There was once a band called Destrose. Destrose didn't put out a lot of content, but they had a lot of lineup changes for the time there were together. Their second and final bass guitarist was Miho, and their second out of three drummers was Haruna. When Destrose finally called it quits, Miho and Haruna were looking to put together a new band that was more like the classic heavy metal that Miho in particular grew up listening to. They were acquainted with two guitarists, Midori (the blonde in this video) and Miyako (the brunette), from the rock and metal festival scene. Miyako and Midori's respective bands had just broken up, so the four of them got together and started looking for a singer. Asami was an R&B singer who also sang backup for a few rock bands, but she put out a demo because she was looking for a new challenge. Miho heard the demo, so the five of them got together and jammed. They took their name from the Halestorm song, "Love Bites (So Do I)," the song they played when they first got together. They do write their own music, though they frequently collaborate with a musician named Mao. He was the keyboardist for a now-defunct band called Lightbringer. In the years since their formation, LOVEBITES has released three LPs, three EPs, a single, seven live releases, a compilation album, and nine unique music videos (one video has two versions). They've toured Japan and parts of Europe, and though they've all been to America individually, they've never been here as LOVEBITES. In August of 2021, we were shocked when Miho left the band due to reasons that are still undisclosed. The band immediately went on hiatus. During that time, Asami got married, Miyako got married and had a child, and Midori - women are _always_ drawn to Midori - hit the gym. In the early spring of 2022, LOVEBITES announced that their hiatus was over and that they were holding auditions for a new bass guitarist. They put out a new instrumental track for anyone anywhere to create their own bass line for; auditions end in late May, but it's a three-step process, so there likely won't be any news on that front for a while. As far as how popular they are, they are popular enough to sell out wherever they go, though it seems like their most recent couple of tours have been in venues with a capacity of 3000 - 4000 people. Their production values visibly increase with every tour, though, so there's a feeling like they're on the rise, or at least they were before covid. The man in "Glory to the World" represents Jesus reincarnated in today's world and slowly remembering what happened to Him during the crucifixion. LOVEBITES are acting as a beacon leading Him to the church they're in. The interior is a real place that several bands have filmed in, though I think the church's main function is for couples that want a Western-style wedding. I don't know if Christian services are held there on a regular basis; I'd be surprised if they were. Midori and Mao wrote the music and Asami wrote the lyrics. It's supposed to comfort and give hope to those that hear it during the dark time of the pandemic. During the filming of this video, Midori posted on Instagram that she loves her "golden skin and fluffy hair" in this video. We all do, Midori. As for where to go next, I guess it depends on what you'd like to hear. If you'd like to hear Asami's vocal excellence, they have what are called the Three E songs, "Epilogue," "Edge of the World," and "Empty Daydream." None of them are on their official channel, but "Empty Daydream" has a good fan upload of a live version. I'm not sure about the other two. If you'd like to hear something fast like "Glory to the World," their official channel has a song called "Holy War." It's live, though their video for "When Destinies Align" would scratch that itch, too. If you'd like something more thrashy, "Thunder Vengeance" and "Set the World on Fire" from their official channel would work. For a more hard rock song, "Don't Bite the Dust" from their official channel or a fan upload of either the fun "Raise Some Hell" or the elegant "Swan Song" would be a good idea. I’m very serious when I say that in my 62 years I have never seen such a perfect combination of human beings performing music. They are virtuoso musicians, absolutely genuine people, their lyrics are positive and uplifting and since I became a fan (within 30 seconds of listening to the first song I heard by them) I can honestly say that I have more or less stopped playing anything else. It just seems that whatever I used to love playing (and there is talent aplenty in my musical taste), it just doesn’t measure up. Lovebites inspire fierce loyalty in their fan base because of the fact that they are so unknown yet so talented, and because they are just such genuinely nice people. I love this band as if they were my daughters… I’m “proud” to be associated with them and passionate about making sure everyone gets to hear just how talented they are. The bassist left the band last August and they're currently having auditions for her replacement. If you want to hear a seriously metal song, listen to Break the Wall. Welcome to the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. They have themselves said that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. This is an unusual pick for a first reaction, but a great one. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like a demon). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Answering your questions: Yes, they write most of their own music; there is one other musician, Mao, who co-writes some of their songs. See my other comment for a bit of their history. Re. popularity, they are bigger outside Japan than in Japan, and they chose from the start to write mostly in English so they could appeal to an international audience. Re. spirit animal: There is a funny pattern of women being drawn to Midori, as you were, and men being drawn more to Miyako (the dark-haired guitarist). But we love all of them!
Yes a lot of women seem to crush on Midori although I'm more in the Miyako camp personally. It's a strange one actually because Midori is the more overtly extrovert and sexy of the two of them whereas Miyako is more reserved and cerebral. I don't really know why so many women fall for Midori unless it's that they can identify with her more as the strong, independent, hot girl they wish they could be. Miyako's quiet genius is more problematical. Men are often scared to death of women that are ten times smarter than they are but many seem fascinated by her. She's the most enigmatic of the ladies in the band. Still waters run deep as they say and I guess people just love a mystery. As you rightly say however, we love them all.

EVERY song these ladies release is a hit. Can't get enough of these 5 beauties. Japan has a lot of all female bands and front lady singer bands. This is why I love J-metal. Well, it seems you’ve just been lovebitten, too. Yes, welcome to the mind-blowing world of Lovebites. These women are extremely talented, skillful and versatile exceptional musicians. Their main influences are Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Helloween, Angra, Judas Priest, Dragonforce, and even Gary Moore, but they have been developing their unique style. Some people say that they are redefining metal or that they are breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. They really shine in their live performances. I recommend songs from the concerts “Wacken Open Air” (Germany, 2018), “Daughters of the dawn” (2019), “Five of a kind” (2020), “Awakening From The abyss” (studio live, 2020) and “Heavy metal never dies” (2021); avoid “Bloodstock” because audio is not good (not their fault). Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just a little more than five years. Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined Lovebites. In an interview, Miho (ex bassist) said that they wanted to play as heavy as men but keeping their femininity. Japan has been killing it with All Female Hard Rock & Metal Bands. Lovebites is as good as it gets they are Top Notch Talents. The same could be said for Nemophila in the metal category. Do yourself a favor and checkout BAND-MAID they are my personal favorite who are just as talented and are more of a Hard Rock/Metal band. Actually it very difficult to categorize them in any category. They have a genuinely infectious quality to them. I truly believe they are incapable of producing a sub-par track. I would not sleep on BAND-MAID they are truly a special band!

Lovebites formed in 2016 after the band Destrose disbanded and bassist Miho and Drummer Haruna formed Lovebites and picked up Miyako (guitar), Midori (guitar), and Asami (Vocals) shortly after. Yes they write their own music and in 2018 Lovebites won the Metal Hammer Golden God Award for Best New Band. Every song they do is in English and they wanted that because they wanted to reach out world wide. This band is incredibly talented and you havent even scratched the surface with this song. They play everything from just Metal to Thrash Metal. I recommend a song from Lovebites darker side. Hello from Japan. The first time I listen to a LOVEBITES song, I recommend live footage. The reason is that I don't want you to feel embarrassed later, like Reactor, who asserted that "they are fake and there is another performer", judging only by the feminine appearance of LB. Indeed, the playing skills of this member are incredibly high. And, surprisingly, live performances maintain the same standards as studio recordings.

The winners of the GOLDEN GODS Award in different years and in various categories were such famous bands and musicians as Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Twisted Sister, Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy Kilmister, Zakk Wylde, Nikki Sixx, Joe Perry, Judas Priest, Anthrax, Slayer, Saxon, Nightwish, Rammstein, Sabaton, Children of Bodom, Arch Enemy. The song has religious overtones and the guy is supposed to represent Jesus hence the lyrics "I know you really cared for us" and "I will leave it in your hands". All five women are classically trained pianists, and all five write and compose their own music. Asami the singer does 90% of the lyrics, and her lyrics are very uplifting, inspiring, and encouraging. They have created something new out of the old styles of rock and metal, and to top it off they are very diverse and versatile in the various styles of rock and metal, meaning they just don't play one style but several styles. Most of their songs are extremely infused with the classical elements of the past and Miyako is the reason for it.

There was once a band called Destrose. Destrose didn't put out a lot of content, but they had a lot of lineup changes for the time there were together. Their second and final bass guitarist was Miho, and their second out of three drummers was Haruna. When Destrose finally called it quits, Miho and Haruna were looking to put together a new band that was more like the classic heavy metal that Miho in particular grew up listening to. They were acquainted with two guitarists, Midori (the blonde in this video) and Miyako (the brunette), from the rock and metal festival scene. Miyako and Midori's respective bands had just broken up, so the four of them got together and started looking for a singer. Asami was an R&B singer who also sang backup for a few rock bands, but she put out a demo because she was looking for a new challenge. Miho heard the demo, so the five of them got together and jammed. They took their name from the Halestorm song, "Love Bites (So Do I)," the song they played when they first got together. They do write their own music, though they frequently collaborate with a musician named Mao. He was the keyboardist for a now-defunct band called Lightbringer.
In the years since their formation, LOVEBITES has released three LPs, three EPs, a single, seven live releases, a compilation album, and nine unique music videos (one video has two versions). They've toured Japan and parts of Europe, and though they've all been to America individually, they've never been here as LOVEBITES. In August of 2021, we were shocked when Miho left the band due to reasons that are still undisclosed. The band immediately went on hiatus. During that time, Asami got married, Miyako got married and had a child, and Midori - women are _always_ drawn to Midori - hit the gym. In the early spring of 2022, LOVEBITES announced that their hiatus was over and that they were holding auditions for a new bass guitarist. They put out a new instrumental track for anyone anywhere to create their own bass line for; auditions end in late May, but it's a three-step process, so there likely won't be any news on that front for a while. As far as how popular they are, they are popular enough to sell out wherever they go, though it seems like their most recent couple of tours have been in venues with a capacity of 3000 - 4000 people. Their production values visibly increase with every tour, though, so there's a feeling like they're on the rise, or at least they were before covid.
The man in "Glory to the World" represents Jesus reincarnated in today's world and slowly remembering what happened to Him during the crucifixion. LOVEBITES are acting as a beacon leading Him to the church they're in. The interior is a real place that several bands have filmed in, though I think the church's main function is for couples that want a Western-style wedding. I don't know if Christian services are held there on a regular basis; I'd be surprised if they were. Midori and Mao wrote the music and Asami wrote the lyrics. It's supposed to comfort and give hope to those that hear it during the dark time of the pandemic. During the filming of this video, Midori posted on Instagram that she loves her "golden skin and fluffy hair" in this video. We all do, Midori.
As for where to go next, I guess it depends on what you'd like to hear. If you'd like to hear Asami's vocal excellence, they have what are called the Three E songs, "Epilogue," "Edge of the World," and "Empty Daydream." None of them are on their official channel, but "Empty Daydream" has a good fan upload of a live version. I'm not sure about the other two. If you'd like to hear something fast like "Glory to the World," their official channel has a song called "Holy War." It's live, though their video for "When Destinies Align" would scratch that itch, too. If you'd like something more thrashy, "Thunder Vengeance" and "Set the World on Fire" from their official channel would work. For a more hard rock song, "Don't Bite the Dust" from their official channel or a fan upload of either the fun "Raise Some Hell" or the elegant "Swan Song" would be a good idea. I’m very serious when I say that in my 62 years I have never seen such a perfect combination of human beings performing music. They are virtuoso musicians, absolutely genuine people, their lyrics are positive and uplifting and since I became a fan (within 30 seconds of listening to the first song I heard by them) I can honestly say that I have more or less stopped playing anything else. It just seems that whatever I used to love playing (and there is talent aplenty in my musical taste), it just doesn’t measure up. Lovebites inspire fierce loyalty in their fan base because of the fact that they are so unknown yet so talented, and because they are just such genuinely nice people. I love this band as if they were my daughters… I’m “proud” to be associated with them and passionate about making sure everyone gets to hear just how talented they are. The bassist left the band last August and they're currently having auditions for her replacement. If you want to hear a seriously metal song, listen to Break the Wall. If you want a more symphonic metal song, try Swan Song.

"Glory to the World" is a song from LOVEBITES' third EP "Glory, Glory, to the World" (March , 2021). It was written in 2020 as the Covid-19 pandemic swept the world, as millions of people began to get sick and die,the world plunged into the darkness of depression. They started as the bassist Miho (she regretfully left the band last august) spun out with the drummer Haruna from a legendary Japanese female band Destrose (Destroy + Rose) in 2016, and found your favorite blond guitarist Midori the speed daemon (she actually plays beautiful slow ballad as well), and the dark haired guitarist Miyako the Golden Touch as a support guitarist (she was playing in another band), then finally found the singer Asami. They actually became active in 2017, and won Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award as the best new metal band of 2018. They toured in Europe and Asian countries and about to break all over the world but because of this epidemic situation, never made it in the States, and also since the bassist Miho left the band, they are on hiatus right now but the audition for the bassist is open till 24th of this May.

As Power Metal, Speedmetal Fan Lovebites for me is the Rising Shinging Star above them all, but yes Japan has many talented Bands, in genres for everyone.

Welcome to the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. They have themselves said that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics.
They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters.
This is an unusual pick for a first reaction, but a great one. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like a demon). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Answering your questions: Yes, they write most of their own music; there is one other musician, Mao, who co-writes some of their songs. See my other comment for a bit of their history. Re. popularity, they are bigger outside Japan than in Japan, and they chose from the start to write mostly in English so they could appeal to an international audience. Re. spirit animal: There is a funny pattern of women being drawn to Midori, as you were, and men being drawn more to Miyako (the dark-haired guitarist). But we love all of them!
Yes a lot of women seem to crush on Midori although I'm more in the Miyako camp personally. It's a strange one actually because Midori is the more overtly extrovert and sexy of the two of them whereas Miyako is more reserved and cerebral. I don't really know why so many women fall for Midori unless it's that they can identify with her more as the strong, independent, hot girl they wish they could be. Miyako's quiet genius is more problematical. Men are often scared to death of women that are ten times smarter than they are but many seem fascinated by her. She's the most enigmatic of the ladies in the band. Still waters run deep as they say and I guess people just love a mystery. As you rightly say however, we love them all.

Well, it seems you’ve just been lovebitten, too. Yes, welcome to the mind-blowing world of Lovebites. These women are extremely talented, skillful and versatile exceptional musicians. Their main influences are Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Helloween, Angra, Judas Priest, Dragonforce, and even Gary Moore, but they have been developing their unique style. Some people say that they are redefining metal or that they are breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. They really shine in their live performances. I recommend songs from the concerts “Wacken Open Air” (Germany, 2018), “Daughters of the dawn” (2019), “Five of a kind” (2020), “Awakening From The abyss” (studio live, 2020) and “Heavy metal never dies” (2021); avoid “Bloodstock” because audio is not good (not their fault). Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just a little more than five years. Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined Lovebites. In an interview, Miho (ex bassist) said that they wanted to play as heavy as men but keeping their femininity. Japan has been killing it with All Female Hard Rock & Metal Bands. Lovebites is as good as it gets they are Top Notch Talents. The same could be said for Nemophila in the metal category. Do yourself a favor and checkout BAND-MAID they are my personal favorite who are just as talented and are more of a Hard Rock/Metal band. Actually it very difficult to categorize them in any category. They have a genuinely infectious quality to them. I truly believe they are incapable of producing a sub-par track. I would not sleep on BAND-MAID they are truly a special band!
Asami is a mezzo-soprano, she has a background as an R&B singer. And like the Valkyrie Goddess Floor Jansen she is a stage-general!

Yes they write their own music and in 2018 Lovebites won the Metal Hammer Golden God Award for Best New Band. Every song they do is in English and they wanted that because they wanted to reach out world wide. This band is incredibly talented and you havent even scratched the surface with this song. They play everything from just Metal to Thrash Metal. I recommend a song from Lovebites darker side. Hello from Japan. The first time I listen to a LOVEBITES song, I recommend live footage.
The reason is that I don't want you to feel embarrassed later, like Reactor, who asserted that "they are fake and there is another performer", judging only by the feminine appearance of LB.
Indeed, the playing skills of this member are incredibly high.
And, surprisingly, live performances maintain the same standards as studio recordings.

The winners of the GOLDEN GODS Award in different years and in various categories were such famous bands and musicians as Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Twisted Sister, Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy Kilmister, Zakk Wylde, Nikki Sixx, Joe Perry, Judas Priest, Anthrax, Slayer, Saxon, Nightwish, Rammstein, Sabaton, Children of Bodom, Arch Enemy.
LOVEBITES is a Japanese female power metal band, formed in 2016 by former Japanese heavy metal band DESTROSE members Miho( bass,backing vocals) and Haruna(drums). 🐺Miyako (black hair) has played classical piano since she was three, guitar at the age of 18. A pianist of the highest level, playing classical pieces with ease. Super guitarist! They call her "The Golden Touch" and she is a real musical genius. Miyako is the main composer of the group, she wrote over 50% of the music.
* Miyako and Mi-Ya are the same lady. On the debut EP "The Lovebites" ( May, 2017) and on the first album "Awakening from Abyss"(October, 2017) , her name was written as Mi-Ya , on the following albums - Miyako.
* In terms of teamwork , synchronization of guitars and harmony, Midori and Miyako today are perhaps the best pair of guitarists in the world playing metal. One music critic said that two guitarists of this level (Midori and Miyako) in the same group is a crime!😊
🐺Asami started with R&B and soul music . She studied classical ballet for about 16 years (this is noticeable in her movements on stage, especially the movements of her hands). Started ballet lessons at the age of two.After school, she moved to the USA to study jazz and hip-hop dance. Plays the piano. Asami wrote most of the lyrics of the group's songs. She speaks English, albeit with accent. All songs LOVEBITES are written in English.
Unlike other metal bands, LOVEBITES are always on stage in white dresses . White dresses are their style. Many people, having seen them on stage, say that in white dresses they look like Greek Goddesses playing metal !
The Wolf is the mascot of LOVEBITES and is featured on all band's albums except the first EP "The Lovebites". The group's fans call themselves the 🐺Wolfpack🐺.
The song has religious overtones and the guy is supposed to represent Jesus hence the lyrics "I know you really cared for us" and "I will leave it in your hands". All five women are classically trained pianists, and all five write and compose their own music. Asami the singer does 90% of the lyrics, and her lyrics are very uplifting, inspiring, and encouraging. They have created something new out of the old styles of rock and metal, and to top it off they are very diverse and versatile in the various styles of rock and metal, meaning they just don't play one style but several styles. Most of their songs are extremely infused with the classical elements of the past and Miyako is the reason for it.

Most of the music is composed by Miyako, the golden touch, but they all compose. Miyako is not only an amazing guitarist but also a pianist with a BA in music. The guitar player you like is Midori, the crazy shredder.
MAO from Light Bringer also help them composing the song, especially on their album "Electric Pentagram".
Love this Ladys the have no bad song many heavy and fast ones but also some real "slower" masterpieces like Edge of the World, Empty Daydream. A Frozen Serenade, Rising. Above the Black Sea (ok the last 2 are not so slow..:) and more. always watch them live if possible ( but not bloodstock)
