    Nice look at the 401 Svartpilen. That looked like a fun launch.
    I'm doing the paperwork for a 24' Svartpilen 401. I have 6 bikes but these have caught my eye since the first Gen was out. I live in Coastal Northern California, think PNW type weather, damp & chilly, especially in the winter months. My goal is to use this as my daily rider, everything but long distance bike. But, I might take it on a few longer rides at a bit slower pace than my T7, or Ultra Classic. Still, I think there something pure about these lil Huskies and I'd like to return to that feeling.

    Ah dang, and I was so happy with finally getting a 2022 Vit 401. If motorcycling were my only sport I'd be thinking of selling my Vit to get the new one before it loses too much of it's value.

    How big of a difference is of a feel is there on and offroad with the smaller diameter front tire compared to the previous model?

    How does the power output feel at lower revs ?

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Linear although I didn't do much testing of borderline lugging, being a revvy single the tendency is get the revs up fairly quickly and keep them there though.

    These are a big step backwards style-wise from the 2023's. My opinion only. The display is nice though.

    After your recent review of the Triumph 400 bikes, how do they compare with the 401?

    • @subrat6535377
      @subrat6535377 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Believe me Speed 400 is overhyped. Very slim tank doesn't feel commanding

    • @MotoJournoKris
      @MotoJournoKris 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      They are quite different offerings, the 401s are more performance and tech orientated and that shows, with a linear, revvy and sporty engine character. The Triumph 400s have a more mid-range power band that has a little more character but a flatter top end feel. Both bikes have quite premium suspension for the class, but the adjustment on the 401s holds a lot of appeal, for me at 75 kg I'd be extremely happy on either option. Brakes I'd say are more evenly matched, while styling is really a personal judgement call. Ergos vary with the Speed 400 being most similar to the 401s, with all running the 17 inch wheels, even if the Svartpilen runs Rally STRs to the other twos pure road rubber. The Scrambler being a bit taller and larger feeling in comparison.
      The Triumph's do lack some of the more standout features of the Husqvarnas, the cornering aspect of TC/ABS for instance, full TFT, greater adjustment for instance however not everyone is that fussed with these features. The Scrambler 400 X with the larger front wheel is probably a bit more true to the Scrambler theme from my perspective in having a bit more off-road cred, and will likely hold an advantage for bigger riders, and longer distance cover, so covers a more unique niche of the four bikes in some ways.

    How's the mirror visibility? I heard 401 has so much vibration after certain speed. Did it get better this model of year?

      While I've not ridden the bike at any higher than 7.5k rpm, i haven't noticed any such issues on this model.

    Good review, I'd prefer the other model, will you be testing that one?
    I'd prefer this over the look of the Duke 390, I live in a area of tight twisty back roads leading up into the mountains.
