I bought the same one and it heats up too much, I'm afraid it's a defect but I talked to 2 other people who also have this ugreen reader and one said it heats up and the other doesn't, I'm not sure if I ask for a refund or if I continue with it even though it heats up while using =/

I don’t think so, it’s only support Windows, macOS and Linux. If your TV is a smart TV running android then maybe can.

Mine also heat up during use but it’s warm not hot until it will burn your fingers. So mine is fine.

It’s normal as long it doesn’t slow down the speed and affects the functionality. Also if it’s only warm not hot then it’s totally fine.
How hot does it get while transfering heavy files?
I would say like around 50/60 degree Celsius.
