I've researched Night Wish history which can be pretty much summed up in one word prior to Floor's arrival - DRAMA. Aside from Floor's vocals and stage presence, which fits the essence of Night Wish perfectly, she also brought a calming influence from the storms of the past. In watching her Paris 2018 interview on the Duke TV channel, I was struck by the feeling of calm that I get when she speaks. She takes no individual credit for the band's success and attributes it all to her bandmates. Her statement was something to the effect that she is merely another instrument on the stage just like everyone else.
She's definitely a wise person!
I crawled out of my hole a few months ago when I found Nightwish on you tube. Here in the US you never hear about bands like Nightwish. I have never heard them on the radio. And the concert promoters here apparently don't have a clue how to promote a concert. Very nice reaction. Thank-you. You said that you questioned your English? @@NakatheMetalhead They do have sold out tours across the U.S., but at much smaller venues. Their fan base is very loyal and enthusiastic, but their following is very small in comparison to the pop acts who generally get the mainstream TV and radio exposure. i've never, ever seen them on American television in any capacity.

I hope to see Nightwish again 3 times in Finland next album tour 2020. ❤Just counted all gigs, I've seen and total is now 20. 😀You really have to see them too in Finland...Can't explain, but allway's something extra...

Been Metalhead since start of1980's...There is only one above all others for me. Metallica \m/ \m/... Allthought, when Floor came to Nightwish, I knew it's start of something magical. So it has been. Like You, I really Love her so much.❤. What an Valkyrie Goddess and really lovely person. Have been pleasure to meet whole band couple times. One good thing. Buy an Vip meet & greet for some concert. Floor is insanely good. The fact she changes it up for each concert makes it better for the fans. You have to give serious props to Kai for his drumming skills. They are off the charts. But not quite to Jukka's Wacken performance.
From one Nightwish sister to another, I love this band as you do. I've never cried so many times watching a band just from maybe sheer joy or emotion. Keep them coming, I'm with you all the way.
And what is amazing is that they left this song, a very difficult song to sing, almost to the end of the set. At the beginning she's doing growls, high vocals and what not for over an hour and then goes to sing this. And so perfectly. Just amazing!

I hear Marco has stated that the new NW album will be heavier sounding. And I agree with you, "Star One" is SO GOOD! (So good that I felt compelled to shell out a tidy sum when I found some DVD's for sale.) Yeah. Tuomas said in a interview last year that he was having a writer's block. Then after finishing Auri project something happened and floodgates opened and he wrote six new Nightwish songs.

Naka, your English is perfect! I would have guessed you were from California, if you hadn't said anything about language. If, by chance, you haven't listened to the "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" album, there's plenty of songs from that album on their Wembley and Tampere concert DVDs. And you are right about the Star One concert. "Valley of the Queens" gets to me every time. Floor can really transmit emotion.

I absolutely loved the video. Also, i wanna say some things. I know you have watched the live version of this song from the Wacken concert of 2013 like hundreds of times, simply because you said it yourself but, it seems like you have no idea about the existance of the 2012 version live from Buenos Aires, Argentina. By that time she was new to the band and no matter how, she managed to do one hell of a performance of this song. Actually, this is the first version i saw of this song performed by her and literally, me and my brother were both crying when that epic ending came and just out of nowhere she did that incredible sustained note for like 10+ seconds. We both said, fuck, yeah!!!, this woman must stay forever!!, and she did!! 7 years later we still love her.
Apart from this song, there are two other songs that make me cry, actually, one of them makes me cry and the other one gives me goosebumps like this one. The Poet and the Pendulum live from Wembley 2016 is the one that makes me cry and Romanticide, live from Wacken 2013 is the one that gives me goosebumps when she does what she does in Ghost Love Score, but together with Marco. EPIC!!

Thanks for the video! If you have not seen this whole show, I would strongly suggest Stargazers and Sleeping Sun from this show. Especially for an old Nightwish fan that knows how Tarja sang those two songs. Floors take on them is incredible.

And to hear Marco's really amazing voice: "The Islander", and for a very lilting number from Floor: "Sleeping Sun", oh hell - just watch the whole concert! :-) BTW, her Mother, Father, and Sister were at this concert. There is a video of her and her sister singing together on stage: search Floor and Irene.
I already watched 'the greatest show… ' but i think i could to 'The Islander'. I've seen Floor with Irene on Star One and Ayreon DVDs, they're amazing together
I like this performance the best because the sound quality is so good. If you listen to the whole concert, you can clearly hear every nuance in her voice, check out She is My Sin. Tuomas asked her for this album and tour to sing lower and quieter, some have criticized that, but I think Floor embraced very nicely.
Well, i didn't really like the album, because you definitely hear that she's holding back. But she makes up for it on live performances.

This was by far the best reaction to GLS that I've watched on YT, so I decided to subscribe to your channel. Your English is so fluent & I don't understand Russian, although I've taught Russian students at Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences, so I'd prefer reactions in English. However, you must have many more Russian subscribers/viewers that prefer their native language. Nightwish is currently working on a new album scheduled to be released next spring, after which they launch a new world tour. P.S. Are there any YT videos from the band that you used to sing in? P.S.S. What are your thoughts about Arkona & Imperial Age? Any other Russian metal bands that you could recommend?
Thank you very much! I thought long and hard before switching to English, because, yeah, I've got Russian subscribers too, and initially my goal was to contribute to the Russian segment on yt, which doesn't have many metalheads and reactions are not a very common genre. But it turns out, that most people don't really understand the genre, and those who do started out watching foreign reaction makers anyway, so they'll be ok. Besides, i'm having problems finding time for translating English subtotles, so edited and ready videos end up sitting for weeks waiting for me to translate them, and switching to English significantly shortens the post-production period. And also the stats and feedback say that english-speaking viewers prevail. So i'll stick to it for the time being, and we'll see how it goes. I really enjoy practising it, too.
I only heard Arkona, and they're not exactly my thing, although i went to a couple of their gigs (as a photographer) and i really enjoyed them. Cool atmosphere and performance. Also i have tremendous respect for their frontwoman Masha for being one of the first Russian female singers to also use scream alongside clean vocals.
A Russian band that I discovered lately is Blind Ivy..its alternative metal and a little heavy but they are definitely good imo

Tampere is just over 20k, Wacken was over 80k. Floor's parents were there that night in the front row, this was part of a documentary very moving.

I'm from the United States. Your English is excellent! I had never heard of Nightwish, or even European metal, until very recently. I was in college in the 80's so maybe my age was a factor. But somehow, I missed being aware of them. But, I have been aware of, and listen to, Trance. But I am also a classical music fan and for some time have not sought out hard rock or metal, so that explains a lot as well. But I have been enjoying discovering Nightwish and some of the other metal bands from that scene. I really like Amaranthe 'Digital World', for example.

Floor has been in a dutch televisionprogram in wich all students that were the start off of the Rockacademy in Tilburg (NL) were reunited. As part of that program, dutch television filmed part of this show. They also brought Floor's parents to this show, so you can imagine, this show was just a bit more emotional for her. In the televisionprogram, Floor told that there were 24.000 people.
