    Hello mate, I’ve just watched this and I’ve clicked the link to order some bulbs but it seems they aren’t doing xenon’s anymore as the only option to select the bulb colour in is yellow?

    That looks so much better! Can you still see the indicator lights ok or does the white light block them?

    • @AlexTheGrumpyOne
      @AlexTheGrumpyOne  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I must admit the white light is pretty string so it does make it harder to see the indicator to be hones

    Nice to see someone still making videos on the Scirocco. I have one too but there's not a lot of videos out there since the car is a) discontinued and b) just not many out there as it wasn't sold in North America.
    Not sure if you or anyone you know can help but I have a few questions.
    1) do you know where I can get an english version of the car manual?
    2) my car is APR Stage 2+ tuned (bought it that way, not done by me). Been having some loss of acceleration power and stumbling at low speeds only. Acceleration seems ok at higher speeds but only from 0 it's pretty bad. No fault codes. I've been told it could be intercooler hose leaks, some light oil dripping could be turbo seals going? or could it be something more like worn pistons rings. mine is 2013 R model, 2.0 L TFSI, gasoline automatic, 72,000 km now, bought it at 54,000 km in Oct. 2017.

      Hi thank you. I'm glad people appreciate it.
      Yeah I know that you didn't get any that way which is unfortunate.
      Have you tried looking on ebay for the car manual? Also check with the car breakers as they would have one as well.
      You issue might also be due to your auto box. Has it been serviced? I know that it can take longer to change gears and ingage them when the oil gets old.
      Also the turbo leak will cause an issue like that. Have you had it scanned to get any fault codes out of it or just check live data readings?
      What is the mileage on it?

      @@AlexTheGrumpyOne trans oil was done at 50k km now im at 72k km. no fault codes. i have a leak in intercooler hose before and after (both ends) so maybe that is what could be causing the acceleration issue at load from 0 to 70km/hr? boost needle goes to around 9 psi even though im only pushing at 1700 to 2000 k rpm and driving at 50 to 60 km / hr. seems to lack power at that time but higher speed feels a lot more smooth and steady.

    • @AlexTheGrumpyOne
      @AlexTheGrumpyOne  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those leaks will affect it as well mate. As the system will be getting wrong readings and that will affect everything.
      I would recommend sorting them first and then see how its going.
      Let me know once you sorted them leaks out please.

      @@AlexTheGrumpyOne you are right. i better get that fixed first then see if that solved my low speed acceleration issue or not. i will get it done next month in my winter break. will update u on it rhanx for your replies!

      Yeah sounds like a plan mate. Good luck with that and let's hope that it will fix it. If not we will look in to it more.

    Hello mate I wonder if you can help, I tired fitting some LED bulbs at the weekend after watching your vid (I should have bought your ones) firstly I had to remove the whole indicator as I couldn't extract the bulb through the bumper, but the LED wouldn't eliminate, I then put the original bulb back in and that wouldn't turn on, checked fuses and found a 15amp fuse blown (not sure if that was related) changed the fuse and std bulb words again.
    I gave up trying the LED again and moved onto a different task, but any advise please?

    • @AlexTheGrumpyOne
      @AlexTheGrumpyOne  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello bud. I would suggest getting the ones of my link. The discount helps as well.
      You can try disconnecting the battery while fitting them. That will reset can bus system and should be fine 😀
      Fuse might be because it shorted somehow while u were doing it

    • @AlexTheGrumpyOne
      @AlexTheGrumpyOne  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there. Yes when you cycle ignition it can flash a little bit due to low volatage

  • @LegitBro94
    @LegitBro94 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How do mate. When fitting this on start up it flickers if set to auto then triggers a fault but then will be fine if i trigger it to come on. Any suggestions?

    • @AlexTheGrumpyOne
      @AlexTheGrumpyOne  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats strange. I havent got that issue. Were the contacts clean when you fitted the bulbs? BecUse it was difficult to get the bulb in, as the fitting is thicker then the normal bulb. You got the ones of the link?

    • @LegitBro94
      @LegitBro94 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah they are but mine is a facelift so the side lights are in the headlight unit. If the lights dont need to be on and its set to auto on start up they will flicker for a second or 2 then they stay off due to the lights not being required. After which the fault stays on and only way to clear it is to turn them on and then back to auto? So strange

      Speaking about mot part of it on my vehicle its fine as the pattern is fine and its adjusting properly. So it will pass as long as your headlights are fine.
      The only part that that is confusing is the mark on it as it hasn't got approval mark, but mot testers are not aloud to take covers off to check it anyway. Never had an issue with the police as they are not blinding anyone coming my way.
      So apart from not having a approval mark on them there is no issue as far as I know.
