Yes DarthMod struggles with that, sometimes it effects the Swedish too. The first thing I always do at the start of a campaign when using DarthMod is go right for Iraq. If you shrink the Ottomans down you can avoid the ruined game at the end.

Well, there's a city in Virginia used to be called Jerusalem, I think the Italian guy with a hat has accomplished his goal of reclaiming the holy land.
Syrian and southern Anatolia mountains, sometimes southern Persia, and any cities like Istanbul that have a strait-crossing for land forces. This is what lags up the turns often enough lmao the AI will dismantle or send single unit armies enmasse in these locations, and the game literally breaks itself on that traffic jam, trying to move all these units that are in the way of eachother.
I remember I had a playthrough where it was just me and Prussia left both splitting roughly half the world. Prussia would have each individual unit move from their at least 30 stacks of troops. So let's do some quick math. 30x20 = 600 units moving individually and not even just one movement. Back and forth to the same spot 40 times or miniscule movements to nowhere. Each turn took like 15 minutes no lie but I was too stubborn and wanted the world on legendary so it happened. I wasn't happy, but it happened.
When i first saw this mod a Few years ago i thought to myself:"Wow are we now gonna get Clones standing in lines and Shooting at droids all at once?" then i was dissapointed, but still it's one of the Best enhancement mods on Empire and Napoleon. The Best mod for me was the Great war mod
Pretty sure the pikes are there so that you can form a Pike and Shot formation. It actually works really well. . . . in Med II with no artillery on the enemy team.
If you want to play better battles in Empire, and especially with Darthmod, you need to get the Bran MacBorn AI submod found on TWCenter forums. Battles are way better and he has a version of the submod that tries to kill the Ottoman Bug and it is one of the more successful attempts I've seen. Install that before your next video. Also, the huge soldier numbers gets easier to play with the more you use them...and they are more historically accurate for the time period. But that's neither here nor there

The Ottoman bug is a vanilla bug. Basically the AI doesn't put their units into proper armies, instead having possibly dozens of one-unit armies running around, each adding to the turn time. Destroying them fixes the issue, as well as getting you the rich province of Anatolia.
@@conor987 Which is funny, as Troy: Total War has a built-in mod organizer. Which means that you have a mod organizer... With only ten mods. Most of which are cheat mods (stronger heroes, more powerful arrows, infinite stamina/no morale).
The lag problem is caused by the Ottomans creating hundreds of tiny armies that slowly get bigger and more numerous as the game goes on. They're usually all fucking around Anatolia in a huge cluster... Just sitting there... being moved inches at a time... for eternity. It's fun taking them on, too because they instantly surround you and come at you from all sides with OP artillery and cavalry.
Fun fact, quicklime in Darthmod is basically death in a cannonball. Base game its not that good but in DM it just fucking kills lines of infantry easily.
Oh a heads up, you're on custom in the Darthmod set up, which uses the base game map (not much of a difference but some states do exist, some don't etc.) And if you choose like classic? I think, then you'll get basically a boost to colonization in India if you're England or France (because that's basically the only difference I prefer custom so thank you for being a man of "culture" but wanted to say this cause I know how some comments can be)
C'mon guys, when ISP hits 500k, we all know we'll want an Ulm grand campaign in Europa. Maybe 2000 years make it interesting! (Like thirty to forty-five minutes interesting!)
