Ambient temp on the screen is great when the weather is perfect, otherwise I don't want to know! 😉 From surfing in the Philippines, to dodging rain in southern Spain, Chad is definitely earning his water wings.
I just bought a 2023 because I like the Vitpilen's clip ons and looks more on that one than this new bike. However, I still think this is a good looking bike. Super cheap here in the states.
If I can't find a 500 40th within a week (not including delivery) I'll be buying a 24 401. In not sure which 24 type i was on at dealership. 23 felt so different and was fraction taller and more aggressive seating. The 24 is awesome and more sit up type bike
main concern with Husqvarna is always about the quality.. it has always been a beautiful bike but the quality issues plaque it year after year.. to a point where people avoid the bike. I am wondering if this is better.. at least I notice that the fuel tank is bigger ? 9.5l to 13l , correct ?
The 2023 401s are less than $5000. I think with all the upgrades, I would go with a 2024. The TFT screen alone is a big upgrade. Waiting to see where the 801 lands price-wise.
They look better, have larger more usable fuel tanks, LED lights and at least one of them has tubeless tyres. I don’t buy motorbikes with tube tyres. The instrumentation looks not so good but maybe it will look better in person. Well done! Thanks! SS
@@rsan1704 I hate them. A flat with tubes pretty much ends your ride. Manufacturers no longer put them on cars...Makes one think! Tubes lose air FAST which can cause a tankslapper of an accident. Thanks! SS

I´ll be taking my motorcycle license this spring and I am looking at these and the KTM but I also have my eyes on slightly used SV650´s. I´m 35 and I dont live near any mountains. For daily commute 20km one way and the odd weekend rides, which one should I go for?
The 401 over the Duke. The KTM doesn't have adjustable suspension so unless you're the 75kg (165lb) rider that stock suspension is generally tuned for being able to tune the suspension for your size & weight is worth the cost of entry. On the SV650 it's a little trickier though. Suzuki have been making them in one form or another since 1999, so it's a proven platform. They're universally praised as a fantastic motorcycle & a sporty V Twin is intoxicating to ride & is becoming quite rare in modern motorcycles. If you're looking at the full power version it's easily the best choice. If you're limited to the restricted version, however, it's not as compelling an option. The SV650 requires a ECU flash or replacement ECU to unlock, which is expensive. The smaller 401 would be more fun & compelling to ride than a handicapped SV650 & would be the better choice.
It's about the same. The new 390 Duke is out in India along with the Ninja 500 and you can see some drag races. They both pull about the same until they reach 100 miles an hour. The 398cc engine tops out at about 108 miles an hour and the Ninja 500 tops out at 118 mph.
The old tail design was awesome, sad they got rid of that.
Chad might aswell move to southern Europe since he's testing for all our favourite YT channels. Hardest working journalist by far right now.
😅
Thx for mentioning the difference between the tires. As an urban rider I was a bit uncertain regarding the Svart's rubber.
Hope we get a 1401 at some point now that the 801 is coming out.
Was just wondering if they had plans for the big thumper version 👍
A vitpilen 1401 neo cafe racer with a semi fairing would be awesome

love Husqvarna naked bikes can't wait for 801😊😊😊
So how do the two ride? The same, differently? Any reason to pick one over the other apart from how the wheels look?
Just wheels, looks, weight, stance. Power same
Riding position seems to be the only notable difference
Great model names. Reminds me to take them.
You guys gotta do something about the ridiculous restrictions on HP and A2 whatever.

I was looking at one, maybe, but after this presentation, I'll stick with my Hornet 600 2006....

I'm having OCD flashes due to rear shock not being centered...
The Vit is just so much better looking
Get your rider to do some ride courses and some track days and practice in ... good luck and ride safe

In terms of cost. It looks like there are more options in Svartpilen. What are the advantages of vitpilen?
Lighter and tubeless tires I assume.
More attractive
I think those headlights are comically large.

I would like to know that too
