Thanks! I chasing the electrical gremlins at the moment. My test light and multi meter both show a drop in voltage on the C1 gauge connector and radio power constant when the courtesy lights come on. Spent well into two days of pull all plastics and tracing wires. I used a jumper wire to the radio power and then everything worked. Im done with it, so im glad I found your video. Good work 👍
I got a 99 Cheap Cherokee and my gauge cluster didn't work either . Now where I found the problem is supposed to be common also . The very back inside dome light close to the lift dood didn't work when I got it . I found some burnt wires in the lamp . The reason it shorted out was ( stay with me now it's very relevant lol)! When you lift the back door you will see a wireing harness and after yrs and yrs of the door goin up and down finally scraped the wires to where the shorted out . Ok , I took some small pieces of duct tape and wove in and around the skinned wires to creat a barrier and then replaced the very fuse that you pulled and the gauge cluster came alive , even the lights in the mirror of the sun visors . Bet you mirror lights dont work either lol. The wiring harness from the very back dome light to your gauge cluster is connected to that one fuse that you pulled . This may not help you but it's something to look at but I believe there's others out there that have the same problem had . I never would've thought it out that far .
Thank you for this post, My 98’ Cherokee cluster powered right up! Do you know if the cluster lights are on a different circuit? All my gauges are working now but I just can’t see them at night
I have power going to my male connection on the left. When I unplug the right one it stays powered one with the left one plugged in shows mileage then no bus. When I do opposite unplug the left one and leave the right one plugged in I get no power no mileage and no error code. Can I do the same to the right male connection. Thank you

Was your cluster totally dead with the “no bus” or was it intermittent and going out when you hit a bump

Yes the illumination lights are a separate circuit from the gauges you might check the fuse or the or the headlight switch.
Was your cluster working off and on? Mine works but gauges will go dead then I smack the dash and it will work again

I don't know.
Do your lights turn on? Or your doors lock?
The lights and the door locks are a separate circuit.
That's a separate problem.
