For more than four decades, profoundly influential bluegrass band The Seldom Scene has shared its undeniable talent, progressive repertoire, and creative spirit both in the studio and on stage. 'Long Time... Seldom Scene' features fresh interpretations of 16 oft-requested tunes and is the band’s first studio album since the GRAMMY-nominated album 'Scenechronized' in 2007. It’s a family reunion in all the best ways, featuring the current - and longest-running - lineup, joined by founding members Tom Gray and John Starling and guests Chris Eldridge, Emmylou Harris, and Rickie Simpkins.

Perfection. Atmospheric. Emotive. Evocative. Pure pleasure to listen to, for this long time fan.

I've read some of your comments Steelguitarlane and know you're Tom's son and couldn't agree more! That song is definitely missing Duffey. It is so good to see Ben, John, and your Dad playing some music together again!!

Lou Reid is just flat-out good. As much as I miss John Duffey, this guy has filled that role and more.

Starling and the bunch do a great job here. Remember that musical opinions are subjective, not definitive. Now, kiddies, I don't want have to tell you again. It is exhaustive trying to herd cats on the Tube. ;)

With due respect to the amazing Duffey, this version of the song doesn't "need" anything. Big Mon would be proud. All of those guys in the Scene orbit past and present: Starling, Gray,Reid, Simpkins(es),Travers, Connell, Eldridge(s), and Auldridge (and that girl Emmylou something) are amazing, creative singers and players. I've probably left someone out.
