I appeared as a contestant on Couch Potatoes in 1989. The three episodes are posted on my TH-cam channel. Marc was great and made the show lots of fun!
20:16 I admire the fact that was his knee-jerk response to just bringing up the subject of opening it. I remember going there when I was like seven or eight and it is one of my favorite childhood memories.
first youtube video I have ever come across in my 15 year career as of right now with a 100% like ration. 3,800 people in unison haven't one word or though to say negatively about this man - incredible - a total one off - never seen it before - put this up with your top accomplishments Mr. Summers.
Fantastic interview, loved all the great stories. Do wish he talked a little more about the Double Dare reboot and what he thought of it and why it didn't last long. Personally I loved What Would You Do as a kid, but yeah it doesn't really hold up. Very interesting how his relationship with Food Network started, I had watched Emeril and Ready Set Cook but watching Marc on Unwrapped was what really hooked me onto the channel.
Glad you enjoyed the interview! We did talk a bit more about the reboot, but we had to cut for time for some of the more unique stories! At some point we may include extra portions of interviews we've done in the past!
I was at the first Double Dare Live! tour date or around the first one in 2018. Marc and Robin are amazing people. It was such a dream come true!!! Thanks for interviewing him as well! : D
Amazing interview.they did a great job.I've been a fan of double dare, since i was growing up in beech grove indiana.it's one of my all time favorites,i hope you interview jenny mccarthy from mtv's singled out.it would be great.
This is going to be so exciting! Marc Summers!! I set my VCR to record so I can watch it over and over! Thank you Adam! Your well produced shows are wonderful!
Thank you! We've done 3 seasons already (time flies!) with 6 episodes each. We have a very special reunion show premiering Friday 4/30. There will eventually be a Season 4 as well!
Another great episode, thank you! Since his name was brought up, I have to wonder.....any possibility of Wesley Eure as a guest next season? He had quite a career even beyond his "Finders Keepers" hosting and from everything I've seen over the years with and involving him, he seems like a real cool dude. I think he'd be a great interview! And if you wanted to extend your "hosts" definition to include announcers, I'd add Randy West to the wish list too!
Especially loved the Lightning Round segment! I think History IQ is due for a reboot, too. Also makes me wonder if the Archvies have that Nova Quiz special...
As one who grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs, I was SO GLAD to hear that Marc doesn't put Cheese Whiz on his cheesesteaks. That's the #1 way to recognize a tourist 😛! (Oh, and nice job as always Adam!)
I love these videos! When Nick was doing the tour of their game shows around the country back in the day (1990’s) I was lucky enough to participate in a Double Dare stunt unfortunately Marc wasn’t there. I was the overall winner. I have a host request Mike O’Malley from Nickelodeon GUTS!! I need that interview to happen! Please?
I would love to see an interview of the cast of Where in Time Is Carmen Sandiego? My favorite time traveling kids game show while saving history. I want to know how they did the villains voice and which episode was there favorite while filming. But my biggest question to them would be is would they love to see a serious reboot and which villain would make a return in the reboot
Hopefully we’ll see a rare episode of trivia unwrapped I consider Mark a good candidate to host Jeopardy why they haven’t considered him as a guest host is beyond me
I know what you mean, he sadly wasn't considered for The Price is Right either, surprisingly. Marc is one of those people that's "Iconic" and "Underrated" all at the same time. He really needs a talk show or podcast, HELL, put him on NPR or something!!!!
The behind the scenes stuff was, according to Marc in this interview and on Stu's show a couple years ago. Henry Winkler had a hand in producing it in late 2002, around the time he started producing Squares.
Dude.... now you are just goofing with labeling the Seasons. You just had the season premiere last month in march. Now this is supposedly the Season finale five weeks later in April! LOLOLOL. Seriously dude... what are you doing? lol Every season is going to be a month now? You'll be up to season 50 in 4 years. LOLOLOLOL.
Marc grew up watching Bob Barker, esp. on "Truth on Consequences," (where he worked as a writer, 1st), and he was also a page on "The Price is Right," before he worked on "Double Dare," alone. I even told him about Barker's birthday - which is December 12th!
You know the music you used during the Marc's smoked salmon parody sounds quite similar to the Braniff logo music that comes on at the end of South Park. And did you know that Tom Kennedy almost got out of show business and was going to study to get his real estate license and he even got the materials and everything! But then You don't Say came about!

I just checked out your TH-cam channel looking forward to watching the episodes! Marc is great!
i'm late to the party but that just put a smile on my face!
Thanks for watching Chad!
Top notch interview. Always been a big fan of Marc’s.
Thank you!
Marc Summers was one of the best game show host for kids shows ever, always a place in many kids hearts and those kids that became adults.
20:16 I admire the fact that was his knee-jerk response to just bringing up the subject of opening it. I remember going there when I was like seven or eight and it is one of my favorite childhood memories.
Fantastic interview!!
Thank you Laryn, appreciate you watching!
We love you Mr Summers

@@hostsathome7390 Oh ok, understandable. Would love to see the extra portions some time!
Great walk down memory lane for us 90's kids who always wanted to be on Double Dare!
Appreciate you watching! You and me both!
Great interview with Marc, very enjoyable!!!!
Thank you so much!
I CAN NOT WAIT!!!!
Hey Adam I can not wait too I’m so excited for this
I was at the first Double Dare Live! tour date or around the first one in 2018. Marc and Robin are amazing people. It was such a dream come true!!! Thanks for interviewing him as well! : D
Dang, that was jam packed for 35 minutes, well done 👏. Just liked and subbed 😬
Thank you so much for subscribing! You'll find plenty more great interviews on the channel!
Another incredible episode. It was so nice to hear Marc candidly speak about his incredible career!
Thank you so much!

If Marc and J.D. are Neighbors
That means Double Dare and Fun House are gonna be closer than ever 😅
So glad you asked him about Scrabble because that's what I wanted to know more about!
Scrabble is my favorite game show of all time! Love his story about how that gig happened!
This is going to be so exciting! Marc Summers!! I set my VCR to record so I can watch it over and over! Thank you Adam! Your well produced shows are wonderful!
Marc Summer. Legend, Icon. "On Your Mark, Get Set GOOOOOOO!!!
He definitely shared some things I never knew! I can't believe he'll be 70! I must say: I think he'd be an awesome host of Jeopardy!
I agree, Marc could host a phone book and make it fun!
I have known that for years! Ever since he did History IQ!
I wish he’d been the host of Price is Right.
@19:21, is that the pilot for CP?
Yes it is!
You had both Phil and Marc on the show next let's get Mike!
I’m so excited
Would love to see The Nova Quiz if you have it Adam.
It was an amazing episode. I really enjoyed the interview with Marc. I hope there will be a 3rd season of the series.
Thank you! We've done 3 seasons already (time flies!) with 6 episodes each. We have a very special reunion show premiering Friday 4/30. There will eventually be a Season 4 as well!
Marc is the man! Great interview

We already have an episode with Randy West. Please subscribe to be sure you don't miss an episode!
LOL...and the thing is, I am a subscriber AND I have already watched that one. I should stop commenting late at night when I'm tired...😄
@@QHMCQ Are you drunk Eric??!??! LOL, I'm joking, thank you for subscribing!!!
I Love Weird Al on Nickelodeon!😂🤣❤️📺🎶👍🏻
Especially loved the Lightning Round segment! I think History IQ is due for a reboot, too. Also makes me wonder if the Archvies have that Nova Quiz special...
@13:48, that show moved to New York, I think, with a new host.
Series finale
As one who grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs, I was SO GLAD to hear that Marc doesn't put Cheese Whiz on his cheesesteaks. That's the #1 way to recognize a tourist 😛! (Oh, and nice job as always Adam!)
So John Kerry was just trying to fit in when he wanted Swiss on his cheesesteak...
Bar Mitzvah? I didn’t know Adam was Jewish!😱🤯
Another revival that would be good for Discovery+ is Hitman.
Speed City (Indianapolis), Indiana's own son!!
33:49 History IQ Tri-Q list: OCTOBER, NOVEMBER, DECEMBER. In what month did Mikhail Gorbachev resign from the Soviet Union (USSR) in 1991?
Marc should've hosted the Scrabble pilot in 1990 instead of.......
MARC SUMMERS IS ALIVE
I love these videos! When Nick was doing the tour of their game shows around the country back in the day (1990’s) I was lucky enough to participate in a Double Dare stunt unfortunately Marc wasn’t there. I was the overall winner. I have a host request Mike O’Malley from Nickelodeon GUTS!! I need that interview to happen! Please?
Fun House was a good show, it just got ruined when it moved to FOX.
From what I hear, JD Roth interview in the future!
I can see it!
@@jwgreek8606 And I just got done watching a Masters of the Maze episode....

In case you haven’t seen it on here....He did a reunion with Greg Lee and Rockapella
@@1Cheytown "Where in Time" had a different cast from "Where in the World", though-- save for the late Lynne Thigpen returning as The Chief.
Hopefully we’ll see a rare episode of trivia unwrapped
I consider Mark a good candidate to host Jeopardy why they haven’t considered him as a guest host is beyond me
I thought so too! I always thought he would be more suited for J! Than for TPIR!
I know what you mean, he sadly wasn't considered for The Price is Right either, surprisingly. Marc is one of those people that's "Iconic" and "Underrated" all at the same time. He really needs a talk show or podcast, HELL, put him on NPR or something!!!!
The Trebek Double Dare and the Summers Double Dare are two totally different shows.
Marc should do Jeopardy because they are finding a permanent host of Jeopardy
Marc tell Alice hello
Man, the tombstone with ROBIN on it..................wow, prophetic (then again, everybody dies; not everyone really lives...............lol)
Amen, they shouldn't have closed Nick studios in Universal.
I can't believe this doesn't have a million views.
Marc should've been the host of Price Is Right instead of Drew Carey after Bob Barker retired
Are you going to take the physical challenge?
Mike O'Malley would be great for Hosts at Home as well!
And Moira Quirk.
Question for Marc
David Baber's Television Game Show Hosts book states you auditioned to host Wheel when CBS picked it up. Is it true?
You need to ask these questions live on the chat tomorrow so he can answer them!
There was a game show that was not on Nickelodeon that taped at WHYY. You Bet Your Life with Bill Cosby.
So was Wintuition really that bad???
The behind the scenes stuff was, according to Marc in this interview and on Stu's show a couple years ago. Henry Winkler had a hand in producing it in late 2002, around the time he started producing Squares.
I liked the nova quiz!
For some reason I cannot get live chat on my tablet. I can on my fire TV but I cannot type a question on the TV
Soupy Sales and also the guy who Marc beat to do Double Dare!
Rich Cronin got upset with you Marc? I am surprised
I remember the host tour...

You know Marc Summers did a pilot for Kids Say the Darndest things for Ted Turner for the 1990-1991 season
A twist of irony.... David Letterman replaced Marc Summers in his first radio job!
Wesley Sure would be great for hosts at home Adam!
Eure
Carvey almost got the _Double Dare_ gig.
Or on The Disney Channel for that matter!
You know the music you used during the Marc's smoked salmon parody sounds quite similar to the Braniff logo music that comes on at the end of South Park.
