I was born & raised a Jehovah's Witness. Boy do I have many stories.. I was so brainwashed I didn't even fully grasp that fact till I was in my 30s (36 now). I left or rather escaped when I was 20. I was 20, pregnant & married but at the time of conception I wasn't married yet. So I poured my heart out remorseful, sorry for my "mistakes.." the elders I met with told me they "didn't believe I was sorry" & disfellowshipped me. To this day my entire family doesn't associate with me because I left the religion. My parents remind me often that I'm going to die in Armageddon along with my kids. I could go on & on & on.. truly believing as a young child that if you associate with worldly kids at school, say a curse word, question your religion, that you will then die a horrible permanent death in Armageddon is truly traumatizing. I had many nightmares of this as a child. I wouldn't wish this religon on my worst enemy.
I'm right around ur age too. I wasn't raised in it but I got sucked in for 4 yrs, 2016-2020. I found all the activism literally right before the pandemic hit. The lady I studied w was in group therapy w me. The way they're taught to lure in ppl when vulnerable is beyond sick. That lady really got me. We got all the way to Chap 11 in that Teach book. I wasn't buying all of it but she was convincing me of enough of it that it was destroying me. I was stuck in like a Pimo mindset. I believed enough to feel like my son n I were at risk for dying in Armageddon, but I didn't believe enough to try n progress to baptism. It felt like it's impossible and nowhere near realistic. I learned A LOT about cults now afterwards! But dam was that a horrible experience! I seriously feel for ppl that had to grow up in that.
@@phoenixchick5088 I'm glad you were able to see past it all & get out! That's the thing with JW's, converting ppl is huge to them. Because things predicted in their Bible has to all happen before Armageddon occurs. Like natural disasters, world leaders turning on religion, famine, etc. Well one of em is that JW must preach to every single person in the world before Armageddon will happen. So they're extreme when it comes to preaching & they get bonus points when they're able to lure someone in. It boosts their reputation which is everything to them.
@@angela.b. omg yes! She was desperately showing me around at meetings and convention. Always trying to set up our study and have somebody else she knew there too.
I'm sorry for the horrors you had to endure ma'am . I experienced much trauma in youth. (that I can't go into.) It seems (to me) that you've transformed your pain into Purpose, and I respect that you try (through your platforms) to help others get exposure by giving them a podium by which to exercise their Voice . (Unfortunately not everyone gets that chance for whatever reason.) I think Miss Blanc is an impressively articulate lady with near- limitless creative potential and she will likely go far in any medium she chooses to focus the majority of her Creative Efforts on. (As will you.) I write poetry and short stories myself. Primarily for cathartic reasons. (I don't really share them alot aside from a few I posted on TH-cam years back.) Art is a double edged sword really . It can heal, or drive one Mad. (or sometimes both) I hope you get where you wish to be with your career Miss Kail. (when I first read your name I actually misread it as Kali.) You deserve it ma'am.
all of these things have happened to this girl, is crazy 🤯 And our normal church would condemn all of that That person that did these things that did that to you and your mom was Evil! Omg!
Very confusing sentence man. A lot of "thats" But I agree. I think most average church going types would frown upon such things. I'm not religious by any means, but grew up in the bible belt. There are fringe/fanatic types pretty much everywhere and the Cult Phenomenon effects people from all walks. Some are college educated. Others are not. And it's notoriously difficult to de-program victims of cults due to the charisma of their leaders. They tend to isolate their followers in many instances and use a pretty typical formula for indoctrinating them.
I googled lola after the netflix cult show I watched and wound up here, charming, witty and fun....umm just so she knows, Owen did a 360° on the jq. Also he takes apart "q-tards" on the regular...but yeah, hes still a little....

Johovas witnesses don’t celebrate
Christmas, Easter, birthdays etc.
Mormon’s do celebrate normal holidays.
