Been doing jiu-jitsu off and on since 2003. I went from a very fast and flexible 170 pounds to a thick 215 (I lift heavy things). I’ve had to change my game substantially because I’m older and thicker. Still fun fun, still love it 😊
I was the nail yesterday at open mat trying to play half guard with a knee shield. I’ll try to play this however getting to closed guard is going to be a challenge as well.
Like anything else with Jiujitsu it’s gonna take work to get good at it . Technically you don’t need closed guard you can put feet on the hips. Lasso is like knee shield on steroids very hard for your opponent to get rid of it. Make sure you put the foot in deep and set the trap If you have any issues hit me up Thanks for the the comment

New to BJJ but my professor just showed us this sweep this week. I'm a 1-year white belt here, and have found myself in this position, so is it illegal to do bicep slicer as white, blue belts? You made comment about upper belts doing it but not lower at 2:12 in the video.
I'm in this weird medium because I'm a big, 195 lb powerlifter but I'm only 5'6. I have big guy proportions but everything is shorter so it's hard to get things around people my weight because of how short my limbs are.
Hey brother... do you have a preferred rash guard brand for big guys? I'm 5'9 255. I been loosing the weight was 270 when I started bjj. But I wanted to order from xmartial but I'm scared the rash guard won't fit.

Yes it’s illegal for lower belts to slice brown and above only in most organizations
