 turbos. The BMW 140i/240i would come a close second.

the rs3 is faster in a straight line, no question, the A45 has a better chassis, most definitely. the rs3 gives you no warning before it starts to lose traction at all. That's a major weakness.its a great daily driver though.
the focus RS is a beast...it's fantastic for the price apart from engine issues.
the civic type R is fastest around a track and is quite exceptional.
the M140i is rear wheel drive and that's great for pure driving pleasure but starts to lose the plot at higher speeds. it's not a bullet like the A45 on corners and high speed and all weather conditions. The A45 is in need of a refresh. this year you can expect them to raise the bar with it . everyone will be playing catch up until the next refresh from audi most likely .
of other cars in that price point , there exists the M2 which is the best drivers car.
It just depends what the most important thing is for each person.
Depends on how much money you have to burn. a fully loaded rs3 can cost 60k+...That's M3 territory. That's silly money.
Andy P the m140 is the best car for the money by a mile. The RS is quite slow for what it is and its got horrible interior. The AMG and rs3 are considerably more money for not much more car and less cyclinders.

The real kicker is the new version of the engine in the new RS3, it is built like a rock and rolls 500HP on a tune and intercooler. 500 HP STAGE 1 from a 2.5 litre!
Value for money M140i runs away with it and honestly is the most fun, the RS3 and A45 are only fun when you get on it, and getting on it is license losing in both those cars, the M140i can at least be fun at slower speeds.

Awesome vid..... I know what you saying about M3 in wet... however in the dry it a complete animal... I like the hot hatches if done right... RS3, GTI, R, A45 AMG, Cupra R etc... most are very impressive, thankyou both for the test drive...

I went from an Audi S3 8v to an A45 like the owner here aswell and i can say in my opinion, the S3 handled way better and the power delivery was so much better in the S3. my A45 always understeers my S3 never did, i have owned my A45 for just over a month and have sold it as i was so disappointed, car is getting picked up tomorrow... A45 looks amazing, sounds amazing and top end is great but the S3 looks brilliant, low end has so much poke and is so much more fun to drive!! this is my opinion!

The Golf R handles the best out of all of them.. Put them all on the street and the Golf R will keep up with all of them. A45 also handle great but aren't really that fast. RS3 monster fast but don't handle great.
The upshifts honestly sounded like when u pull up the hand break w out holding the bottom,I can get why people would like the sound tho

Great video! I drove a stock A45 a while back, it was really fun to drive. But I do see what you mean by the power, it doesn't really kick in until you really push the car, it's not like a V8 AMG with effortless power, but it's still fast.
i didn't even test drive this car but opted for gla 45 yellow night ..all i can say is ive got a hayabusa and don't mess around on it its my second busa got 9.97 down the quarter mile this car is impressive and the a45 is an inch lower so would be a touch better around the bends.. i wanted a little more comfortable ..depends on your age under 35 go the a45 ..im trying to loose traction in mine around very sharp bends to get the limit very hard to find very fast around bends ..very happy with it doing 4.3 to 100kph at best 12.5 for quarter mile my bike does 2.8 to 100kph ..skyline r35 is same times as my bike thats quick if you got 150 grand to spend

Golf R, stage 1/2 ECU tune, intake, downpipe, iPE exhaust...still my preference.
