The early A45 DCT was like that. However if you get Mercedes to apply the latest software updates to the box that totally fixes it. I had mine done and it transformed the car.

I’m experiencing loss of boost at higher speeds in my A45 - motorway speeds you can feel it die off. Doesn’t happen all the time but is noticeable when it happens. Thinking it may be loose / worn wastegate but will be sure to check coolant. How much was the just the turbo repair ? Seems like a common issue the more I look into it but luckily not that expensive and relatively simple to sort.

Calvin I have a pre facelift cla45amg same engine and mine had the same common fault, it’s the wastegate on the turbos the bushings wear out causing an underboost, strangely on mine also there was no fault code or lights on dash, I had to buy new turbo as the wastegate is a complete part to the turbo but after the new one I have full boost all the time problem was solved👍🏼 ps, mine had the exact symptoms as yours gave me full power one minute (usually when cold) and the hardly any boost when warm intermittently
I also got a refurbished turbo from turbo technics😂👌🏼

Interesting question Calvin… Which one would you pick to daily? The A45 or the S3?
I’ve still not concluded this dilemma myself. The A45 is a bit small for my liking so the S3 wins there but it has so much more character than the S3. They both book at around the same value as well so the price isn’t even a decider. No idea 😂

You are paying for him being amazing and his knowledge. £80 and hour isnt expensive when you take his overheads into account.

Considering his rent, business rates, bills, equipment, tools plus his unique level of knowledge I’d say it’s a reasonable price. We’re all different though which I think is always worth mentioning 👌
90 and hour is going rate for most specialists

An ex-meth Stage 3 A45 on 117k with turbo issues, aftermarket parts and a gearbox that was not tuned along with the engine map does not strike me as a car that is going to last very long after it is won
