I’m heading to Krakow in two weeks (early March 2024), and wasn’t sure how to make the journey from the airport to the city. Thanks to your video I now have a good idea of what to do. Thank you for sharing. 🙏🏻
Thank you, this is exactly what I needed for my upcoming trip. Two questions: * Is there an option at the kiosk for a round-trip ticket? We're staying at that hotel so plan to return to the airport. * How did you board the train when the doors were closed?
You will need to buy 2 tickets (One from Krakow Airport to Krakow Glowny and then One from Krakow Glowny to Krakow Airport). You can buy the ticket from the machine at the same time if you wish. The doors were closed but since there were 10 mins left till departure, you just press the open button on the door.
Hi, Thanks for the video! We're planning to visit this summer! Two questions: - When you were purchasing your ticket at the machine, was there a button to select English? - When you were about to board the train, you said that you would have to go down a bit (but then the video skipped to showing scenery on the train ride). It seemed like the train doors will all closed. How did you know that you had to go further down a bit? Were there train doors open further down? Or do the doors open as you approach them? Thanks!
There is an option to select language as it comes up with a number of European languages. I generally board trains around the middle carriage as you never know where the train will stop on the platform at the destination. So generally stay in the middle.
Thank you so much for posting this I am going to Krakow in March, and showing how to get the train ticket has taken some stress off me, as to getting to Old Town. 😊
Great video, im off there next week. The only thing that im confused about is when it said exact change only but you were able to use card? I thought that would've meant you weren't able to pay by card?
You can pay by card as there is a cash or card option. Also the exact change from the machine is misleading as on the return journey I used cash and got change
It’s easy to get the train back from the central station. Same process but this time a ticket to the airport. Plenty of English speakers in Krakow as it’s quite an educated city

@@NomadicJas thank you, those machines don't seem very accurate so you've put my mind at ease
I used to pay on the train, is this option still available ?
You can still pay on the train. The ticket inspector sells tickets on board as well
@@NomadicJas cheers, I remember the old platform outside 👍
tbh Uber/freenow/bolt all operate from the airport and it cost us £10 into the old town. Took 30 minutes.
Great video,
Don't you have to scan the ticket before boarding?
Cheers
Thank you. Your ticket gets checked on board by the ticket inspector
Great video thanks alot is hard to find the train on the way back ? Do many people speak english over there thanks 😊😊

You should be ok with buying the ticket on board, I believe.
Yes indeed. You can also buy from the ticket inspector
Do they accept only debit card or credit card?
The machines accept cash as well
Surprised you didn’t miss the train because it’s such a long process to buy it. I’ll pay on board thank you!
You get about 10 mins once the train arrives before it departs again for the centre
I remember when you could watch the chickens feed in the yard across from the platform while you waited for the train
When you buy the ticket, do you need to stamp it?
The ticket gets checked on board, so no need to stamp
Ok , thanks 👍
