This game keeps coming up on my radar. This makes me want to pull the trigger!
I purchased this, played through it solo and had loads of fun. That being said, there's no indication of when to open the secret box. I've opened the booster which is filled with yummy goodness but the secret box is there...taunting me, hahahaha!
I’m sure you’ve figured it out by now, but the instructions for Scenario 2 tells you to open the Secret Box. In fact, the cards added for that scenario and all future games once completed require the contents of the box. You were missing out if you didn’t follow those instructions.
Both the campaign expansions as well as the newest mechanical one add a tone to the game
No question. Definitely raises the whole experience.
What kind of tone?
@@synnical77 well the ascension mechanics change the economy - as You get double scoring cards, or negative production cards and the second campaing inteoduce a whole new part and a new way to push your win. I think that the base game has just a civ vibe. The first expansion introduces conflict the second "spoiler guard" and the third pushes the civ vibe even more
Technically this is the first expansion, so likely you were cheating a little bit on your solo play through by using the content from the third expansion, lol. We are playing through this campaign right now at the max of 5 players, which is a lot of fun (though I almost used the 6th and 7th nation states by mistake when we started).
