Quite literally the first person I have heard nationally and locally point out that they had a 10 year SB drought where they were bumped early from the playoffs. That Bill philosophy of be ready for everything (nothing is going to go perfect) and play physical is very smart of course. Just a great mind, and the fact that he would make his practice guys get super physical with his receivers seems so obvious...hopefully all our favorite teams do that. I wonder how many coaches actually do anything close to that. If you can't hit people in practice, that is probably the next best way to practice for physicality in the game.

The 'Fire Bill!' fans remind me of what we were going through in Seattle recently with the 'Fire Pete & John!' fans. The noise was starting to get pretty loud. Russ got shipped to Seattle, the Seahawks continued to be good and... oh, those 'Fire Pete & John' fans had to shut up because they felt Russ was the only reason they were winning. This past year was one of the most enjoyable as a fan because it was fun and all the negative nancies were home trying to figure out what to criticize next. I think the same thing'll happen for NE - once a winning season happens, a lot of the noise will die down. Bill B. is a freakin' legend. If we didn't have Pete in Seattle, I would love to have for-sure Hall of Fame coach Belichek as our coach. Anyone who wouldn't want him is nuts.

*100% False. Believe it or not this team has made SUBSTANTIAL improvements over the last 4/5 years. Belichick now has a Top 5 Defense designed to combat against modern day QB’s. He’s made some choices in Coaching/Free Agency that haven’t panned out. He thought Patricia would be good enough to step in as coordinator but he was mistaken. This team is now revamped at all the coaching positions, and have improved on every side of the ball. Not to mention they’re lined up to have the MOST cap room out of any team next offseason. They’re making the playoffs this year I guarantee it.*

EXACTLY Edelman, things take time, especially rebuilding a team, that can take as long as 5-20 years. New England media and Pats fans are so spoiled many of us expected instant success after Cam Newton and many Pats fans don't realize we've been in a rebuild for three seasons. Even Cam Newton didn't do terrible, we still went 7-9 with him and missed a playoff spot by TWO games losing the goat and a host of defensive and offensive talent!

@@freepeople091 In 2020 they had a LOT of injuries and a rookie qb, typically rookie qbs don't do so great. The Eagles were not officially in a rebuild in 2020, they just had a very bad season due to all those injuries. Guaranteed they would have been a playoff team that year if they didn't have any big names injured like Ertz. A rebuild is a team that has lost a lot of its' star players, plays consistently bad, and tries to recover by drafting/trading/signing players to upgrade or replace the lost talent in positions until they play competitively again.
I think you forgot the 2021 season where Mac Jones was drafted, and the Patriots made the playoffs at 10-7 after going 7-9 in 2020 and missing the playoffs. A LOT of talent was lost in 2019 (especially Brady) and there were some big injuries that had a negative impact on the team yet they still went 7-9 and missed the playoffs by two games. You will see.
