The Germans didn't get to Moscow in WW1, but they did force a Russian surrender by provoking revolution and civil war, so while we forget this because they lost the war overall, they technically _won._
The Germans got to Moscow in WW2, but never came close to capturing it.
Napoléon actually _did_ capture the city. He still had to retreat though.

Oh man I love the Minor Faction's Revenge Mod...
Play Medieval II as the Rebels just remove some other faction from the
playable faction list so you can see them at the faction screen and you
can technically play as the Aztecs as long as you hack the undiscovered
label from them but you will be stuck in Amerika unless you teleport
some units to Europe.
Next video on Empire: take ANY nation, put all your units on ships and go to another continent (you cannot defend your Original homeland no matter what)

I figured they had it so as a way to balance out France's six overseas-provinces, the most of any nation.
@@KixSlim The thing is you kind of have to abuse it. You are well advised to immediately attack the Franco-Spanish alliance when you only need to defeat two armies and take two cities with a few ancillary towns. Otherwise France and Spain grow powerful and field dozens of armies.

Their ships are insanely overpowered in this mod. I always make sure to get me some of their special ships right from the start, especially if I'm already playing in the Caribbeans. They're not as shitty as they should be in land battles either.

Well they didn't actually start it but the 7 year war was effectively a rehearsal for World War 1. With slightly different aliances. And a slightly (massively) more competent prussian ruler.
And they were friends with britain right until you know what.
I think (citation needed) the "the great" for frederick was actually a british invention. Maybe because him binding the french in Europe gave the British America.
Binding them for 7 years against ridiculous odds.
Every war involving the major powers involving defence was a rehearsal for WW1 once guns became a thing.
The Siege of Austria (the one with the Polish Hussairs) had trench warfare and that was in the 17th century.
Really it was only the wars of Unification that did not have that type of warfare.

But Prussia did start a world war, the war of the austrian succession, it literally was a world war but not called a world war...
Considering Prussia wasn't even a country back in 1618 when the 30 years war started (they were the lesser partner of Brandenburg-Prussia), I'm having trouble figuring out how exactly they managed to start a Bohemian revolt against Austria (that actually started the war).

6:18 - when I played Empire Total war for first time I picked Prussia. And I needed some technology. So I tried buy it from other nations. The only who agreed were inuits. Their demanded lands in Italy for technology. I agreed mostly for fun.
I mean you might complain about the pikemen however I usually take over madrid and defeat all spanish armies on the European continent as the dutch with an army of 1 general, 1 unit of demicanons, 1 militia and 2 line infantry, 2 units of pikemen. The pikemen absolutely butcher rifle wielding units early game.
One question though how is there still anyone else alive on your home continent during a campaign as Prussia by 1754. Usually by that point you've taken over 80% of the world in empire total war and are just waiting for it to get to 1799
