I'm a 76 years old man and have heard every type of music. Be patient and get teady to experience the BEST damn band today!!!! They have over 50 original songs and everyone is very good!!!! Reaact to the live performances and you will have all of your questions answered!
You should see their harmonizing solos in live performances. That is impressive. This is studio recording. Also, they are thrash metal queens (check their thrash tracks)
I myself wasn't crazy about her vocals at first but it quickly grew on me to the point I Love this band. I grew up with bands like Exodus, Testament, Overkill along with the big 4. These ladies have a tremendous Thrash catalog. You would be surprised. Not a bad song in the bunch. Every genre I loved growing up can be found in this bands music. You should give them another chance..
That was my experience as well. It took me a little while to warm to her vocal style, but now I absolutely love it. Obviously she's no Floor Jansen (because no one is), and she's singing in a language that she is not fluent in, but I think her singing is PERFECT for Lovebites. And not only her singing, but the way she floats around the stage like an angel - its mesmerising. And when I see her have that cute little headbang at the start of "Hammer of Wrath", I go all weak at the knees.
@@2a.mreacts212 I also first wasn't that impressed with the vocals. What helped me, and also quite some other people with the same problem, was to listen to some of their slower songs, especially the "e-songs" like "Edge of the World", "Epilogue" and "Empty Daydream".
LOVEBITES - Glory to the World lyrics: Everything around us will fall into dark When you keep on looking into the sadness Nobody in this world may ever be free My hearts will shiver and I can't take deep breath But rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify The dawn will come and bring the light in this world Grace to my heart, Hallelujah I know you really care for me So I leave everything in your hands You'd walk with me all the way Learning to love yourself It is the greatest love of all Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me Standing in nowhere and searching for meanings A sleepless night haunting us like a shadow A blur in the future, the fear of unknown There will come a time where we can leave everything behind Breeze are running through the land and endless to the sky Together we will make it through this deep night Grace to my heart, Hallelujah I know you really care for me So I leave everything in your hands You'd walk with me all the way Learning to love yourself It is the greatest love of all Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me And rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify The dawn will come and bring the light and lead us to a new world Grace to my heart, Hallelujah I know you really care for me So I leave everything in your hands You'd walk with me all the way Learning to love yourself It is the greatest love of all Wherever you go, this world that we breathe together, Nothing more precious ----- lyrics: asami music: midori & Mao arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami)
Tru dat. My 15 te old niece set me up . She was like "you GATTA watch this! ."When Destinies Align" So do the math. 15 yr old niece + 5 stunning women dressed like prom queens equals a Jpop death sentence. Next thing I know; milk is everywhere and I got fruit loops coming out of my nose. .. 🤘🐺🇵🇱
The Goddesses of Heavy Metal. You need to see a live performance. They shine as a live band. Check out Holy War, Set The World On Fire or Break the wall. They play power, speed and thrash metal to perfection. This song was written to give hope to their fans after the pandemic, but they are most definitely not a religious band. And I’m pretty sure Asami’s vocals will grow on you. She is amazing live. 🤘🏻🐺
The story behind this song: The overall message of the song is to give hope to everyone who has suffered loss and grief through the pandemic. The religius elements came about after Midori (blonde guitarist) visited to the United States for an appearance at NAMM. While she was here, she was invited to see some Southern Gospel churches, and she was impressed with their passion, so she wanted to write a song that was a tribute to that experience. Vocalist Asami, in keeping with Midori's desire to make a song that captured some elements of gospel music, threw some gospel tropes into the lyrics (she was also an R&B, Soul and Gospel singer before joining Lovebites). And it was filmed around Christmas time, so they decided to incorporate the Jesus figure in the video. Asami said it was imagining what it would be like for Christ if he were reincarnated into the confusing modern world. However, they are not an overtly religious band, and again, the overriding message was hope during the pandemic, with the religious elements just being a tribute to Midori's experience on her trip here. If you dive deeper into their material, you'll find that spiritual elements are common in their lyrics, but they are often a mix of Christian and Buddhist beliefs (which is a common blend in Japan). The church it is filmed in is very popular with several Japanese heavy metal bands. I strongly recommend that you check out more of their music. This song is symphonic power metal, which is the most common style they play in, but they also have several songs that are pure thrash in the style of Slayer and Metallica, some progressive metal, and some that are inspired by NWOBHM, especially Iron Maiden. Their two main influences as a band are Iron Maiden and Helloween. Individual members also name Judas Priest, Angra, Metallica, Kirk Hammet, Ritchie Blackmore, Gary Moore, Kiko Loureiro, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Harris, and Yngwie as influences. Alicia Keys is Asami's major influence.
What also nearly nobody seems to get is, that the main line of the chorus is from a song written by George Benson, that was however made really popular by Whitney Houston : "The greatest love of all". But i guess Asami at least knows where it comes from 😄
You need to see them Live, they are not a religious band, but in this song they use cristhian imaginary for inspiration. Try the thrash side of them with Set The world on fire, The Hammer of wrath or Break The Wall.
GOOD REACTION, HOWEVER YOU WILL HEAR ABOUT STOPPING DURING SOLOS. YOU REALLY NEED TO LISTEN TO, HOLY WAR, SET THE WORLD ON FIRE AND BREAK THE WALL. TO GIVE YOURSELF TO SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO. BEST HEAVY MEYAL BAND TO COME ALONG IN YEARS. WOLFPACK FOR LIFE
Definitely not my first pick for a song from Lovebites. It is not really religious, but the purpose was to give hope during the pandemy. Also the band suffered a lot from it, since they could not get out and play. As a contrast to this title, they have a song called "Raise some hell"... 😁 I know you will get tons of tips here and please try different songs, since the variation is big. I have not even heard better thrash, I listened much to Slayer in the past, but never as much as I listen to Lovebites. They cover everything I need in metal. Their two most insane songs, I think are "Set the world on fire" and "Winds of Transylvania". The Lovebites fans LOVE Asamis voice and would never replace her... 😉 And you get this kind of guitar playing in practically all their songs
@@dragulia_venaro yes. Usually i'm not recommended this song for the first time. I'm recommended "Set the world on fire" or "Winds of Transylvania" But sometimes, reactor have they own choice
We're not opposed, by any means, to putting more Lovebites on our channel. However, It's not something we plan on covering as much as many of their fans would prefer. We do hope that our next venture into this rabbit hole has a little more for us to discuss, tho.
@@2a.mreacts212 I think you might change your mind on how much coverage of Lovebites you want to give once you hear one or two more songs by them. I recommend their thrash metal songs like Break the Wall or Set the World on FIre.
Expect that Japanese bands don't fit in a box that you are used to. Japan is coming with lots of, for us westerners, fresh sound and ideas from so many bands. I have stopped listen to boring western metal and are absorbed of fresh out of the box Japanese hardrock, metal and punk bands......
Phenomenal band!! Asami's voice tends to grown on ya!! She's perfect for Lovebites!! 🤘🙂🤘 Check out their song Brake the Wall Live - th-cam.com/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/w-d-xo.html
Lovebites is phenomenal heavy metal band now. These ladies so talented and dedicated. They produce almost 50 songs and all of 'em was damn good. Yes, their live performance was the best and some of it were masterpiece, epic, mind blowing and goosebump. Dig more of them🤘🤘👍👍🔥🔥
This band existed for about 5 years and English is not her first language so yes, she does have a really heavy accent in her singing. But you can't deny that her lyric writing is deep and positive, inspiring.
I'm not a native English speaker, so growing up to me music was always first. Lyrics were a bonus, but all my focus was on the instruments, everything the do and everything I could hear connect and how it came together. That was always my rush, so to me whenever I hear people complaining about how they cant understand what its been said is so frustrating 'cause all I can think about is 'you're missing the music!'... just a thought ;)
thank you for answering our question. That is how Crystal listens to music in a foreign language, but she prefers to listen to the lyrics and the message that they convey. to her it gives the song more meaning. I(Dirk) am much like you in the way I approach music. I am much more drawn to the music and what the instruments say to me and the lyrics are a nice bonus most of the time.
I appreciate your reaction. You heard LOVEBITES for the first time. I don't expect you to understand and love them right away. You are calm and analytical, not like those who start out with denials and insults, or those who start out excited and praising. You were interested in, and got a glimpse of their talent. I love LOVEBITES. I hope that you will listen to their music more and realize their true value. I recommend live version of "set the world on fire" and "edge of the world". By the way, I disagree with your comment "80's Punk".
Thank you for understanding our approach. as far as the 80's punk comment, She was referring to that blond guitarist's aesthetic. not the sound. also I think she meant early pop punk. We are definitely looking forward to seeing more of them.
a lot of reactors that see this video for their first LOVEBITES exposure usually get the mistaken impression that they may be some sort of religious metal band. completely the opposite is true and you might want to give them another chance by watching a live performance. they are the queens of power , speed and thrash metal and everything in between. try the song 'set the world on fire' live from last year and be melted : th-cam.com/video/99zsH6iG_6c/w-d-xo.html
@@ChadTheDragonLord good point - never thought of that . heh heh ! they are definitely not that either. although i have seen one or two reactors see the pentagram and think otherwise. but we know that's not the case
@@ChadTheDragonLord No - the opposite of a religious band is a non-religious band, which Lovebites definitely is. "Satanism" is a religion, and so a "Satanic" band (if such a thing even exists) would actually also be a "religious band". Just saying.
Japanese girl rock band 30 years ago, pop rock band princess princess hard rock band It started with SHOW-YA. And now as a professional About 30 to 50 groups of Japanese girl rock bands are major, There are about 20 professional women's hard rock bands.
My friends don't write them off just yet. You are making assumptions based off of one song which will lead you astray. #1 They are NOT a religious band even though this song has religious elements in it. #2 They don't just play power metal, they have several heavy thrash songs which will blow you away. #3 they always wear white, not to appear angelic, nor for just this music video, but to stand out on stage and to stand out from all the other metal bands who wear black. Lovebites is totally unique. Now you may not care for her vocal style, which is fine as we all have different tastes. Just remember, she has a Japanese accent because English is not her first language. The more you listen to her the easier it gets to understand. It always baffles me why people put so much stock in making out the words. There are many, many heavy metal bands whose vocals you can't understand. Her voice is beautiful.
I'm a heavy metals fans in the late 80/90 era mostly westerners bands i don't know what they are saying but i like the music . I don't know anything about Jmetal before not until one day I found LOVEBITES on TH-cam straight away blown my mind.
Her voice IS beautiful. that was never a question. as for us not really understanding her, that was mostly due to the volume of the accompaniment. (though, my headphones are a little old so that may have something to do with it) thanks for the explanation as to them wearing white. it completely makes sense. and, finally, We have full intentions of reacting to more of this extremely talented band. We really did enjoy the experience and are looking forward to hearing what else they have in store.
Alot to take in on first contact. To the gentleman, old-school metal fan? Could see your first reaction and you get it. ASAMI's operatic "Maidenesque" vocals are perfect for this traditional European-style metal band IMO. Keep going man, you might just have discovered your new favorite metal band. 🤘🐺🤘
@@TheCyberMantis I sure hope they check out more now that the shock that beautiful ladies in white gowns can deliver a positive, uplifting message while playing metal better than anyone ever has done before.
I(Dirk) am certainly impressed with what I've heard so far. and Yes I'm a classic metal fan, but I also like some contemporary metal, as well. like Falling in Reverse, and Shinedown. We have full intentions of checking out more of their work.
Welcome to the world of Lovebites the best heavy metal band existing on planet earth 🌏 now. This song is about the world after the covid pandemic... They are not a punk rock.. they base is heavy metal but they can play speed metal.. thrash metal... progressif rock and etc... Next.. try to listen Holy War or Set The World On Fire or The Hammer Of Wrath... Just for your info... they won Best New Band by Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award 2018... Touring with Dragonforce in UK Tour 2018.. Performing at Wacken Open Air 2018... Performing at Download Festival both UK and Spain 2019... The singer have invited to ft with Lizzy Hale and Halestorm... They had cover Eagle Fly Free by Helloween and Painkiller by Judas Priest... Yesss... Asami not a rock singer like Alissa White Gluz that can growl... she also not like Tarja or Ginjer or Simone Simon or Floor Jansen... but for me I respect her effort.. hardwork.. dedication to metal genre because she came from nothing.. zero knowledge about metal and now she knows the band like Halestorm.. Judas Priest.. Helloween.. Slayer.. Megadeth.. Metallica.. Testament and etc... The others members had band before and experience to play rock and metal... The singer have said that she have to chamge her style of singing but the others members said no! By the way... thanks to react to our Alpha... maybe try other song and who knows that you can find what are you looking for.... Untill then.. stay safe and stay metal... 🤘🤘🐺🐺🤘🤘....
The fact that she was invited to work with Lzzy Hale is pretty awesome. We love Halestorm as well as Judas Priest. the fact that this band was her first experience with metal makes sense. We were in no way discrediting her talent, it was just a bit jarring to hear that kind of singing with the hard metal accompaniment. also it was a little hard to hear her over the music.
@@2a.mreacts212 Lovebites did a cover of Painkiller. Obviously no one can match Rob Halford's vocals, but the guitars, drums and bass by Lovebites was a perfect match, if not better. th-cam.com/video/T0MIMxFrcqU/w-d-xo.html

This is a live band, not the best song to start your journey with Lovebites.. Watch the hammer of wrath live... if you like bass... The drummer is 4'8" tall and is a power house, she keeps this pace up for a 2hour set.. The twin leads M&M are right up there with the greats.. Don't pass on this band after one look... There is so much more to see.. Their ballads are outstanding and their combination of Classical piano and face melting metal is crazy good.. Do some more.. The Japanese accent is hard at first, but you will get used to it and fall in love with her in time. She is a great front woman.. Do some lives.. Break the wall, raise some hell, Thunder vengence, shadowmaker, Frozen serenade, Signs of deliverance, We the united, M.D.O., The list is long and distinguished.. Best wishes from France...
Thanks for giving props to Miho, the bassist! As a bassist myself, one of the very first things I noticed when I first saw this video (like you, this was the first song I heard from them) was that she is playing *fingerstyle* at that speed. Unbelievable! Most bassists playing this fast use a pick. I've been playing fingerstyle bass since 1985, and I've never been able to even approach this kind of speed (and now I'm in my mid-50s, and my fingers just wouldn't go that fast even if I tried). As far as the lyrics go, as somebody else already mentioned the song was inspired by visits to Christian churches. So the lyrics have ended up with a vaguely "Christian" theme. But Japan isn't a "Christian country", and so in the same way that Western bands writing songs incorporating themes from non-Western religions tend to get some of the details wrong, Lovebites has also missed the mark, theologically-speaking. But, credit for the effort. And to echo what others have said: You have to watch their live stuff. The reproduce this stuff flawlessly, often even better than the studio versions.
Damn...Lovebites...soo Good 🔥🔥🔥🤘😎🤘 The Queens of (Power;Thrash;Heavy;)Metal !!! Perhaps you'll Check them out "live" ?! Thank's and stay save...btw : Asami,Asami,Asami 🔥🔥🔥
HARUNA the drummer, all of about 5 feet tall will keep this up for the full concert. You must listen to Frozen Seranade to get a different perspective. Also best guitar duo ever.
This song is polarizing and I've seen before the non religious tend to be triggered by it. Then blame the singer for singing the lyrics. But shout out to the husband who recognized greatness.
This song is not religious. It's about the world over coming the epidemic. I'm kind of disappointed that you made such a quick judge over the band, you actually haven't even scratched the surface. Try Edge of the World th-cam.com/video/UZjxMjBop7w/w-d-xo.html, or Swan Song with Revolutionary Etude th-cam.com/video/WBhtqgiXEA4/w-d-xo.html if you want to go a little father exploring this band. BTW, the band was founded by the bassist and the drummer and they met the guitarists, then they found the singer from R&B field. They wanted the band this way with that singer. The band doesn't think the singer doesn't fit the band. The singer may not fits to your preference but the band likes that way. Everyone has each own preference but It's worth to try to give a chance to something new to you.
@@TheCyberMantis Well, they have their own taste just like we all do, buddy. They might change finding another aspect of Lovebites in the next reaction. Let's expect for the new bassist, Ichinose (with fingers crossed) might be practicing with the band like hell for her debut right now.
We didn't say that they were a religious band. We said that the song had religious overtones. obviously the band likes her. We're not even saying that we don't like her. We were just saying that IN THIS SONG her sound didn't seem to fit. Never in life would we downplay her talent. however, as we were told, her vocals are likely to grow on us. To us, she sounds more like a Broadway singer than R&B, but then again we're more familiar with American R&B than Japanese R&B, so that doesn't really mean much.
You’ve just discovered the best metal band on the planet.. You should listen to more from them. Suggestions include Thunder Vengeance (live) and Set The World On Fire (live). Don’t let their looks fool you, and they’re not religious in their music.
We figure that they weren't really a Christian band. We were just noting the overtones the song used to convey it's message. also we do plan on checking out more of their work soon.
they are THE BEST METAL BAND in the world and this is a guy who saw zeppelin 21 times and metallica over 60 times. check all the live stuff. they both do solos in every song!!!!!! try SHADOWMAKER WHEN DESTINES ALIGN HAMMER OF WRATH BREAK THE WALL promise you will not be disappointed.
We have all of those songs on our list. we do plan on keeping them in rotation. despite anything you heard us say in the video, we really liked the experience of this new band,
it also might have to do with her japanese accent is also why you might not beable to understand her but i love this band Miyako the black hair guitarist is one of the greatest guitarist i have ever seen and midori is pretty good as well before you stop reacting to the band you should do Break The Wall, Shadowmaker, Raise Some Hell Epilogue and Edge of the World these are some of their best songs please let me know what you think
We have no intention of stopping our reactions to this incredible band. They will be incorporated into our normal rotation. We're sorry if we gave the impression that we didn't like them. We really did.
Even though this is an MV, you’ve just watched greatness. These Japanese women are extremely talented, skillful, versatile and proficient musicians. They really shine in their live performances. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just six years. Asami used to sing R&B, jazz and soul before she joined Lovebites. Miyako is a concert level pianist. I agree, this is a great song but not the right one to react for the very first time. If you like heavy stuff, I recommend “Set the world on fire”, “The Awakening/Hammer of wrath”, “Break the wall”, “Winds of Transylvania”, “Raise some hell”, “Shadowmaker”, “Above the Black Sea”, “Under the red sky”, “Dancing with the devil”, “Scream for me” (all live)
Thank you, Martin. We agree to everything you said about the band's talent and skill. We didn't know that Miyako is a concert level pianist, so thanks for that as well. we also appreciate your suggestions.
Probably not the best 1st song to hear from them, it's a masterpiece but may give the wrong idea. They've been around since 2017 and this is a newer song, it is not a xian song, it's an inspirational song not to any specific religion, but whatever article of universal faith inspires you personally, it's just about following the light out of the darkness. Whatever that light may be for you. As for their accent, yes she has an accent, but those of us who've followed them know it takes little time to get use to it and I can understand every word without a problem. They are masters and their catalog is nothing but continuous masterpieces. If a person is NOT into Speed, Power, Thrash and Symphonic metal they won't enjoy this band. All Glory to LOVEBITES and all my brothers and sisters in The Wolf Pack everywhere.
We understand, and even commented on that message of following the light out of the dark. Crystal was actually commenting on the young lady's vibrato not her accent. She really liked it. all in all, we really liked the song and was very impressed by the band.
This is actually the only overtly religious song they've done. A lot of their songs have a spiritual component, but no specifically religious references. Anyway, thank you for taking Hiu's suggestion, and welcome to the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. They have themselves said that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like a demon). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Here are more clips you should check out: Their most recently posted live clips, “Set the World on Fire” th-cam.com/video/99zsH6iG_6c/w-d-xo.html and “Don’t Bite the Dust” th-cam.com/video/oHnKGEj1CMc/w-d-xo.html, which are both from their recently released concert DVD “Heavy Metal Never Dies”. "Edge of the World" and "We the United", back to back: th-cam.com/video/sl0-U-ykJCU/w-d-xo.html They form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope. Also, “Empty Daydream”, which starts as a ballad and becomes a real rocker: th-cam.com/video/lXh_uMM94jU/w-d-xo.html; “Holy War”: th-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/w-d-xo.html Miyako is also a professional-level concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. If you want to see what she can do on the piano, watch “Swan Song” WITH the prelude, which is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude” (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude. This link should work: th-cam.com/video/WBhtqgiXEA4/w-d-xo.html. For a thrasher with heavy Slayer and Metallica vibes, “Break the Wall” th-cam.com/video/G021aP2ao6Y/w-d-xo.html includes two gorgeous and completely contrasting solos by M&M. For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” th-cam.com/video/1ynnXDfEnnY/w-d-xo.html (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both) Finally, while you will sometimes hear you should only react to live clips, as you saw, their MV’s are epic and worth seeing. Here are three more of the most spectacular: "Shadowmaker" th-cam.com/video/Brmoln5Gxus/w-d-xo.html This is the song that blew up and melted faces all over the world "When Destinies Align" th-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/w-d-xo.html "Winds of Transylvania" th-cam.com/video/HsE4Ub_Pjh8/w-d-xo.html. You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Also, you can’t go wrong with any of their official clips. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!
If you think this was good, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Their live concert performances are even better than their music videos. Theses ladies are highly polished, professional musicians. You should watch at least one more before casting a final judgement because they have a wide repertoire. If you like heavy thrash, check their live song Set The World on Fire. If you like a song with a wide arrangement, like Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven, then check their song Swan Song with Chopin Intro. Lovebites are taking the world by storm.
This is definitely not the song to start with. I'd recommend Holy War, set the world on fire, thunder vengeance, or break the wall. All are more traditional 80's metal. As others have mentioned, they are not a religious band, though they do tend to have many inspirational songs and positive messages. They also have tons of songs that don't fit that category, but that's fine too. They are better live
Looks like I got to this party very late. I looked through some of the recent comments but I am not going through the whole thing. As others have said, probably ad nauseam, Lovebites is not a religious band and certainly not a Christian band. However, like most Japanese, they have a spiritual side and that is reflected in the lyrics to several of their songs. The Japanese have never found the need to divide themselves into different religious organizations but they are also not atheists, as I think at least one commenter claimed. Midori, the stage right guitarist, was inspired by western church services to write this song and Asami wrote lyrics based upon that inspiration. Because Japanese spirituality is very individual and family based, no Japanese watching this video would have any issue over what inspires another person. We in the west, however, are much more knee jerk in our tribalistic reactions to such things. I strongly encourage a reaction to another Lovebites song. My suggestion is Set The World On Fire from a 2021 concert. It has the benefits of being live, relatively new and more representative of their music. Set The World On Fire - th-cam.com/video/99zsH6iG_6c/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for your perspective. comments like this are one of the reasons we do this. We love when people have discussions about the content of our videos. We realize that they aren't a religious band, we were just commenting on the religious overtones and to hear that the song's atmosphere was inspired by western churches makes perfect sense. We are looking forward to more Lovebites on our channel.
Its just english with japanese accent. Not every person familiar with every accent in this world. As for lovebites i suggested to check their live performances. Holy war live at tokyo divercity could be a good one to start
As others have commented, this is not a Christian rock band. This track is more of their feel good we'll get thru covid song. This is a bit of an odd intro song for this band, check out Raise some hell, break the wall, hammer of wrath, set the world on fire etc
We were just told that we should check out Lovebites. and that they were a great Japanese female metal band. We just picked the newest song that we came upon.
@@2a.mreacts212 Glory to the World does have the most views of all their videos (which is somewhat surprising to me). So I can't blame you for choosing it.
1:56 ????? Punk band? WOW first time I have heard that comparison in over 500 reactions. So far off the mark. I assume that comment came from seeing Midori's blonde hair style. (which looks gorgeous in my opinion). Looks nothing like any of the punk bands I remember with mohawks and hair that sticks straight up.
My wife was referring to the look. I think what she meant was more of a pop-punk style, but that's what she meant (I also really liked her hair style. I think it suits her)
I do appreciate your honesty. I'm a big fan of them, but I find their studio recordings a bit over produced for my taste (not necessarily the girls' fault). I'd recommend trying one their live clips before passing final judgement.
If you hear Slayer in THIS?? you'll be happy to continue exploring this band. Try , - BREAKING THE WALL - LIVE. It doesn't disappoint, I promise on Thors Hammer!
Not labeling anybody at all. we just mentioned that the song had religious overtones. We plan on having more Lovebites on our channel because they are a kickin' band.
Greetings from WOLFPACK 🇵🇱 POLAND You already get an onslaught of fans.. have to listen to "BREAK THE WALL "THUNDER VENGEANCE That will give you better understanding of them. MUCH RESPECT ✌️💓 FROM 🐺 POLAND 🇵🇱 Dgg'n yer jam
This song in particular is one we fans recommend later on in a reactors journey because of Asami’s vocals can throw people off so you’re perception is okay. Even though their studio music is great and all the band is much better live and while this song is more Power Metal they do also play thrash May I recommend their song Break The Wall (live) th-cam.com/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/w-d-xo.html so you have something to compare this video to
Nice start into Japanese Rock/Metal. Forget about the boring US and European Metal scene. You will find many female (or female dominated) bands here. The most important (afaik) are: - Lovebites - Band-Maid - Nemophila - Asterism But you should also check out bands like: - Unlucky Morpheus - Mary's Blood - Rie a.k.a. Suzaku - Aldious - Bridear - Ningen Isu - Bray Me - Broken By The Scream - Show-Ya - LoVendoЯ - Cyntia - Drop's - Whiskey Dust - Sokoninaru - Yosei Teikoku - Maximum The Hormone - Ironbunny - Waggaki Band - Telecide - Babymetal - Ladybaby - Passcode - Scandal - Saiseiga - Hanabie - Tokyo Groove Jyoshi - Trident - Zettai Club - Cinq Element - Cluppo - D_Drive - Doll$Boxx - Fate Gear - Gacharic Spin - Glim Spanky - Hagane - Kiyoshi ....and many more, but I think this will do for the start. Have fun during the next few months! OH! And don´t forget: "The Warning" from Mexico "The Fix" "Rolling Quartz" and "Leenzy" from South Korea "Dea Matrona" from Ireland "Larkin Poe" & "Haim" from The US "Nightwish" from Finland "The Hu" from Mongolia "Voice of Baceprot" from Indonesia "Jinjer" from Ukraine...and last but not least... "Electric Callboy" from Germany!
Lovebites have no equals, talent wise. They have a catalogue of 50 tracks, all different. As a fan, this track was excellent from day one, but as an introduction to the band for newcomers it’s definitely not the song I’d have suggested. It was released at the height of Covid and is an analogy about the world making it’s way through it. Obviously they couldn’t sing about a flu pandemic, that would have been turgid. The guitarist on our left was intrigued by gospel music on visits to the U.K. and US. She wrote the song (her first) and probably had a big say in the videos theme. It is unfortunate that because it includes certain references it sounds like a religious song, but it isn’t, and nor do the band identify with any religion, Christian or otherwise. The word hallelujah appears in several Lovebites songs, but is the expression of rejoicing that is why it’s used. The ladies are all Japanese, and the Japanese language is not akin to any other language, not even Korean. This means that they will incorporate words and phrases, with the help of Japanese speakers who are also fluent in English, that may not necessarily be used by English speakers….let alone American speakers (yes, I think it’s about time it was recognised as it’s own language!) 90% of their material is available on TH-cam (mostly pirated) in live performances. It will probably shock you to learn that they are as good, many people, myself included, believe better, live. They play with immaculate precision, nanosecond timing and they play at mostly that pace for approximately two hours, with encores. That means finger picking bass at high speed, guitar picking at high speed, almost constant double bass artillery and Asami, the vocalist, reaching those peaks with relative ease and no sign of strain for 120 minutes. And the encores are treated as a spectacle, the band returning to the stage with dramatic introductory music. At this point there will be several suggestions for you to take a look at the 2020 live performance of “Holy War”, the “standard” introductory track for most reactions. Here again I’m going to be contrary, and suggest an utter change of pace and mood, yet with breathtaking musical ability and really emotional vocals. For although Asami sings power ballads most of the time (so yes, she does fit the band, she was chosen specifically because she’s a mezzo soprano) she was for several years a backing vocalist and RnB/Jazz oriented. She’s also a semi trained ballet dancer. The song I think, no, strongly urge you to watch next is “Epilogue”, link below. th-cam.com/video/JIAJYBuuKGM/w-d-xo.html
It's not a church band at all.. Their music is heavier than any japanese female metal band.. Maybe, heavier than you think.. They did Heavy metal, Power metal, Power ballad, Thrash metal, and Hard-rock.. But I suggest to watch their live performance, because they're so much better live.. Please don't judge them right away after hearing just one song.. At least, watch their live performance first, and you can talk what you think.. Have a great day..
don´t write them off. they are the best band since a long time and not religious. the video was shot in a wedding chapel in tokyo, which is used by many japanese metal bands for videos. because it was short before christmas, they wanted some solemn iconography. the second storyline with the young man was about "what would it be like if he came back now? " the lyrics for this one are inspired by gospels. I recommend "raise some hell" live 2020 (heavy rock), "holy war" live 2020 (powermetal), break the wall live 2020 (thrash) and "set the world on fire" live 2021 (thrash) don´t miss.
We have no intention of writing them off. Thanks for the insight into the video and the inspiration. We will look into your suggestions and Lovebites is part of our normal rotation, now.
Bad reaction. You stop it every 5 seconds to make comments about a band you never seen before. And you can't know anything about this band from watching 30 seconds of a music video. You are nit-picking too much. You have no idea what this band does. Watch ten more Lovebites videos, and then come back and revisit your comments. Watch their live performances. This music video is not something I would recommend to a first-time listener. If you check out more Lovebites songs, you will understand what you just discovered. If not...... your loss. ( Wolfpack is here for LOVEBITES! )
I agree with you. If there are so many pauses, I don't feel like watching in the middle of the song, and above all, it spoils the goodness of the song, no matter how great it is. Praising even bad reactors is not in the best interest of LoveBites and the wolf pack should not do it.
@@jaddnar6547 You interrupt the flow of the song when you pause it. It's okay to pause it a few times, but not every 5 seconds. Elizabeth Zarhoff does this too, and I can't watch her stupid channel. I have no idea why she has so many subscribers. She is terrible.
As for the lyrics.....I listen metal....others talk about satan god war mythology swords drugs love murders....and many times in death netal I don't understand a word....the lyrics are lyrics.. ..music makes the difference...
We appreciate you answering our question. I (Dirk) personally agree. I've always been more moved by the music of a song than the lyrics. Crystal, on the other hand, has always been more in tune with the lyrics and the message that they convey. everyone looks for different things in music and that's what is so great about musical conversations. everyone has something to contribute.
A curiosity :) : Japanese are not religious. They are atheists. In origin, they are Shintoists. Shintoism is not monotheistic but animistic culture. A spiritual practice or popular philosophy and not a doctrinal religion. And the setting itself is a...setting. It's not a church :) The theme was addressed to the worst phase of the pandemic. This song helped many headbangers who faced depression. Lovebites is an amazing band. Everything about them is different: they are women (Heavy metal is predominantly male. And the criteria too, but but these women are independent and rock!), they are not concerned with gratuitous aggression in music (their focus is music), they dress in white (and not in black). At the same time, they all possess immense talent. We rock fans got this great gift, this wonderful new heavy metal band. Please more Lovebites! In concert the vocalist Asami says, " - We are Lovebites. And we play Heavy Metal!!!!"🤘 - After listening, we came to the conclusion that there is no doubt about it and they are spectacular! Long live Lovebites! 🎸🎸🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
you have to agree that the set looks like a church. But we never said that the song was a religious song. We said that had religious overtones. Personally I(Dirk) think that by using religious overtones and settings, they were more easily able to convey the message of hope that they intended.
A video that makes no sense at all. just disturbing the music. Talk cuts the music apart so you can't concentrate and the music loses its goodness. messed up configuration.
just my suggest,,try don't to much skip when reacting, cause you will lost the spirit of the song....anyways lovebites is another level musician.... every lovebites members very educated ..and we can see very such talented..... just my suggest..next try to react ;EMPTY DAYDREAM or A FROZEN SERENADE,,you will see MIYAKO (Dean Guitar) play guitar and world class piano

You and many other talk about Slayer vibe, i guess you heard it from some other channel. All of you are so wrong, you know nothing. Construction of each song is similiar only to one band and that"s Iron Maiden. It"s not the vibe or the melody, it"s construction and complexity of every song. If you don"t understand, i am sorry, i don"t know what else to tell you. You can give them another chance, or not. It doesn"t matter,i don"t think i"ll watch your channel again
This was our FIRST time hearing them at all. as far as the Slayer comment, I was referring to the first 15 seconds of the song with the sudden explosion of heavy guitar and bass.
@@2a.mreacts212 You just need to ignore the very small portion of the Lovebites fans that spout stuff like Milos L. I appreciate their passion but they lack the class of the ladies they claim to be fans of. I guess he was serious about not returning to your channel since he never answered my question. I doubt he could have anyway. Miho, who started the band and unfortunately left last year, is a huge fan of Iron Maiden but she is also a fan of Slayer. Midori, who came up with the idea of this song and was the cowriter, is a huge fan of the Brazilian guitarist Kiko Loureiro. formerly with Angra and now with Megadeth. I doubt Iron Maiden had any impact on this song at all.
I'm a 76 years old man and have heard every type of music. Be patient and get teady to experience the BEST damn band today!!!! They have over 50 original songs and everyone is very good!!!! Reaact to the live performances and you will have all of your questions answered!
Thank you for your opinion and perspective, Friend.
You should see their harmonizing solos in live performances. That is impressive. This is studio recording. Also, they are thrash metal queens (check their thrash tracks)
Sounds good to me (Dirk)
I myself wasn't crazy about her vocals at first but it quickly grew on me to the point I Love this band. I grew up with bands like Exodus, Testament, Overkill along with the big 4. These ladies have a tremendous Thrash catalog. You would be surprised. Not a bad song in the bunch. Every genre I loved growing up can be found in this bands music. You should give them another chance..
🤘🐺🤘
That was my experience as well. It took me a little while to warm to her vocal style, but now I absolutely love it. Obviously she's no Floor Jansen (because no one is), and she's singing in a language that she is not fluent in, but I think her singing is PERFECT for Lovebites. And not only her singing, but the way she floats around the stage like an angel - its mesmerising. And when I see her have that cute little headbang at the start of "Hammer of Wrath", I go all weak at the knees.
We plan to check out more of their work. Thanks for your perspective.
@@2a.mreacts212 I also first wasn't that impressed with the vocals. What helped me, and also quite some other people with the same problem, was to listen to some of their slower songs, especially the "e-songs" like "Edge of the World", "Epilogue" and "Empty Daydream".
Here for my daily Lovebites fix 🐺
LOVEBITES - Glory to the World lyrics:
Everything around us will fall into dark
When you keep on looking into the sadness
Nobody in this world may ever be free
My hearts will shiver and I can't take deep breath
But rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify
The dawn will come and bring the light in this world
Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me
Standing in nowhere and searching for meanings
A sleepless night haunting us like a shadow
A blur in the future, the fear of unknown
There will come a time where we can leave everything behind
Breeze are running through the land and endless to the sky
Together we will make it through this deep night
Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me
And rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify
The dawn will come and bring the light and lead us to a new world
Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Wherever you go, this world that we breathe together,
Nothing more precious

The Goddesses of Heavy Metal. You need to see a live performance. They shine as a live band. Check out Holy War, Set The World On Fire or Break the wall. They play power, speed and thrash metal to perfection. This song was written to give hope to their fans after the pandemic, but they are most definitely not a religious band. And I’m pretty sure Asami’s vocals will grow on you. She is amazing live. 🤘🏻🐺
Totally agree with you
Thanks for the recommendations. I was actually saying that the song has religious overtones. I didn't mean to imply that they were a "Religious band"
But i guess Asami at least knows where it comes from 😄
We are aware of the song. it just seems a little out of place in my opinion. That's not a complaint, really, it just caught me off guard.
You need to see them Live, they are not a religious band, but in this song they use cristhian imaginary for inspiration. Try the thrash side of them with Set The world on fire, The Hammer of wrath or Break The Wall.
We are getting a lot of recommendations for Set the World on Fire. the next time we react to them it will probably be that one.
Cool that one is fire like the name!

Stop yelling, man we hear you! lol
I'm a 80s son and Lovebites is my favourite band for the last 5 years. You didn't heard nothing yet.
We believe you.
Definitely not my first pick for a song from Lovebites. It is not really religious, but the purpose was to give hope during the pandemy. Also the band suffered a lot from it, since they could not get out and play. As a contrast to this title, they have a song called "Raise some hell"... 😁
I know you will get tons of tips here and please try different songs, since the variation is big.
Yeah, it's not like Hiu Fernando at all..

This is a monumental comment !!! It should be written in stone. I am pleased. Bravo!
thank you for answering our question.
Yup lyrics are secondary.
it was suppose to be a song of hope after covid hit

Yeah, their reaction was ridiculous. So much nit-picking. They have no idea what they just stumbled on to. 😑

I don't even want to say what I am thinking. Way too much nit-picking from them. And they ain't seen shit yet. 😑
@@TheCyberMantis I sure hope they check out more now that the shock that beautiful ladies in white gowns can deliver a positive, uplifting message while playing metal better than anyone ever has done before.

We fully intend to have them on our channel again. We really did enjoy the song and are looking forward to hearing more.
@@2a.mreacts212 I will look out for that Thanks.. :)
Thanks for that. and I'm more than happy to highlight a great bassist. and she is a phenomenal bassist.
Damn...Lovebites...soo Good 🔥🔥🔥🤘😎🤘 The Queens of (Power;Thrash;Heavy;)Metal !!! Perhaps you'll Check them out "live" ?! Thank's and stay save...btw : Asami,Asami,Asami 🔥🔥🔥

’m ready to go on now to another adventure.
Great reaction! Lovebites is a fantastic Power / Trash/ Classic metal band!
Please check more.
Subscribed, greetings from Japan.
Thank you, Friend. We will be checking out "Set the World on Fire" very soon
Yes, their reaction was bad. Wolfpack is not happy. 😑
@@TheCyberMantis Well, they have their own taste just like we all do, buddy. They might change finding another aspect of Lovebites in the next reaction. Let's expect for the new bassist, Ichinose (with fingers crossed) might be practicing with the band like hell for her debut right now.
@@gatograto I hope you are right!
Do you really speak for all of Wolfpack?
You’ve just discovered the best metal band on the planet.. You should listen to more from them. Suggestions include Thunder Vengeance (live) and Set The World On Fire (live). Don’t let their looks fool you, and they’re not religious in their music.

An 80s punk band????
She was referring to the blond guitarist aesthetic, and she meant early pop punk.
Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981).
As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Here are more clips you should check out:
Their most recently posted live clips, “Set the World on Fire” th-cam.com/video/99zsH6iG_6c/w-d-xo.html and “Don’t Bite the Dust” th-cam.com/video/oHnKGEj1CMc/w-d-xo.html, which are both from their recently released concert DVD “Heavy Metal Never Dies”.
"Edge of the World" and "We the United", back to back: th-cam.com/video/sl0-U-ykJCU/w-d-xo.html They form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope.
Also, “Empty Daydream”, which starts as a ballad and becomes a real rocker: th-cam.com/video/lXh_uMM94jU/w-d-xo.html;
“Holy War”: th-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/w-d-xo.html
Miyako is also a professional-level concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar.
For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” th-cam.com/video/1ynnXDfEnnY/w-d-xo.html (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both)
Finally, while you will sometimes hear you should only react to live clips, as you saw, their MV’s are epic and worth seeing. Here are three more of the most spectacular:
"Shadowmaker" th-cam.com/video/Brmoln5Gxus/w-d-xo.html This is the song that blew up and melted faces all over the world
"When Destinies Align" th-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/w-d-xo.html
"Winds of Transylvania" th-cam.com/video/HsE4Ub_Pjh8/w-d-xo.html.
You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Also, you can’t go wrong with any of their official clips. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!
Thank you for the background information. It helps to know a little about the band and where they come from.
I'm totally agree with you lovebites rock
We agree that they are highly professional. We really enjoyed the experience with this song and will be checking out more of them.

You don’t want to walk past this band. This band has no peer. Keep listening. This is not hyperbole.
This means that they will incorporate words and phrases, with the help of Japanese speakers who are also fluent in English, that may not necessarily be used by English speakers….let alone American speakers (yes, I think it’s about time it was recognised as it’s own language!)
90% of their material is available on TH-cam (mostly pirated) in live performances.
Thanks for that information. if I wasn't impressed before (Which I certainly was) I am now.
Stop timing is bad
From Tokyo
It's not a church band at all..
Their music is heavier than any japanese female metal band..
Maybe, heavier than you think..
They did Heavy metal, Power metal, Power ballad, Thrash metal, and Hard-rock..
But I suggest to watch their live performance, because they're so much better live..
Please don't judge them right away after hearing just one song..
At least, watch their live performance first, and you can talk what you think..
Have a great day..
We take things as they come. We actually really enjoyed the song and video. We will definitely be checking out more of their work. thank you.
don´t write them off. they are the best band since a long time and not religious. the video was shot in a wedding chapel in tokyo, which is used by many japanese metal bands for videos. because it was short before christmas, they wanted some solemn iconography. the second storyline with the young man was about "what would it be like if he came back now? " the lyrics for this one are inspired by gospels.
I recommend "raise some hell" live 2020 (heavy rock), "holy war" live 2020 (powermetal), break the wall live 2020 (thrash) and "set the world on fire" live 2021 (thrash) don´t miss.
We have no intention of writing them off. Thanks for the insight into the video and the inspiration. We will look into your suggestions and Lovebites is part of our normal rotation, now.
止めすぎぢゃね?🤣w
いちいち止めるな!
She is terrible.
if you want to watch the video...watch the video. 👍😎
LMFAO They aren't religious
We do understand that, We were just saying that it had religious overtones.
It has nothing to do with religion "per se" but belief in yourself and NOt external props like religion ... :)
Far too many pauses!! 😞
Too many pauses and it is hard to watch the video.
Truth. Elizabeth Zarhoff does the same thing. She's a narcissist. I can't stand her channel.
just my suggest,,try don't to much skip when reacting, cause you will lost the spirit of the song....anyways lovebites is another level musician.... every lovebites members very educated ..and we can see very such talented..... just my suggest..next try to react ;EMPTY DAYDREAM or A FROZEN SERENADE,,you will see MIYAKO (Dean Guitar) play guitar and world class piano
Thank you for your suggestions.

Stay safe. Stay Lovebites
Yeah, bad reaction. Too many pauses, and so much nit-picking. They ain't seen shit yet.
Are you saying that every Lovebites song is written with only Iron Maiden as an influence??
This was our FIRST time hearing them at all. as far as the Slayer comment, I was referring to the first 15 seconds of the song with the sudden explosion of heavy guitar and bass.
Thanks for your continued attention to how much we suck. lol
React to another Japanese Metal Core

Deviloof - Torture
Jiluka - Kumari (MV or LIVE Ver.)
punk!!? really?
just a look. and I'm fairly sure that she was actually referring to ,ore of a pop-punk style.
Not the best choice for a first hearing. Also they are at their best live.
We have heard that. We'll have to look into it. thanks.

Punk?
Crystal was just referring to the guitarist's hair style.
