If you pull out the fuse or relay for the fuel pump when the car is running it will run till it runs out of gas then you don’t got to worry about gas falling out because all the gas went to the motor and been burned out but after you put the fuel filter on make sure he cycles your keys or four times to build a fuel pressure and get fuel to the motor on off on off
So I recently changed my fuel filter, it came with 2 in line copper washers, are they supposed to be used ? You didn't use them and yours isn't leaking but mine is and I used them.
@@JaboTheMechanic Thanks for the reply. Auto Zone gave it to me. I went to a different parts store and that one did not have the gaskets. It also did not leak like a sieve, the way the first part did. Watch out, people, or you will end up like I did. Thanks again Jabo.
Hey Jabo! Thank you for great instructional video! Thumbs up and subscribed! 2 Questions... Is 2006 4runner V8 limited similar to what you demonstrated here? How often do you recommend changing the filter? Thank you
@@JaboTheMechanic Thank you Jabo! Maybe, if I am lucky, you will make a video about changing fuel filter on 2006 4runner v8 limited one day. Does not sound its going to be as easy as this 2000 4runner.
Why the reason for replacing? I have a 2000 4Runner and wen I floor it it chokes up could this be the reason a fuel filter or maybe the pump thanks great video

You made this look so freaking easy!!!! Thank you
Glad it helped
Cycle your key on and off about 7-10 times before starting to prime the lines

No need to drain tank. First you need to relieve fuel pressure. Easiest is to leave the car sitting overnight, next morning fuel pressure is gone.
I wouldn't use power tools. One spark and boom
So you don't need to release pressure before you take the filter off?
Thanks for the video!!
Glad it helped!
Dumb question. Where is it located
Great video, but mine came with copper gaskets. Did yours?
No it didn't

Hi sroblem! thank you. recommended change every 60k miles and ask for your fuel filter it's in the tank so it would be in graded with a fuel pump

You are welcome yeah maybe one day it's most likely going to be a fuel pump replacement instead of a fuel filter. Because it's one whole unit
Do u have to take out all the gas

You don’t need to drop the gas tank?
Well depending on the year of your car. If you dont see a fuel filter than you are going to only have a fuel pump strainer
Jabo The Mechanic I have a year 2000 will I have to drop it
No you dont
Jabo The Mechanic thank you and I subscribed because you helped me too
Glad it helped! I have a few other 4runner videos

Customer requested to have it changed
Ok but do you think I need it to or a fuel pump? Thanks for the quick response
It might not even be that. It could be that. Do you have a scanner
Jabo The Mechanic I could get it checked yeah
Ok let me know how it goes
Did not see how you chane the filter
Not a good presentation
Where your eyes closed? Geez!
