I'm the one person in the world that thinks Tailgunner is horribly generic and cliché and I love 80s influenced metal - bored me to tears when I saw them live, far too polished for me. Moan over 😅
Great response James… as I always expected it to be! Your location is so handy for gigs isn’t it… as every band passes thru London on tour! Great shouts with ‘Nile’ & ‘Pestilence’ btw! All the best for 2024 my friend!🤘🏻

Some great answers, yes Bon Jovi took a nosedive unfortunately. Also noticed you have the WASP boxset, i
bought that as a xmas present to myself. Really enjoying listening to it as only knew a few songs previously.

Cool response! 'Master...' is a masterpiece IMO and well worth owning on multiple formats. With you on Bon Jovi there. It's strange that HMV is known for insane prices, because, when I lived in Manchester in the 2000s, they had a lot of really cheap CDs, DVDs, and PC games. That Maiden t-shirt is really cool! Agree 167% on Eddie :)
The prices for records in HMV these days are crazy expensive mate. Yeah MOP is an absolute masterpiece and definitely worth having on multiple formats. Cheers Kim
Great Metal tag response mate. I’m the same with travel distance to a major city only takes about 1hour to Melbourne and about 20mins to a smaller city to see gigs.
We're both in the same boat then mate. I'm off to see Xentrix in a few weeks and the venue is only a 30 minute drive away. Good times

Congratz to nr 200 James! Didn´t know Deicide had an album for this year, very cool! That RE-Animater album scream skate punk in my eyes. I agree with your Coffin Mulch thought, the EP was better in my opinion. I would not say it disappointed, it was in the lower end of my top 20 list but as you said, I was not blown away. Sweet answers to the tag James! Cheers!

Bit late watching this one had a busy weekend so I'm playing catch up with my youtube viewing but priest and saxon I'm looking forward to this year hopefully I can buy a few more new releases as I only bought one in 2023 last year was all about picking up used cds and filling in the holes in bands back catalogues!

Can't say I'm too fussed about Deicide these days, but I'm shocked about your opinions on Coffin Mulch! Blinder of an album! Not quite as shocked as with your repeated recent takes on Like An Ever-Flowing Stream, however! 😜

Master of Puppets is one if the best albums ever recorded in my opinion. Absolute banger. Yeah Enema of The State is awesome, listened to it constantly back in the late 90s. Cheers mate 👍

Great response there James. Nice collection of master of puppets, an album worthy of having on multiple formats. Yeah Somewhere in time Eddie is probably the best version of him for me. The t-shirt you have is ace. I think Coffin Mulch suffer a bit from sounding a bit too much like the Swedish sound and yeah perhaps all the hype around it built it up a bit too much, but it's still a great album. Good to hear tailgunner getting a mention, definitely a band to keep tabs on.

I would also class AC-DC as metal, there's more punch to their music than a lot of metal bands.
I'd agree with that. They are also a huge influence on many Metal bands.

I'm with you 100% on Nile. They played in Coventry, my home city, late in 2022. Couldn't believe it! Best Ancient Egyptian panto ever! And their live sound was outstanding. Krisiun were pretty damn good too.

Logistically you’re very lucky of where you live, you can pick and choose the shows you want to see! Good to see some Cattle Decapitation, I pass on their early work but these past 4 albums have been great! Looking forward to you’re year end list 🤘
I am very lucky not living far from London, pretty much every band is available to me to go see live. I'm looking forward to diving deep into Cattle Decapitation's discography. Cheers mate as always 👍
Great response & answers, James! I have a feeling the new Deicide will be as good or even better than Overtures of Blasphemy. I agree, Nile are a very consistent band and their Egyptian theme makes them stand out. Iron Maiden's later day albums after Brave New World are needlessly too long.
Can't wait for the new Deicide mate and yes Nile are superb and uniting the Death Metal world. I still enjoy the latter day Maiden albums but they are all definitely too long. Cheers Tony
