by the way they also play thrash metal like Slayer / Metallica, here is the list: - The Hammer Of Wrath (live Zepp Tokyo) - Break The Wall (live Zepp Tokyo) - Thunder Vengeance (live Zepp Tokyo) * their albums was mixed by Mikko Karmila and mastered by Mika Jussila, who have worked with acts like Nightwish, Children of Bodom, and Stratovarius
Oh yes!! Finally guys you both check out Lovebites. The best one metal band right now in the earth. And what a great reaction and review. I'm so enjoyed, thank you so much. Next song try from they live concert. The song is "Break the wall" or "Holy war" Or you can check another new MV of them. The song is "Winds of Transylvania" Hope you both can enjoyed again. And big thanks too for accepted my request and make this great video review to Lovebites.
LOVEBITES - Glory to the World lyrics: Everything around us will fall into dark When you keep on looking into the sadness Nobody in this world may ever be free My hearts will shiver and I can't take deep breath But rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify The dawn will come and bring the light in this world Grace to my heart, Hallelujah I know you really care for me So I leave everything in your hands You'd walk with me all the way Learning to love yourself It is the greatest love of all Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me Standing in nowhere and searching for meanings A sleepless night haunting us like a shadow A blur in the future, the fear of unknown There will come a time where we can leave everything behind Breeze are running through the land and endless to the sky Together we will make it through this deep night Grace to my heart, Hallelujah I know you really care for me So I leave everything in your hands You'd walk with me all the way Learning to love yourself It is the greatest love of all Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me And rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify The dawn will come and bring the light and lead us to a new world Grace to my heart, Hallelujah I know you really care for me So I leave everything in your hands You'd walk with me all the way Learning to love yourself It is the greatest love of all Wherever you go, this world that we breathe together, Nothing more precious ----- lyrics: asami music: midori & Mao arrangement: LOVEBITES
Glory Glory to LOVEBITES and to all my brothers and sisters of The Wolf Pack everywhere. We rule the ruins under their faithful command!. Best metal band to come along in 30+ years.
Founders Miho Bassist and Drummer Huruna after Destrose ended formed Lovebites recruiting Guitarists Midori and Guitarist Miyako who also composes and plays Keyboards as in Swan Song and singer Asami sings in English a Japanese style of enunciation though.
Yes! These ladies are slay! Powerful, uplifting song 🤘as far as i listen to this band..lovebites still not dissapointed on their metal musically way...they are badass ladies Thanks for your great reaction anyway, sir...great 🤘
Hey! Thanks for checking them out. Lovebites are a power/thrash metal band, they aim for a more classic 80's metal vibe, they take inspiration from bands like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Judas Priest, Helloween, etc. They usually don't have this Christian tone to their music, but this song is an exception to that, it is meant as a positive message for people struggling in these times of pandemic. They do sing 100% in English, but as you noted Asami the singer has an accent and can be a bit hard to pick up at first. Haruna's star shaped cymbal is her trademark, it's just for looks and for her to spin as she loves to do! They actually released a brand new EP with 5 songs a couple weeks ago, this one being the title track of the EP, it would be awesome if you guys could listen/review it! I understand that you guys are probably used to more heavier bands looking at the background behind you (im also a fan of many of those bands) but i also really enjoyed that you had an open mind going into it, and i think you would for sure enjoy their sound, their technical ability and their composition skills! If you want something more thrash metal try "Break the Wall" or "Hammer of Wrath" both Live at Zepp 2020 If you want some power metal "Holy War" or "Swan Song" both Live at Zepp 2020 As good as this band is in the studio, they are even better LIVE, so i would go with that! Just avoid anything from Bloodstock, terrible audio mix on that show. I really enjoyed this reaction (also enjoyed your Gojira - Amazonia review i was watching yesterday) and i hope you check them out again, this is a fantastic band and they are phenomenal at what they do!
They filmed this 23 of december 2020 and decided yo have some "christmas flavour" to the MV. here is Asami the singer talking about the son and the album. English subtitles: th-cam.com/video/lGTr2sN9Jdc/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/lp0exjhO0F8/w-d-xo.html
Yeah guys you just open the pandora box. What can I say about the band. Lovebites are formed 2016 from ex Destrose band members Miho the bassist and composer ( she is the band leader) and Haruna the drummer ( best female power metal drummer in the world at the moment, 4.9 beast on the drums) the other members are Asami the vocalist and songwriter ( she was R&b and jazz-soul singer before to join the band) Midori the lead guitarist, backing vocals and composer with the blonde hair ( one of the fastest female guitarists in the world at the moment, demon of the guitar) and Miyako the other lead guitarist, pianist and composer with the black hair ( she is the main composer of the band). Lovebites are the winners of the Metal Hammer Golden gods awards 2018 for best new metal band. Their last album Electric pentagram was nominated for one of the best 20 metal albums for 2020 year. The band is influenced by 80s metal, their inspiration bands are Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Halloween, Metallica and Slayer. At the moment they are the best all female power metal band in the world. Also they like to touring in Europe i sow them already twice in Wacken Germany 2018th and UK 2019 year that time they touring together with Dragon force. Right now they touring in Japan after they released the new EP Glory Glory to the world on 10th of March 2021. My suggestion the song Awakening/The Hammer of wrath live. Enjoy it. PS - they play always on high heels on the videos and when they play live.
We must have been typing at the same time! Some overlap in info but good stuff from you about band influences AND YOU HAVE SEEN THEM LIVE !!!!! (gotta have an exclamation-point for each band member on that news!)
More LOVEBITES!! They just realeased an EP called Glory, Glory to the world. Every song they sing is in English. You have to see them live. Check out Holy War, Break The Wall, The Hammer of Wrath, M.D.O all from Zepp DiverCity Tokyo in 2020. They are spectacular!
It's in English, there is a video with subtitles. But that aside, these ladies are master musicians, both the guitarists Miyako, and Midori are master shredders. One of the things I love about their music is how effortlessly they can play other genre's, Break the Wall is right out of the slayer playbook, Holy War is straight-up Iron Maiden but 4x as fast, Hammer of Wrath is Thrash as fuck. one of my favorites that don't have live footage is Mastermind 01, its just so nasty.
Yeah, enjoyed your reaction to LOVEBITES Glory to the World MV. They have been performing this and their other new MV 'Winds of Transylvania' at the 3 LIVE shows they have played this month in Japan. One more show on April 2nd is currently scheduled. Founded by bassist/leader Miho and drummer Haruna in 2016 and releasing their first full album October 2017 brought the Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Best New Band in Spring 2018 and appearing at Wacken Open Air which began many European dates through 2019, Download UK & Madrid, Graspop Metal Meeting, with November seeing them invited to be DragonForce's support for 11 shows in the UK including the guitarists jamming with DF in performance, and them all singing "My Heart Will Go On" together. LOVEBITES LIVE releases, Daughters of the Dawn 2019 and Five of a Kind 2020 are excellent camera work and audio recordings, as mentioned, mixed at FinnVox in Finland. Due to extensive 2020 tour canceled they did a studio-live beginning-to-end performance of their first full album "Awakening From Abyss" on the 3rd anniversary of it's release on Oct 25, 2020 entitled "Awake Again". Two very different songs from Five of a Kind are (Power-Metal) "Rising": th-cam.com/video/Y_jrhzzcuRU/w-d-xo.html (Thrash) "M.D.O.": th-cam.com/video/9BY0ZRrOnnc/w-d-xo.html both with lyrics embedded for clarity of understanding. Guitarist Midori (1st solo) wrote music for Glory to the World while vocalist Asami wrote lyrics. Guitarist Miyako also is classical pianist and educator, performs a solo Frédéric Chopin étude in the middle of Five of a Kind show. "Mom" says no 'subbing' on first 'reaction' so I'll have to wait. Thanks for watching, and showing LOVEBITES to others!
Here is Asami of LOVEBITES singing "Love Bites (so do I!)" with Lzzy & Halestorm at Download 2019: th-cam.com/video/u7zuAlf5FBo/w-d-xo.html This is the song that LOVEBITES took their name from, as Lzzy announces at the start of the song.
It seems that you’ve been lovebitten too. Welcomed to the amazing world of Lovebites; five awesome Japanese women who play (mostly) power metal but they are so talented, versatile and great musicians. They really shine in their live performances. If you want to see a recent and crazy video, try “Winds of Transylvania”. For you , headbangers, I suggest the songs “Hammer of wrath”, “Break the wall”, “Raise some hell”, “Scream for me”, “Shadowmaker”, “When destinies align”, “Signs of deliverance”, “Thunder vengeance”, “Dancing with the devil” (all live whenever possible) Lineup: Haruna: Drums Miho: Bass Midori: Lead & rhythm guitar Miyako: Lead & rhythm guitar, keyboards and classical piano Asami: Vocals BTW, Midori and Miyako performed at NAMM 2020 (separate)
3 years ago, but always goosebumps-generating emotions !! What else do you need to recognise: this is one of the greatest bands we are currently available . . . let's this spread out into universe . . .
There are different layers to Lovebites in their sound. This song is their power metal side. As you listen to more of their songs, you will hear traditional 80s heavy metal and in your face thrash metal. They all impress the hell out of me with their talent not just as musicians but also as songwriters and lyricists. For a guitar clinic, give Scream for Me (live - Daughters of the Dawn). These two ladies will mesmerize you with their guitar skills.
Actually in English. Glad you liked this. It's quite unusual in that they are not actually a religiously oriented band. But they are unique in Metal in that many of their songs are positive and uplifting. A little background: They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" pocket nuke), and they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. Miho and Miyako compose most of their music, but Midori has also been getting into the act, and Asami writes a lot of the lyrics. They have only been around for a little over 4 years. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and it seems clear they’re taking it to another level. They do everything from soulful power ballads to white-hot insane thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two shredders are very different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The interplay makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.") Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist-she only picked up guitar when she was 18. They are amazing live. You should next check out “Holy War” live: "Holy War" Dual shred harmonies: th-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/w-d-xo.html You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!
Well done guys. This is one of my favorite first time reactions to this fantastic band. This song is off their newest EP just released a few weeks ago. Another great song to react to is Holy War live off their album Electric Pentagram or Winds of Transylvania which is also off their new EP. WoT was created as the opening for a new Japanese anime show.
If you love this, there’s a whole new world of pleasure awaiting you with this band. It was actually in English, and it’s probably a good job you didn’t have the lyrics because they are vaguely evangelical, but that’s not the whole picture. The lyrics relate to Covid and looking forward, but the church is allegorical. They have an EP out right now, called Glory, Glory to the World and another video from that is called Winds of Transylvania, which is a theme song for the anime “Vlad Love”. Before you explore them in their live setting, “Winds” would be a perfect next stop.
Had not heard of this band! But I loved the song and video. Had an 80's but also modern feel. Great vocals, guitars everything was fantastic. Much thanks to all of those who requested this band! Are you still going to do the Queensryche video? Looking forward to it!
Haruna's star cymbal is kind of a trademark thing for her, carried over from her previous band, Destrose. She used to use glittery pinwheel stars (like you'd get at the dollar store) to decorate her set, and when she picked up a Sabian endorsement deal, they made her a couple of custom brass ones. All-female (or female-fronted or co-ed) metal bands in Japan are a rabbit hole well worth falling into. There are (and have been) a lot of them, and the quality is staggering. I'm also a big fan of Doll$Boxx (intense proggy metal with intelligently-incorporated pop elements), Unlucky Morpheus (symphonic powermetal with the same - brilliant - vocalist as Doll$Boxx and a world-class violinist), Nemophila (versatile "supergroup" that can do anything from metalcore to melodic metal...and have some brilliant covers, too), HAGANE (new-ish band with young virtuoso guitarist Sakura Yoshida), Show-Ya (possibly the first all-female metal band that mattered...still performing with all members in their late 50's and still killing it), and seriously the list goes on.
@@josemanuelperez2853 She even had that star before she joined Destrose in 2012, but I can't confirm exactly when. Thus, I just guessed at "many years". 👍
Always entertaining when Western Barbarians first watch/hear a Japanese all female band of the Metal/Rock genre. FYI there are 100's of them in Japan, you need to pick up the pace. They write their own songs in much same method as Band Maid. Miyako sends the music to everyone, they add their parts and Asami is the primary lyricist with Miho. One difference is they have a 6th member, Mao, he composes with them and co-arranges. Can't wait for them to play LA.
Awesome reaction !! Maybe you should see them LIVE next time and discover their thrash side with the song BREAK THE WALL (Live DiverCity Tokyo 2020), real old metallica vibes in that song !!
As a Japanese and a Lovebites fan, i was a bit nervous if you guys would like it or not but i am so glad you guys did haha you guys should check out a song Holy War, live in Tokyo.2020. I promise it is awesome !!! (btw this song is from their newest EP)
@@maxmaidiac2237 ok..........???? Lol I’ve been watching this channel for a while and I never get the impression like you did. Plus people don’t get profits from reaction videos if you didn’t know
Well the petite models who when dressed in white and have on high heels power like a Lambroughini in top gear on the open road through another great song. If you were impressed here WAIT till you do them LIVE. The relentless pursuit of PERFECTION is what drives this band. 1st all female metal band from Japan to play Wacken and Bloodstock (2018), best new metal band (2018) and last album nominated for Album of the Year (Electric Pentagram). These insanely talented women are the real deal, Power, Speed, Thrash, Rock, Ballads and even classical piano (yes classical piano)! Only been around from 2016 and wanted a more European sound in their J/Metal so all the glory of 80's metal raised to whole new level. Asami/vocals is an ex-ballerina and comes from R & B/Jazz/Soul genres NEVER sang for a metal band or a metal song before joining the band, she is as you will see a wicked stage commander who pumps the crowds up in every concert.
Oow!!! Thanks for react to my favorite band!!! These ladies are fantastic musicians! Please check more! "Holly War" live in Tokyo is my sugestion! Subscribed. See you next.
Lovebites have many songs in diferent styles that i hope you're going to enjoy as much or more than Glory to the world, i invite you to jump to the rabbit hole Lovebites offer, Thank you for a great and honest reaction! =)
Asami is singing in English, she just has a thick Japanese accent. And this is her first metal band; before Lovebites, she sang R&B and Soul. One thing about their songs is, they pretty much all have a positive message.
Although this song has Christian vibes, as you noted, they're not a Christian band. Asami is the singer and main lyricist. She likes to incorporate elements of various religions into some of their songs, not to be preachy, but just to spread positivity to a larger audience. For this song, the gospel elements came about because Midori (blonde ponytail, purple guitar) recently visited the US, and was impressed with some gospel choirs in some southern black churches she was invited to, and she wanted to pay tribute to that, so she wrote and composed the music. Asami wanted to do a couple things with the song. In keeping with Midori's tribute to American gospel music, she added some Christian spiritual elements to the song. But her overarching theme with the lyrics was about coming together during the pandemic to help each other through loneliness, depression and grief. One TH-camr aptly described this song: "This isn't music, this is sounds falling from heaven!"
Great review guys. These ladies are an amazing power metal band. Maybe the best new PM band out there ATM. Definitely watch their live work on Holy War. I don't know if you ever reviewed a Finnish band called Wintersun, but I think they would be right in your wheelhouse. Check out Sons of Winter and Stars or Time.
Haha..second time this week, I comment on a suitable shirt for this song...Bathory....lol... Its good to know the background to this, since its about giving hope in this stupid Covid times. They made a new EP during it. ALL their songs except one is in english. Asamis sweet accent just makes it difficult to understand. Funny to see how much you liked it. I was sold immediately and I can have onlt Lovebites on repeat all days. They made that much during their short career (since 2016). They make the best power metal I know and they make the best thrash metal I know. The make the best music I know. Hope you will continue your journey and maybe with some more brutal thing. This song is is quite "polished". And its best live... The stars are Harunas trade marks. She brought them from previous band, Destrose.
Their not religious or preachy. The song is just a song of hope for everyone, going through the pAst year. They are in white outfits, to contrast with their music. As metal is always thought of as dark, black. The Star cymbal is Harunna, from her former band Destrose. Try song Holy War.
I listened to all of there 3 albums and 3 EP's not a bad song on any of them. they also have 2 live albums. they sound just as amazing if not better live. on Holy War both guitarists and Bassist each have a moment they showcase their guitar tapping.
They sing in English also you have to listen to them live here is a opening number to one of their shows LOVEBITES / Thunder Vengeance [Live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020] P/S I heard that the guitars get sent away after every show for THERAPY. Haruna, the cute little drummer is the speed demon Haruna she must have nuclear reactor in her body...Also did you notice they all wear high heels wtf
Except for Haruna who wears red walking shoes during the show, and puts on high heels before climbing out of her drum battery to bow for the audience. She is short, but with an average female length of 5'-1 1/2" (156cm) in Japan, not extreme. And I wouldn't be surprised if she is the strongest of the lot, no implants needed. Her main attraction is: she is an amazing drummer. But yes, she is cute, that's a bonus.
I was thinking perhaps “Thunder Vengeance” after reading the lyrics. IDK if it’s just me or not, but there is something extremely interesting about Asami in her princess skirt singing those lyrics or “Hammer of Wrath”. I like the songs with the uplifting lyrical themes and scores, like this one, but the darker stuff they do is really fascinating. I hope they keep making music like they have been- and reading “Paranoia” it seems that they have. I can’t wait to see how these girls are going to keep destroying our boundaries in future!!
The lead singer Asami, sings in English. Her pronunciation sounds strange because her English is often based upon Japanese Hiragana, the phonetic alphabet of Japanese. Before joining Lovebites she grew up studying ballet and has sung gospel and R&B before joining this band. Miyako, the dark-haired guitarist is a classically trained pianist who also shreds. Midori, the blonde guitarist has actually not been playing guitar for as long as her ability would indicate. The awesome bassist, Miho, and drummer, Haruna, started this band when their previous band broke up. The ladies are quite small. The tallest is about 5'2" and Haruna is a tiny 4'9" in powerhouse on the drums. They don't have a bad song. You'll be happy with anything you pick out to listen to.
Guys, live more uuummmppp to watch...their crazy dual solo's....live at Zepp Diver City Tokyo 2020 songs Raise Some Hell, Break The Wall, Hammer Of The Wrath, Holy War, another MV Winds Of Transylvania, and studio live 2020 songs Burden Of Time, Eagle Fly Free(Halloween song cover), Scream For Me... :)
Hi guys, you should really check out Lovebite's live performances which are better than their stidio recordings the vocalists (Asami) voice sounds better in an auditoium than in the studio. React to snything for their 2020 Conceet at Zepp Diver City concert and their 2019 conceert called 'Daughters of the Dawn'. Be quick a lot of the videos from these concerts are being taken down. I recommed 'Holy War, 'Edge of the World' and 'Epilogue' for starters.
great review, If you have a free time I want you to review Break the Wall / The Hammer Of Wrath (from the same concert) it's more thrash metal and will make you Jaw-dropping
Haruna-sama's star is a symbol, not a cymbal! And if you think this was off the scale, you need to check out anything from their Zepp Diver City concert last year. just before covid hit, because Lovebites is even better live. Best metal band around, believe it.
Lovebites is not a Christian band....in fact religión is not a thing in Japan....This song is a hymn of good vibes for people who suffer daily from the pandemic and depression.
Lovebites performed at Wacken Open Air on August 4th, 2018, being the first all-female Japanese metal band to do so. Their most recent album is called Electric Pentagram and released last year in January. It's pretty great. I'd recommend you check out their song "When Destinies Align". That's the single from that album that really started to get the group a lot of international recognition.
Check out Holy War (Live), Shadowmaker, or Raise Some Hell (Live). This song is more of a technical track imo. This band is so diverse so for their pure head banging thrash i recommend the above three.
Wolfpack checking in! Good reaction. But yes, Asami sings in ENGLISH. This band is #1. NOW... go watch everything else they have on TH-cam, and then you can join the wolfpack! \m/
Harunna uses that star cymbal for feels. She used it in her previous band Dextrose. Try their songs Edge of The world. Scream for me, studio live. The back and forth idols are incredible.
If you think these ladies are Christian, you haven’t seen all the pentagrams in their other videos and album covers. For even better shredding check out their video for Winds of Transylvania.
I'll be short: ANYTHING that has LOVEBITES in the title is a powerhouse. This band is the current flagship for metal like it or not. Also, "Raise some hell" since no one mentions this song; just to get some Midori-Miyako facemelting. And yes, ALL their content is fast, powerful, shredding, rythm, nuclear drumming, etc etc. These ladies put to shame long time performers. Also, Miyako is a piano virtuoso (started playing when she was 3 years old). Forgot ... they're even better live.
I feel like a little air of dragonforce but i like it It reminds me those anime of 90 when the end was the "soundtrack" of the chapter. But in general it sound good vocals solo guitars it was great
Nice reaction. If you want to explore the japanese scene further then Nemophilia might be a nice next stop. Their latest single is really good. Otherwise i would recommend Unlucky Morpheus one of my favorites right now.
@8:40 re: i love the fact that it wasn't in english Everything around us will fall into dark When you keep on looking into the sadness Nobody in this world may ever be free My heart will shiver and I can't take deep breath But rains will end and nights will pass, griefs will purify The dawn will come and bring the light in this world Grace to my heart, hallelujah I know you really care for me So I leave everything in your hands You'd walk with me all the way Learning to love yourself It is the greatest love of all Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to believe Standing in nowhere and searching for meanings A sleepless night haunting us like a shadow A blur in the future, the fear of unknown There will come a time where we can leave everything behind Breeze are running through the land and endless to the sky Together we will make it through this deep night Grace to my heart, hallelujah I know you really care for me So I leave everything in your hands You'd walk with me all the way Learning to love yourself It is the greatest love of all Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to believe And rains will end and nights will pass, griefs will purify The dawn will come and bring the light and lead us to new world Grace to my heart, hallelujah I know you really care for me So I leave everything in your hands You'd walk with me all the way Learning to love yourself It is the greatest love of all Wherever you go, this world that we breathe together Nothing more precious
Hey fellas! Have y'all ever done a video on Black Crown Initiate? They're one of my favorite bands of the last 5 years. I think you'd like them a lot. Thanks! 🤘
In actuality, she was singing in English. That particular video has closed captioned subtitles. Every song that I have heard form them is in English, although It's hard to tell.
Longtime all-female Japanese metal/rock fan here. Good to see you've finally ventured into exploring the current flag-bearers of metal: Japanese women! Dive in that rabbit hole! Lovebites currently tops my list but there's plenty more where that came from. Show-Ya (godmothers of the genre, still at it the same lineup for 35+ years), Band-Maid, Mary's Blood, Aldious, Nemophila, to name but a few. Here's Nemophila covering a massive hit from X-Japan - Kurenai: th-cam.com/video/Bd3Ss30FZjg/w-d-xo.html
I tried convincing a friend today while listening to swan song even pointing out the very understandable english words she uses in it like Soldier Warrior and Valhalla and she couldn't understand her where as I heard it clearly but I also have listened to it a ton of times.
I am always nervous when American TH-camrs react to this song. Because Christian indoctrination runs so deep in American culture they usually attribute some sort of Christian message to it or mistakenly think it is a gospel or worship song. The band have said it is not a Christian worship song but instead carries a message of hope through the dark days of the Pandemic. Indeed the lyrics are mostly about grace to yourself and learning to love yourself which is incompatible with a Christian doctrine that teaches a person their essential worthlessness as a sinner. The song and video does use some Christian iconography but the band borrows heavily from many different religious and philosophical images including Greek mythology, animism, Nordic mythology, Buddhist philosophy, Shinto and even the obligatory heavy metal dash of Satanism. They are not Christians. That church is famous in the Japanese heavy metal scene; having now appeared in the videos of at least three different bands.
@@kakkoishonen "hallelujah" is not a religious term, though of Hebrew origin, but has been significantly co-opted by Christianity. It is simply an exclamatory expression even given in dictionary example as "Hallelujah! It’s finally the weekend!" with obviously no Christian connotation. Another example of this conflating particular words as religious being "gospel" which simply means "good news" which LOVEBITES brings with the admonition to self-love. While Christianity demands self-degradation, worthy of 'eternal damnation' before interjecting 'salvation' as it's claim to 'good news'.
The message of a song is simple if you don't love yourself, you don't have a positive impact on the world. And if about christianity and self-love I give text below: Self-love - self-love, driven by the desire for one's own happiness. Often associated with selfishness, although these are not synonyms. In contemporary Christian spirituality, it is emphasized that self-love is not evil in itself. The only bad thing is focusing attention on oneself (selfishness, narcissism). St. Augustine emphasized: Who cannot love himself, also cannot love his neighbor. St. Thomas Aquinas wrote that man was naturally made to love all good, including his own. Self-love is enriched and perfected through selfless love for others. A person's love for another person "comes from the love he has for himself". Natural love for oneself is a necessary and inalienable concern for the preservation of one's existence and its perfect development until reaching its final peak. Love is the ideal model for the development of all personal possibilities, including the pursuit of being happy and making others happy.
@@kakkoishonen There is not a single indication that the man in the video is Jesus only that he appears to bear the stigmata, symbolising personal suffering. The use of Hallelujah is a common triumphant epithet in English in the same way as Christian phases such as "Oh my God" or "To Hell with this" are commonly used by non-Christians. As I said earlier, the band have borrowed Christian iconography but that no more makes them Christians than the references to Valhalla in "Swan Song" makes them worshippers of Thor or the song "Dancing with the Devil" makes them Satanists.
by the way they also play thrash metal like Slayer / Metallica, here is the list:
- The Hammer Of Wrath (live Zepp Tokyo)
- Break The Wall (live Zepp Tokyo)
- Thunder Vengeance (live Zepp Tokyo)
* their albums was mixed by Mikko Karmila and mastered by Mika Jussila, who have worked with acts like Nightwish, Children of Bodom, and Stratovarius
My first time hearing them, but this is why I love power metal I had goosebumps in the whole video
Oh yes!! Finally guys you both check out Lovebites.
The best one metal band right now in the earth. And what a great reaction and review. I'm so enjoyed, thank you so much.
Next song try from they live concert. The song is "Break the wall" or "Holy war"
Or you can check another new MV of them. The song is "Winds of Transylvania"
Hope you both can enjoyed again.
And big thanks too for accepted my request and make this great video review to Lovebites.
I'm a old school thrash metal fan since 80's, but... this girls are amazing!! I love LOVEBITES so much!
LOVEBITES - Glory to the World lyrics:
Everything around us will fall into dark
When you keep on looking into the sadness
Nobody in this world may ever be free
My hearts will shiver and I can't take deep breath
But rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify
The dawn will come and bring the light in this world
Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me
Standing in nowhere and searching for meanings
A sleepless night haunting us like a shadow
A blur in the future, the fear of unknown
There will come a time where we can leave everything behind
Breeze are running through the land and endless to the sky
Together we will make it through this deep night
Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me
And rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify
The dawn will come and bring the light and lead us to a new world
Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Wherever you go, this world that we breathe together,
Nothing more precious

Glory Glory to LOVEBITES and to all my brothers and sisters of The Wolf Pack everywhere. We rule the ruins under their faithful command!. Best metal band to come along in 30+ years.
Founders Miho Bassist and Drummer Huruna after Destrose ended formed Lovebites recruiting Guitarists Midori and Guitarist Miyako who also composes and plays Keyboards as in Swan Song and singer Asami sings in English a Japanese style of enunciation though.
Great review!Thank you for taking up lovebites , which is one of the best heavy metal bands in the world
Yes please check out their live performances!!
Yes! These ladies are slay! Powerful, uplifting song 🤘as far as i listen to this band..lovebites still not dissapointed on their metal musically way...they are badass ladies
Thanks for your great reaction anyway, sir...great 🤘
If you want something more thrash metal try "Break the Wall" or "Hammer of Wrath" both Live at Zepp 2020
If you want some power metal "Holy War" or "Swan Song" both Live at Zepp 2020
As good as this band is in the studio, they are even better LIVE, so i would go with that!
(gotta have an exclamation-point for each band member on that news!)
молодчага Вася ! в теме
Two very different songs from Five of a Kind are (Power-Metal) "Rising": th-cam.com/video/Y_jrhzzcuRU/w-d-xo.html
(Thrash) "M.D.O.": th-cam.com/video/9BY0ZRrOnnc/w-d-xo.html both with lyrics embedded for clarity of understanding.
Here is Asami of LOVEBITES singing "Love Bites (so do I!)" with Lzzy & Halestorm at Download 2019:
th-cam.com/video/u7zuAlf5FBo/w-d-xo.html
This is the song that LOVEBITES took their name from, as Lzzy announces at the start of the song.
For you , headbangers, I suggest the songs “Hammer of wrath”, “Break the wall”, “Raise some hell”, “Scream for me”, “Shadowmaker”, “When destinies align”, “Signs of deliverance”, “Thunder vengeance”, “Dancing with the devil” (all live whenever possible)
Lineup:
Haruna: Drums
Miho: Bass
Midori: Lead & rhythm guitar
Miyako: Lead & rhythm guitar, keyboards and classical piano
Asami: Vocals
BTW, Midori and Miyako performed at NAMM 2020 (separate)
Nice Reactions...You have been bitten...Welcome to the WOLFPACK...LOVEBITES JOURNEY....
Actually in English. Glad you liked this. It's quite unusual in that they are not actually a religiously oriented band. But they are unique in Metal in that many of their songs are positive and uplifting. A little background:
They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981).
You should next check out “Holy War” live: "Holy War" Dual shred harmonies: th-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/w-d-xo.html
You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the quality is poor.
I had an ear to ear smile the whole time. Sick!
We already did it! It was uploaded a while ago. Took a copyright claim on it tho so we had to cut out the music video portion unfortunately.
One interesting fact about the vocalist, Asami, is that her singing background is mostly in r&b and jazz.
And Haruna the drummer moonlights as a panel-beater in a Tokyo Body-Shop...😉
Next lovebites 'Holy war' live..
Aníbal. Rivera 🤘🤘🤘🤘❤️
My favourite band, they are just the best.
🤘🤩🤘
React to "Holy War" live Toquio.
They have a brand new EP and is EPIC.
Yes that is a pentacle cut out of an old cymbal. The drummer, Haruna has had that as part of her trademark for many years. ⭐🤘
She do the same with his old band "Destrose"
We are lovebites and we play heavy metal 🤘

Lovebites have many songs in diferent styles that i hope you're going to enjoy as much or more than Glory to the world, i invite you to jump to the rabbit hole Lovebites offer, Thank you for a great and honest reaction! =)
Hey guys,
if you want to hear some squealing and howling guitars, check out 'Winds of Transylvania' from the same EP!🤘❤️🤘❤️🤘
Check Live performance especially Live from Zepp Divercity Tokyo 2020
Holy war, Break the wall, swan song, raise some hell, etc..
Asami is singing in English, she just has a thick Japanese accent. And this is her first metal band; before Lovebites, she sang R&B and Soul. One thing about their songs is, they pretty much all have a positive message.
Lovebites - EDGE OF THE WORLD WITH Miyako on piano as she is also a concert pianist
Aníbal Rivera ❤️❤️❤️❤️🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
The star cymbal, the drummer hits it to "spin" at the begging or the end of tunes.
Shadowmaker...Winds of Transylvania...The Crusade (Iron Maiden fans) can't go wrong with LoveBites
Literally found lovebites yesterday and thought to my self "Whats TwoToeTags think?"
I can’t wait to see how these girls are going to keep destroying our boundaries in future!!
dominating
I recommed 'Holy War, 'Edge of the World' and 'Epilogue' for starters.
great review, If you have a free time I want you to review Break the Wall / The Hammer Of Wrath (from the same concert) it's more thrash metal and will make you Jaw-dropping
amazing !!
Haruna-sama's star is a symbol, not a cymbal!
And if you think this was off the scale, you need to check out anything from their Zepp Diver City concert last year. just before covid hit, because Lovebites is even better live. Best metal band around, believe it.
Makes me want to pick up an ESP bass and play
Thank you for the reaction, guys!
Glad you love it!
can you react to their performance *Holy War LIVE*
that was killer performance btw🤘🏻😅
Lovebites is not a Christian band....in fact religión is not a thing in Japan....This song is a hymn of good vibes for people who suffer daily from the pandemic and depression.
@@maxmaidiac2237 Japanese are religious of course...but not Christians at all....most 80 percent of people of Japan are Shinto.....

Dont forget to include LOVEBITES name on the wall with others Heavy Metal Band..... :)
HARUNA !!! HARUNA !!! HARUNA !!!
Lovebites - Burden of time! Just go
Miyako playing keyboard and guitar at same time ]:P
You say that remember Sonata Arctica, and is true, but I think this song remember more of Angra on Temple of Shadows Album.
I really love this albums from Angra, of course Midori is a fan.
actually the song is in english LOL all their songs but one are in english, she just has a Reeaally strong accent-
Realized that afterwards lol derp!

More Lovebites please. I like your reaction. 👍🏼
I know that. I was replying to his comment early on in the video.
And by the way... Gru’po =)
Circle of fifths. Circle of fourths... ya ya ya... penta blaw blaw. Unplug the internet and crank up the volume. We’re here for the music not debates.
Man you must see them live, you'll never believe to your eyes and ears...
I feel like a little air of dragonforce but i like it
It reminds me those anime of 90 when the end was the "soundtrack" of the chapter. But in general it sound good vocals solo guitars it was great
Lovebites has been get tour together with Dragon Force in UK
Nice reaction. If you want to explore the japanese scene further then Nemophilia might be a nice next stop. Their latest single is really good. Otherwise i would recommend Unlucky Morpheus one of my favorites right now.
@8:40 re: i love the fact that it wasn't in english
Everything around us will fall into dark
When you keep on looking into the sadness
Nobody in this world may ever be free
My heart will shiver and I can't take deep breath
But rains will end and nights will pass, griefs will purify
The dawn will come and bring the light in this world
Grace to my heart, hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to believe
Standing in nowhere and searching for meanings
A sleepless night haunting us like a shadow
A blur in the future, the fear of unknown
There will come a time where we can leave everything behind
Breeze are running through the land and endless to the sky
Together we will make it through this deep night
Grace to my heart, hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to believe
And rains will end and nights will pass, griefs will purify
The dawn will come and bring the light and lead us to new world
Grace to my heart, hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Wherever you go, this world that we breathe together
Nothing more precious

Longtime all-female Japanese metal/rock fan here. Good to see you've finally ventured into exploring the current flag-bearers of metal: Japanese women! Dive in that rabbit hole! Lovebites currently tops my list but there's plenty more where that came from.
Yes, and even the building is a wedding chapel, not a church with a religious congregation and 'sermons'
But what about the "halleluya" part, the church and the Jesus guy with nailed hands ?
And if about christianity and self-love I give text below:
Self-love - self-love, driven by the desire for one's own happiness. Often associated with selfishness, although these are not synonyms.
In contemporary Christian spirituality, it is emphasized that self-love is not evil in itself. The only bad thing is focusing attention on oneself (selfishness, narcissism).
St. Augustine emphasized:
Who cannot love himself, also cannot love his neighbor.
That was all in English it’s just the accent like you said they are the goddesses of power metal for sure.
