      @@MrRichmac23 yeah but lesser pumps on site doesn't create confusion and having to move vehicles etc. 20 pumps is way to excessive for a pub basement fire - even if they are mandated to protect adjacent building, they'd most likely get in each others way.

      @@jojosmumdorothy2829 i totally agree with you on that! fire fighting is a very risk job to do and it's always scary to know that you know that you can lose your life in the fire you are trying to put out and save the lives of those who are trapped, that's if anyone is trapped and just seeing their gear, those tanks the fire fighters have on their backs really look very heavy.....
      Actually, i was doing a bit of back ground reading on how the first fighters were formed and also about the St. Florian and why St. Florian's Day fell on International Fire Fighters' Day, which always falls on 4th May every year......And though St. Florian is normally venerated as the patron saint of Fire fighters and chimney sweeps and as the first person to organize the first Fire fighting brigades in the Roman times and not just organize them, but he was known to also lead these Fire Fighting Units he formed as well..... but were few people know that he was a Christian (and during those times Christians were persecuted under the Diocletianic law..... and Diocletian was one of the four rulers of Rome along with Maximian, Galerius and Constantius (Constantine the Great's father) who were all Roman Emperors ), who was also a Military officer in the ancient Roman army and that he rose to the rank of commander in the Imperial Roman Army in the Roman province of Noricum ..... it is also known that he not just organized these fire fighting parties but he also trained some of the elite soldiers to just fight fires..... and that was their main job.....

      @@BlueLightProd i agree with you as well....... plus i actually did a bit of back ground reading on why International Fire Fighters' Day and St. Florian's day was celebrated on the same day, which is May 4th, every year....... and well, i was very impressed by the St. Florian and his work plus, he was really brave and he also was a Commander in the Imperial Roman Army...... who not just organized elite soldiers into these fire fighting brigades but he also taught and lead these elite soldiers to fight fires...... and also these elite fire fighting units' job was just to "fight" fires..... plus i was surprised because St. Florian was also a Christian and that he lived during one of the worst times for early Christians to live in, which is the Diocletian period..... this period was also the time when the Diocletian laws were passed...... and those who didn't follow those laws were, well persecuted..... so yeah, St. Florian was one really brave man..... and all fire fighters are actually very brave people as well......
      Anyway, i hope that everything when smoothly and no one was harmed including the fire rescue units...... and i hope that they (the fire fighters/ fire rescue units) all stay and remain safe, protected and blessed always........ and i hope that if anyone was harmed in that fire, i hope that it was just a minor burn and that i hope that they heal fast.....
      Anyway, thank you for the video Steven, Chris and Cameron........ i hope that you, and everyone at your side, all have an amazingly awesome day today and everyday........ stay safe, protected and blessed always, you guys!.......... 🙂.....
      Edit: Steven, i just wanted to say thank you for the information on the difference between the two fire truck ladders, in your previous video and the link you shared with me in my comment ...... and though i deleted my message/ comment to you in that video, i actually read all the messages i had under my main comment and well we normally don't see the "turn table" type of ladders because it's difficult for larger fire trucks to move and also since i live in India, i have never seen them except the pump ladder ones being used in my country....... so it was difficult for me to know if the fire brigades in India have ladders similar to the ones in that link you shared with me....... i really appreciate you and London Emergency 999 for your time and also for correcting me about the fire truck in your previous video........ 🙂..... anyway, i hope that you, Chris and Cameron have an amazing day today and everyday....... stay safe, protected and blessed always......... LFB operate six OSUs and hold another in reserve. They were purchased to replace several ageing Breathing Apparatus Tenders (BATs) & Damage Control Tenders (DCTs) in 2008, and are due to be replaced very soon. Due to the ease of loading and unloading palletised equipment on and off these box wagons, they are classed as multi-role vehicles. Specific kit from the inventory held at the OSU home station can be requested from the fireground by an incident commander. This can be damage limitation and salvage equipment such as salvage sheets, submersible pumps, portable generators, emergency lighting, boarding-up wood, sand bags for damming and a myriad of power tools and hand tools. Its second role as a BA Tender brings spare breathing apparatus bottles and bottle rechargers to the fireground. It’s third role is to provide a limited level of firefighter welfare kit - from a porta-loo to bottled water and a new pair of gloves. But it also carries more mundane operational support kit such as traffic cones, informative road signs and “do not cross” barrier tape.

    I’ve never understood how LFB can operate several command/control units at one incident. Yes I understand large incidents are often divided into sectors, but I wonder, is there one CU at the top overseeing the whole fire scene?

    • @benwoods1951
      @benwoods1951 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yeah so you have someone called the Incident Commander who is overall in charge of the scene. If the scene requires it then you can bring in Sector Commanders who are in charge of a certain area of the scene. If the scene had had a lot of death or is traumatic then they might assign someone as the Safety Officer who is in charge of safety and welfare at the scene including victims and firefighters. Another group you may have seen was Command Support which basically operate the Command unit and even liason with other services or press. I forgot to add that there is also an Operations Commander who is in charge of resources. Lastly, there is one last person who would help oversee the scene which is the Tactical Advisor who's job is basically just to give suggestions on how to tackal the incident.
      Hope this answered your question.

    • @YelpBullhorn
      @YelpBullhorn ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@benwoods1951 .... thanks for that, it was very interesting. But it doesn't really answer my question: how can LFB have two or three CUs at an incident? I understand all the different sectoring and role allocation, yet all other uk fire services get by with one solitary control unit on scene. I just don't see how more than one can possibly work.
      With no one in overall charge it perhaps explains why the LFB have been found to be the worst performing brigade in the country, year after year....

    • @tyw7205
      @tyw7205 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@YelpBullhorn So to answer your question, hopefully I can - This was 20 pump fire, which In the states would have probably a dozen chief officers and 20 pumps Is equal to a 5th alarm or something like that, So the more pumpers respond the more chiefs need to respond, hence 2-3 CUs at an incident. Extra commanders might also be dispatched because of the technicality of the incident. There’s a lot of factors but that’s to the extent that I can explain.
      Edit - Also, other fire brigades are smaller (Londons the largest) and they don’t have as many resources as the LFB does, so only one CU shows up because that’s all the capability have have for

    • @YelpBullhorn

      @@tyw7205 The Scottish Fire & Rescue Service is the largest brigade in the UK.
